ivy y.We find them from home advisor and they helped to drain our clogged sewage pipeline. Juan is very professional and friendly. Highly recommended!
Eva Z.We had Fix-It Plumbing do a complete copper repipe, install a new main to the street with a clean-out, replace our kitchen/garbage disposal plumbing, and fix some issues with our shower fixtures.
Another plumber told us they'd have to tear open our bedroom wall to fix the shower. Juan and his brother Marco's years of experience allowed them to come up with a less-invasive and more cost-efficient solution. His team even found hidden issues and fixed them at no additional charge. They took care of all the permits and met the inspectors at the house when we couldn't be here.
Fix-It is licensed, professional, and offers very reasonable pricing. Juan is friendly and very dedicated to his work -- he really went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. He's our plumber for life!
Keith L.Juan just concluded his visit to my home, after getting a call from us just a couple of hours ago. We sustained some pretty significant damage due to a leak that we had while we were away on vacation. He put on coverings on his shoes prior to entering and was just about the nicest person you'd ever want to meet. While he was expertly taking care of our problem, he talked about baseball and fatherhood. It's a guy like Juan who you root for to have a successful business. I couldn't recommend Juan and Fix It Plumbing more!
shawn p.Hard water and galvanized pipes are a big problem with many homes in San Jose. So, I had Juan and his team at Fix-It Plumbing copper re-pipe my entire home, put in a water softener, add the hot water re-circulation pump, and RO filter under the sink. The entire job was excellent work I'm writing this now about 6 months after the installation, as I wanted to see if anything broke, leaked, etc. Everything is in great shape. His pricing is competitive and I would recommend his work to friends.
Juan has now installed the replacement water heater. He said he included additional materials at his expense. We are now awaiting verification from Eternal, the manufacturer, that the new water heater has been installed correctly and the warranty will cover it. Although this has taken weeks longer than I would've liked, I appreciate the efforts Juan has made to correct this problem. I believe that he genuinely prefers to have a satisfied, rather than unhappy, customer. As for the rough plumbing work, he continues to insist that he was following the instructions of the contractor, Edgar Bowie of ERB Construction.
Update: Juan called me back. For several weeks he has told me he wants to make this right. Eternal offered to reinstate warranty and replace the unit. However, to date he has still not succeeded in finishing the job and has offered a host of reasons. After talking with Eternal yet again yesterday, Eternal advised him and I confirmed that Eternal will reimburse him for the replacement within 72 hours upon proper installation. Because the patched-up heater is failing and because this is going on two months, I advised him that the replacement must be installed by 5 p.m. this Friday. If not, we will hire someone else and expect him to reimburse our costs. Stay tuned.
Juan: If you're reading this, please call me back!
Juan installed our tankless water heater last summer. When it broke in December, the company voided the warranty because it was installed so badly. I've now gotten the company to reinstate the warranty if Juan will consult with them on installation. But for the last two or three weeks, he has failed to follow up with the company and now has stopped returning my calls and emails.
(By the way, we installed the brand that he and our contractor recommended. Since then, he's told us we shouldn't have chosen that brand.)
Through our contractor, Juan also did the rough plumbing for our bathroom renovation in October. (1) He measured incorrectly for our in-wall tank, which only became clear after drywall, painting and time to install the bowl. LeBron James would've needed a step ladder to reach it. To fix it, the dry wall had to be ripped out, repaired and the bathroom repainted. (2) He measured the wall-mounted faucets too low. This became clear only after the cabinets were installed and the granite fabricated. To fix it, the granite had to be pulled off (it broke, of course) and replaced, along with fixes to the drywall. (Note: Juan blames the contractor for the incorrect measurements.)
Daniel W.Hot water stopped coming out of the shower at my rental unit in San Jose and I suspected that the cartridge needed to be replaced. I called Fix-It Plumbing on Thursday and left a voicemail. Juan called me back later that day and I explained to him the issue. He agreed and said that the cartridge sounds like the problem and he gave me a quote for the replacement. I scheduled for them to come out the next day on Friday. One of Juan's employees eventually showed up on Friday after being late. He removed the knob and front plate of the shower fixture and that's as far as he went. He didn't even take apart the fixture to get to the cartridge to see if it can be replaced. He then stated that he would be back later that day. Friday came and gone and I did not hear from them. I then called their phone and it went to their voicemail. I tried reaching them for the next few days with no luck and leaving them a voicemail each time. Finally they answered their phone a few days later and I asked them what is the status on my repairs. They stated that they cannot replace the cartridge because the fixture is too old and that they would need to replace the entire valve/fixture. Keep in mind that they never took apart the knob fixture to look at the cartridge to see if it indeed can be replaced. I was extremely angry at that point because I had to chase them down to be notified that they will not replace the cartridge. I told them I wanted a second opinion and called Champion Plumbing. Daniel from Champion Plumbing came out the next day and the first thing he did was to take a part the fixture to remove the cartridge. Long story short, Champion Plumbing found the replacement cartridge and fixed the issue that day. As for Fix-It Plumbing, the only reason I gave them one star is because you cannot give zero stars. I would NOT recommend them.
Chris W.Juan and his crew have done a fantastic job fixing a variety of issues with the plumbing in our new (to us) house - from the small (minor leaks) to the big (repiping inside the entire house, putting in a new water heater, and repiping from the water meter to the house after our moving in put a hole in the main under our driveway).
Juan is always very responsive, offers lots of options, delivers what he says, when he says, and does great clean work. I absolutely recommend Fix-It Plumbing.
S F.My old bath tub was well ... old and metal. It thwarted my attempts to remove the drain without cutting through some thick metal. So I asked my neighbor how she did it. It thwarted her too and she called Juan.
I called Juan on a Sunday. He called me 10 mins after opening on Monday for an appt. Gave me an estimate on Tuesday. Juan, Paolo, and Marco met me at Lowe's to pick up a new tub and supplies and was done in 2.5 hours on Wednesday.
I take pride in doing my own renovation projects soup to nuts. I have never hired a contractor. Juan made it too easy. His rates were so reasonable that I will likely not do my own plumbing work again.
Marie H.I had main sewer line clogging issues starting the day I moved into my house. Over the course of a couple years (and many plumbers clearing my line), I got several quotes for main sewer pipe replacement, but felt that none of the plumbers listened to my concerns that there may be problems with the pipe farther up than just between the house and the street.
Fix-It owner was the only plumber to quote me a price to replace ALL the outgoing pipes in the entire house (including the main line), and it was for less than quotes I had received to replace just the portion of the pipe between the house and the street. Also, the day he came to give me the quote he cleared my line and replaced the wax seal on my toilet for about 1/4 the cost I had been quoted from another plumber.
Many months later when the main line clogged yet again, I decided it was finally time to go ahead with the replacement, and was pleasantly surprised that Juan honored the original quote. Fix-It did all the work in two days during Thanksgiving week, with the bathroom ready to use in time for my guests. And it turns out that the sewer pipe did have a hole in it up near the foundation of the house and probably would have been a problem if the entire pipe hadn't been replaced.
If I had to make a complaint, after they left I realized the garage sink no longer was centered under the faucet (which comes out from the wall). I know they would have happily fixed it if I had called, but it was easier for me to just go to the hardware store, buy less than $10 worth of parts, and fix it myself immediately. No worries, all better!
Their work comes with a lifetime guarantee. So when the main line clogged again a few months later, I didn't hesitate to call and they came out promptly. Turns out it was a clog at the city level, not a problem with their work at all (I felt really dumb for bugging them), but they were super nice about it and did what they could to reduce the backup until the city could come out to clear it.
Will definitely call Fix-It again if I have any more plumbing needs!
Misc e.I had a pipe burst under my mobile home, so I needed a mobile home plumbing repair ASAP!
Juan came the next morning with 3 guys, they laid down plastic in my halls to avoid a mess, Juan even scrubbed down my tub after working on the pipes and left it squeaky clean!
What was initially a 2 day job turned into a 1-day job because they simply stayed an extra hour and a half to finish up. I'd definately call them again.
