Dear Mr. Dolan, Next time a customer calls you during an emergency and is in distress, it's helpful to ask questions the customer can follow. You seemed offended when I asked you about pricing, then you couldn't clarify any information based on your line of questioning. Next, you had the nerve to call me again on your cell phone and follow up with a pedantic text. Thanks for letting me know your questions were free of charge. I have blocked your number.

Fred handled two issues on the same day. Very professional, courteous, and full of information in regards to protecting the big investment that is a home. We now have a bathtub that doesn't leak and a drain that does not hold water for the first time since moving into our home. I will call him for future issues.

My boiler stopped working around 7pm New Years Day. The temperature in the house was dropping fast since it was below 10 degrees outside. I called several companies and got recorded messages. I called F L Dolan Plumbing and Heating around 9 pm and phone was answered by a real person. He pretty much diagnosed the problem over the phone. Even though he had just finished up a long day and was at home, he came to my house within the hour and quickly fixed the problem. My family greatly appreciated his willingness to come back out on a cold night to ensure we would be warm.

I cannot say enough good things about Fred from FL Dolan Plumbing and Heating. It doesn't get much worse than having a house full of company on Thanksgiving weekend and have a septic backup in my house due to a tree root clogging the main septic pipe into and out of my house. Fred answered the phone, suggested I call the City to remediate the problem and save me the plumbing bill. The City came and said they would not fix it since they had done so at my home 4 years ago! (Seriously!?). So I called Fred back. He was at my house within the hour, fixed the problem and gave me some advice on how to avoid the problem in the future. His work was great, his price fair and his manner very professional. I couldn't ask for more!

Be careful with this guy. I believe he is an excellent plumber. My experience with him lasted about 3 minutes. I had a leaking original zone and shut off valve on a pretty old boiler. I am fully aware that I may over time, have to replace all of the valves. However, I just spent a lot of money on car and other repairs recently, so was happy to do a piece-meal job for now. I was also not asking him to repair someone else's bad work. I had 4 valves, one was leaking. He wasn't interested in doing the job. When I told him I only wanted to replace only the leaking components, he went into an expletive filled tirade calling me an F'ing idiot. This is within 2 minutes. The last minute was spent with me telling him to get the f*** out of my house while he continued to rant. Afterwards, I texted him that I was unhappy with his behavior and was going to express this in a review. See his text response below. By the way I didn't bully him as he claims. I have never had an experience like this in my 52 years. I still have no idea what he is talking about regarding the inspectors enlightenment. I guess I am just stupid. Oh, and I'm going to die. Also, he didn't seem to notice the 7 cords of firewood, which I use to mainly heat the house. He was ranting so bad I couldn't get a word in to explain anything.

I will refute it completely because you are uninformed and an uneducated consumer either that or you're just a bully that a service provider will do you're your bidding with no concerns for a job done correctly. I have an A+ rating by not succumbing to bullying and being told how to do my job. You apparently dictate to service providers what will be done with no care or concern for the professional who is trying to Enlighten you too the Simplicity of replacing it all instead of putting bandages on and worse yet and I lost my patience completely seeing that you don't have the understanding that someone should have given you about the permits and inspections and due diligence that should be provided by anyone and I find it incomprehensible that no one has enlightened you to the Woodshop in your basement being sucked into your heating and hot water equipment! I've informed the local inspector hopefully he can Enlighten you. Carbon monoxide kills and no one has informed you I would rather be known as the bad guy but you'll be alive because I won't be told how my business should be done. Thank you for your consideration best wishes I hope you live long enough to enjoy that heat that is not used? Little adamant about the subject of life and death being a widower of just 3 years now. I hope that after the fact you'll go back and correct your knee-jerk reaction to my unwillingness to be coerced into doing service that could potentially kill your family. I won't put my blinders on more than that leak you probably want to have your boiler cleaned of all the wood dust which I will not offer you now thank you and again best wishes.

Fred Dolan is a reliable, thorough, honest, detail oriented professional. He communicates better than any other workmen I have ever dealt with, taking the time to explain exactly what needs to be done, when the job will be started and completed and gives updates as he progresses. Fred takes pride in, and responsibility for his work. He took it upon himself to replace an element in my hot water heater that he installed a year ago because he found out from the manufacturer that it might be faulty. Not only all that, but he also actually picks up the phone when you call! I highly recommend.

First of all, he recommended that I email pics of the plumbing problems where he was able to better determine the resolution without incurring any additional charges on my end. Had another plumbing company at my house to which I had to pay 75.00 for an estimate - which would be deducted for their service - needed a shut off valve replace - was quoted 810.00 - 1310.00 depending on the warranty - thought that was outrageous for an hours job tops. Called F L Dolan - call was answered by the owner - totally up front with labor costs - parts etc. - gave me a worse case scenario without seeing the job - it was less than 1/2 of the other company - ended up costing 1/3 - totally recommend F L Dolan.
