Fixer is a public benefit corporation and a certified B-Corp, founded by some of the same individuals behind GrubHub. We are fellow homeowners, DIYers, parents, and professionals like you.

Our team consists of over 50 passionate individuals, and we are continuously growing committed to ensuring that home repair and maintenance is easy and pleasant, while also creating real, sustainable career opportunities for local men and women.

Founded in 2017 and based in Chicago, IL, Fixer now serves Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, Phoenix, and Seattle. We are growing quickly, with additional cities coming soon!

Mike's journey into entrepreneurship began long before Fixer: after graduating from MIT with degrees in electrical engineering and computer science, he co-founded GrubHub while seeking a way to order pizza online. During his time leading GrubHub from 2002 to 2014, he saw that gig jobs, even when taken full-time, often do not provide long-term career opportunities. The gig economy became a complex issue for him, and Fixer serves as his answer – a thoughtful, W-2 employee, career-oriented approach. Mike chronicles his professional development in his memoir, Hangry, scheduled for publication in 2023.
