Fixer, a public benefit corporation and certified B-Corp, was created by some of the same people who started GrubHub. We are homeowners, DIY enthusiasts, parents, and professionals just like you.

Our team includes over 50 dedicated individuals, and we are expanding focused on making home repair and maintenance straightforward and enjoyable, while offering meaningful, sustainable career paths for people in the areas we serve.

Established in 2017 and headquartered in Chicago, IL, Fixer is now operating in Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, Phoenix, and Seattle. We are rapidly expanding with more cities on the horizon!

Mike's entrepreneurial path started before Fixer: after earning degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from MIT, he co-founded GrubHub during his quest to order pizza online. During his time leading GrubHub from 2002 to 2014, he saw that gig jobs, even when taken full-time, often do not provide long-term career opportunities. The gig economy became a challenge for him, and Fixer is his solution – a deliberate, W-2 employee, career-focused model. He details his career evolution in his upcoming memoir, Hangry, which will be released in 2023.
