I should start by saying that I appreciated that Five Star Plumbing actually answered/returned my calls, were able to accommodate me quickly with a semi urgent problem, quoted a reasonable price, and carried out the work per our discussion. That part was not a problem. However, I didn't appreciate that some innuendo was made towards our babysitter while we were not home (i.e. talk of trying to get her number). It was nothing she couldn't handle, and I think in his mind he was just joking around, but she didn't feel comfortable having this plumbing service back, and personally I find it very distasteful/unprofessional when contractors make any sort of comment along these lines towards young women who are alone in our house.

$650 to replace 2 pre excising small sinks ( I bought the sinks for $100 each) talk about rip off..... we're supposed to call 30 minutes before they arrived which they did not.... I would not recommend.

It turned out my plumbing issue was very simple. Kevin did not charge me, and I am very appreciative..

I hate, hate, hate to downgrade a business, but here's the story. Kevin installed a stainless sink and repaired a leak in my kitchen. The bill seemed high (actually VERY high), but I trusted him and left it at that.

Fast forward about 6 months and we're having our kitchen modestly updated. I intended to keep the new sink originally (it was less than 1 year old!), but two different repair guys asked me about it. I had already noticed the rust starting to appear on the surface. They both (separately and without me asking) told me the sink was a piece of crap and one of them told me if I paid more than $80 for it, I got hosed. Let's just say Kevin charged me a LOT more for it.

To be very fair - I should have called Kevin immediately when I noticed problems with the sink. I didn't. That was my fault and why I'm not giving a lower review. He can't fix what he doesn't know about. BUT he did install a poor quality sink and charged me for a premium one.

From my initial phone call and initial meeting with Kevin, I felt comfortable that I was dealing with a seasoned professional. He was very knowledgeable and immediately identified our plumbing issue, explaining things every step of the way. Additionally, he went out of his way to identify additional items in our basement to consider servicing down the road. Highly recommended! We will call him again should we run into any issues!

I contacted Five Star Plumbing by email on a Sunday night not expecting to hear from them until the next day. The next morning I found that Kevin had responded at 8pm on Sunday night! Although he wasn't the person who could solve the heating issue that I had, he referred me to someone who could. That person (Ken's Heating, 401-525-0730) came this evening (the same day I called him), despite being very busy, and had it solved within 20 minutes. I now have heat during a cold, cold spell and I really appreciate it.

I will be contacting Five Star Plumbing and Ken's Heating in the future. Thanks to both of them for taking the time to help me out.

I hired Five Star after I started having issues with my hot water tank. It was rather old and I knew it needed replacing. When I called the woman answering the call was extremely polite and actually made me laugh with her greeting (not because it was corny but because it was genuinely something that made you feel comfortable - it wasn't just the standard ""Hi, this is Five Star Plumbing. What."" if you know what I mean.)

After taking my information Kevin called me back later in the day and was able to give me a quote for everything, which was comparable to other quotes I had gotten. What made me decide to go with Five Star over some other places that may have come in slightly lower in price was these reviews. There is a reason people are giving Kevin and his company 5 star ratings. He was prompt, knowledgable, friendly, and technically went above and beyond what he needed to do to, by definition, ""just replace a hot water tank"".

I would certainly recommend them and certainly use them again.

Kevin was the 6th plumber in as many months to come and try to fix our toilet. We knew it was something more than just a regular clog. No one else was able to identify the problem, and lots of expensive and outlandish suggestions were made. It had been augured at least 4 times, but no one paid attention to what must have been going on like Kevin did.

Kevin came in and decided that something must have been lodged in the pipe, but that the others had somehow missed it. He then fixed the problem--a TOOTHBRUSH stuck in the pipe--in two minutes. He also tested the toilet out, flushing paper several times to make sure it wouldn't clog, and changing the water level, before declaring the job done. I was so happy I was BEAMING.

On top of knowing his stuff so very well, Kevin is so polite and courteous, and very friendly. We had a nice chat for a half hour once he was done. What a nice guy! And he loves pets, too. I have never done a Yelp review before, but I am so glad to do it for the first time for Kevin.

Five stars for Five Star. I'm a first time home owner on the east side of Pvd, and I have the easy task of simply agreeing with all the glowing reviews that appear here already. Keving was fantastic. I can only hope that some day I find contractors in other fields that conduct themselves and their businesses at this level.

Don't hesitate about choosing this company. Kevin was not only a an experienced professional, but he is a really nice guy too. We had a bunch of plumbing work done before putting our house on the market and Kevin did a great job. He got the work done in one day. He explained everything he did and was a pleasure to speak with afterwards. I would hire Kevin again in a second.
