Racing to make a dinner date I broke the shower lever last night and was not able to turn off the water. We have a partial water supply shut down so there was a trickle of water all night. I immediately searched and messaged Eugene from First Chicago and he said they would come today! Their estimate was accurate and they worked fast and well to fix our problem. They completed their work in about one hour and worked as a team to assess and respond to our needs. If you have a problem call Eugene and he will help you. Thanks for responding to our needs. If I you could do partial stars I would give them like 4.25/5. Great work, good communication, very accommodating, very pleasant to work with. Mine was a huge project that cost $26k. Moving plumbing, adding plumbing, installing a smart multi outlet shower, tankless water heaters etc. Very responsive when there's an issue. Would highly recommend for either small or large projects.

I contacted First Chicago Plumbing to fix a leaking toilet. Office staff were pleasant over the phone, and they provided an estimate over email with a couple pictures of the toilet and description of the leak. The plumber who came out was pleasant and professional. He realized the toilet wasn't secured properly to the floor (something I knew, but forgot to ask about initially), and demonstrated why that was the case (the flange was basically rusted to pieces). He needed to run out to as he didn't have the correct replacement part, but I greatly appreciated that compared to forcing me to schedule another service call. Overall, fixed the leak, fixed another problem I forgot to initially mention, and cleaned up well. Would call them again.

I've used First Chicago when it was I think just the owner, Eugene. Now it sounds like they have a small group of plumbers and a shop on Elston Ave. It's not surprising they are growing. Today, Jorge Serna was pleasant, fast, and gave me helpful advice about following through with their my own maintenance. Good communication, excellent service, reasonable prices. Highly recommended.

Just finished my appointment with First Chicago Plumbing, and after the disasters I have been dealing with from other contractors I've used, I felt compelled to leave this review on a business that does things right. Eugene was quick to respond and very professional over email. Scheduling an appointment was easy and they were able to make it out the same week.

Jorge and Sergio (I believe that was his name) were the ones on site. They were nice and explained everything to me. There was some work that was up in the air on whether it needed to be done, and ultimately they were able to get the job done without the additional work.

The biggest part of my work was correcting a disposal hook up my contractor horribly botched during my kitchen renovation. They were able to correct everything and hook it up correctly. It looks SO much better (see before and after pictures attached).

Everything was cleaned up and then tested in front of me to make sure it worked.

I thought the price was fair and very close to the quote I received. It's the city, so if you want good work you can't cheap out (as I've learned the hard way). Ultimately I was just happy to have actual licensed professionals who knew what they were doing.

I'll definitely use these guys again and keep them on my speed-dial for any future plumbing needs!

quoted an outrageous price before understanding the issue. when i sent supporting information requesting they proceed with 2 simple fixes before completely changing out my mixer, they never contacted back.

seems like most yelp plumbers are fishing for someone who they can scam.

Look no further, these people are amazing. After rejecting three other plumbing contractors who were either too expensive or too flaky, we hired First Chicago to replace all of the steel water pipes with copper in our 1904 house and install a new water heater. They showed up on time, explained everything, involved me in decision making, and did a really solid job. Eugene, who I think owns the business as well as works onsite, was very good natured and took delight in problem solving. When a couple of punch list items came up after the job, they came back within a week without argument to handle it. The woman working in their office was smart and pleasant. Their online customer interface sent detailed estimates, scheduling confirmations and text alerts when the plumbers were on the way. I was expecting this job to be awful but in fact it was wonderful.
