Our main drain was clogged up, we couldn't use the restrooms without flooding the bathroom and water was coming into the kitchen. I called and two technicians came out, James and Brian, they had the main drain unclogged and flowing smoothly within 30 minutes. Very grateful for the professional and great job they did fixing out problem.

I had hired Fifeen Dollar to take a look at 5 different plumbing issues mostly related to low water pressure in faucets in various areas of my home. Here is a detailed account of my terrible experience with them:

1. I was given a 3 hour (9-12pm) time slot for my plumber to arrive. The plumber whose name is James got here only at 12.20 and worked for 2 hours until 2.20 pm - half my day totally wasted!

2. I asked him for his charges right away (thats what I was told by the company to do) and he first said $75 per job and immediately changed it to $125 per job and said it's because its in Menlo Park and he was coming all the way from San Jose. I told him that I thought that they were in Redwood City. I later looked up the address of the company and called the company (while the plumber was still working at my home and had run to the store to buy a spare part) only to be told they are out of Redwood City and that the plumber was giving me incorrect information and those are not their rates. They said they will call James and sort this out. He came back from the store and tells me that he will charge me by the hour - this is when all my work is almost done and it had been 2 hours. He does not tell me how much per hour until he hands me the invoice for $125 per hour (!!!) plus the cost of the parts for $60 for which he did not even provide me a receipt! I paid a total of $315.50 (see the invoice attached below).

3. He only solved 2 plumbing issues out of the 5 for me - low water pressure in the kitchen faucet and clean out shower head debris from bathroom shower to increase water flow from it.

4. He insisted that he had to change the dual cold angle stop to solve the kitchen faucet low water pressure problem and that it has been leaking - I told him it was not leaking and asked him to touch all the surfaces (and I did the same as well in front of him) to show him that there was no leak in the first place! I felt like he simply wanted to replace a part and charge me extra for something that did not need changing. I felt cheated.

5. He got done with all my work at 2.20 pm and was sitting in his van outside for 10 minutes when I went out to tell him that I had to head out. Only then he worked on writing down an invoice for the jobs done and tells me that he has worked for more than 2 hours but is only charging me for 2 hours! At this point I did not want to argue and was running late for my next appointment.

Over all, the plumber I got was very dubious and I will not be hiring this company for any plumbing related jobs. Stay away from this company and look elsewhere for your plumbing needs!

Their office scheduled our drain cleaning between 2-5 p.m. call them at 4:15 and been told that they are running late and will be in for sure, had to call them again at 7 p.m. asking if anybody is still coming. Got the call back asking if we still need somebody to be dispatch. The guy came in at 7:45 p.m. did the job in 30 min. If we didn't bug them we would not have the drain cleaned. Otherwise the technician did a good job.
They are OK, if you don't mind to wait.

I've had $15 come out a few times to clear the tree roots that block up my sewer line. This is sh-tty work, so I have been generally impressed with their workmen, who are consistently friendly and generally quite efficient. And I have always been able to get a same-day appointment.

Their rates have gotten exorbitant, though. Since I have used them, it has gone up from flat fee of ~$65 to $88 to now (October 2016) a one-hour minimum (at $125/hour!) Next time I'll shop around.

I called these guys when all the drains in my house started draining slowly... I suspected a main line sewer blockage and called these guys. Got a same day appointment- they called and asked if they could come earlier than the appointment, which was great-Benny Silva showed up and had the blockage cleared within 15 min. So glad I called before the problem backed up into my house! Now all the drains are running faster than they have since I bought my house. 95$ flat fee (which I had expected based on the quote over the phone). Will definitely call them again if needed. I chose this company instead of other more reputable ones on the basis of yelp reviews. Major mistake. I called and said water was coming up from our shower and our contractor had already come out and determined the line needed to be snaked. The plumber (Benny?) showed up and spent some time investigating the issue, then said he could snake it, but could not warranty the job as the company normal does, which made no sense to me. I had him call my husband to explain. We both were confused by the reason but needed it cleared. He did the work in about 10 min. Total time at our house: 65 min including the time for him to write up the bill in his truck. Bill? $142 (for 1 1/2 hours). Apparently the time to walk out to his car and write up the bill, which is the only reason we went beyond one hour, caused him to charge us for another half hour.

I called to complain. The woman who answered told me she would look into it and call me back the next day. Never did.

Avoid this company. Definitely shady.
