Probably the best company I've ever dealt with regarding trusting my HVAC and plumbing to. They're family-owned and not super corporate, which gave a boutique experience.

When my heater went out during the dead of winter, they came out the same day I contacted and helped me out! Tim was super friendly and knowledgeable. It felt like a good friend helping me out, and didn't rob me after by overcharging me on labor. Heck, they ended up being $$$ cheaper than some bigger companies that quoted me.

I have a hot water tank that's leaking. I have a home warranty. First Choice came and determined the tank needs replacement and is still under warranty from the manufacturer. First Choice want to charge me $860 EXTRA for the replacement saying that all the upgrades and permit factored into the extra cost. I checked, the permit they wanted to charge me of $175 is not needed because City Hall for my town said, a permit is only needed if there's an upgrade to the system, and a like for like swap, no permit needed.

PERMIT--175.00 - so this isn't needed

ELECTRICAL MODIFICATIONS --185.00 - my tank is already its own circuit, They could not explain this charge

EXPANSION TANK--250.00 - Ripoff!! They run under $100 at the HW store

LEAD FREE SHUT OFF==125.00 - I already have one from the last replacement three years ago

WATER MODS--125.00 - They said this charge is for all the upgrades needed to bring the tank up to code but they couldn't explain how they came to this dollar amount.

There is NO way these charges are legit. I canceled the dispatch for them to replace my faulty hot water heater.

The manufacturer said they are replacing for free, it's still under warranty, it was brand new in 2019.
