Company Overview

Finken Companies is a family-run business established in 1961 by Wilfred F. Finken, affectionately known as Wif in the community. Initially, it operated as a water conditioning service in Melrose, MN, named StaSo-Soft, functioning as an independent dealer. Wif, along with a partner, purchased Culligan Water in Sauk Centre in 1969, enhancing their market reach.

In 1976, the business transitioned into plumbing, abandoning the Culligan brand to become Wif Finken's WaterCare, which included the WaterCare franchise. This expansion included increasing storefronts and launching a new location. In 1995, Thomas G. Finken, Wif's son, took the reins and accelerated growth by acquiring several competitors. Alongside expanding locations, Tom diversified operations to include heating and cooling, spas, coffee services, underground sprinkler systems, and plumbing.
