Called up the company a few days ago to get a free estimate on major repairs in the basement. Some guy did show up a few hours later but he couldn't give me a quote and he roughly moved my dryer without any care (brand new dryer) which scared me since it's connected to gas. After that, he was on the call for a while and took a lot of pictures. I was told I can get a quote next morning but it's been 3 days and I've heard nothing. Can't imagine they can fix anything if they can't even provide a quote.

Wrong diagnosis and robbery

Let me preface my review with:
1 star to me means ""You suck and you should go out of business""

2 problems:
1. One of our toilets was humming
2. One of the bathroom sinks was draining slowly.

2 diagnoses:
1. The guy told me that it was not the pipes but the left toilet part that was reverberating fast and making this noise. Said the replacement would be $150
2. He said the slow drain is b/c the pipes need to be snaked through with their professional one instead of liquid plumbr and the like - $150. I told him I didn't think it was the drain b/c there's a bubble forming around the stopper. He insisted it was the drain.

Sucky remedies:
1. He 'fixed' the toilet song but it returned after 2 months. Been living here for eight years with no problems until this year, they come and fix it and it starts again in 2 months. Hmm...
2. It wasn't the snake b/c the sink was still draining slowly. Told me they did a great job cleaning out the drain by leaving me a mess. Anyway, when it started draining slowly again, he then told me it was the stopper and that replacement would cost me $300. What the frack!

So I had to pay out $300 for a job that was less than par. $300 for mediocrity. That's America!

I'm happy for those who've left positive reviews for these guys since they must've done a decent job but businesses are hard to trust when they're decent half of the time and rob you the other half.

In my situation, I don't care that they showed up an hour after the call b/c I'll take 4 hours after the call if it meant doing the right job and getting the results I needed.

I will NEVER EVER use these guys EVER again. You guys really suck.

I would really like to give no stars as they don't even deserve one star. Firstly the appointment time was for 6pm but no one showed up until 7:30. I paid for new hot and cold knobs at a cost of $250. Fast forward one month and 20 days later and the same knobs that were changed has an issue, the cold water won't turn off with this ""new knob"". I called 1st choice which should really be called last resort/last choice to have someone come to fix it. I was surprisingly told that the expense would be mine because the part only lasted for 30 days. Ridiculous! I would rather spend money and pay a new plumber than to ever give this shifty 1st choice plumbing another dime. Homeowners beware and proceed with caution, you've been warned!

The heat stopped working Saturday. Temp dropped to 50 degrees by Sunday morning. I started calling heating/cooling companies at 730 and these guys were the only one to promptly answer the call. We had Mo come over in less than 30 minutes. Very courteous and professional. I would highly recommend them.

Horrible service; Adam showed up an hour later than scheduled to fix a backflow valve in my water boiler. Two days later the boiler started leaking steam. They promised to be at my house at 6 pm; after waiting for 5 hours finally called at them at 11pm to make sure they are not coming.
Not only they have clue what they are doing but also have no concept of being on time.

Sunday afternoon me not being a plumber decided to unclog my daughters bath tub drain.
Bought this heavy duty draon cleaner ,and it worked,only the landlord downstairs tub was now backing up same issues my daughter had .
Call 1st time were there within an hour on a sunday evening ,he was proffesional immediately

I called them on a weekday around 5 and they had someone out in an hour. Nour was very nice and efficiently fixed our icky toilet issue. Hopefully won't have to use them again but I would!

Buyer Beware!

The service call was for a heating unit that was not keeping the heat running.
I told the tech the situation and problem of the unit and wanted options for fixing the problem.

1. I was told they offer free estimates, charged me $75 per 15 minute diagnosis which I already told the technician what is wrong with the unit. This part was annoying as the dispatcher on the phone assured me they won't charge anything after the free estimate... I understand I need to pay for the tech's time but don't tell me what I just told you and spend 15 mins diagnosing the problem with no real options to fix the problem....

2. Tech originally gave a quote of $250~ to clean the heating unit, but then at the end changed it to $450 quote (because I can take ""$75 off from my first visit and 15% off first time customer) Not sure why I was price gauged or they wanted to go against their ""honest pricing"" (shown on their website)

3. Spent less than an hour, looking at the unit and broke the chimney/exhaust piece and told me I had to replace it (he kept on knocking and banging the pipes, not necessary but did it anyways...) Also the tech did not turn off the unit electricity or gas before performing trying to run a ""diagnostic"" on the unit - protocol I believe for any repair on these type of units? I mean it says it right on the unit visual area...

4. Didn't bring any tools in, no badge, no credentials, I really didn't realize he was the technician from 1st Choice Plumbing...until I saw the truck in my driveway. (Customary to ask home owner if it is okay to park in the driveway before parking there...ask any repair/service tech)

5. The website claims there is a 15% off coupon for first time customers. When I asked the technician, he says it doesn't apply to service calls, okay?, I checked the website, no disclaimer saying it only applies to certain services...

Must be trick of the trade and not sure how they received all these 4-5 stars, but please double-triple check these guys as they are NOT on BBB ratings/accredited (false use of label/badge on their website) or any other review sites. Buyer beware!

We had a had a sewer stoppage over the weekend. I called to make an appointment for 830 and they showed up at 830. Nour the mechanic did a fine job and cleared the blockage.

Feels like my lucky day...
