Our team includes over 50 passionate men and women dedicated to ensuring a smooth and pleasant home repair and maintenance process. We also strive to provide real, sustainable career opportunities for individuals in the communities we serve.
Founded in 2017 and based in Chicago, IL, Fixer is now expanding to Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, Phoenix, and Seattle. We are rapidly expanding with more cities on the horizon!
Mike's first venture into entrepreneurship predates Fixer: after completing his degrees in electrical engineering and computer science at MIT, he co-founded GrubHub while trying to find a way to order pizza online. As GrubHub grew—and the gig economy it fostered—Mike realized that gig work can be a dead-end for those seeking lasting career advancement. The gig economy resembles my Frankenstein's monster, and Fixer serves as my answer to that—it's a purposeful, W-2 employee, career-oriented model. Mike chronicles his career evolution in a memoir called Hangry, which will be released in 2023.
