We received a flyer for free water test and supposedly we would receive a $50 Amazon gift card. Well we got the water test but decided not to buy the system due to cost, negative reviews and better business bureau complaints.
I notified the sale rep and inform him of my decision. He was short and abruptly hung up. Needless to say we did not get the gift card which is find by me but their lying business practices speaks volumes of their company and justifies the negative reviews. Also saved us a ton of money on a product and company that is below par.

Like other reviewers, my experience begins with a postcard delivered to my new address after purchasing a home. My escrow company warned me that scams like this were likely to come after a new home purchase. The postcard reads as follows:

NOTICE OF PARCEL ON HOLD
Request for addresee only

FINAL NOTICE

Tel --- --- ----
PLEASE CONTACT US WITHIN (3) DAYS

When I called they said that the parcel was a welcoming gift from the community and that they'd have to schedule an appointment to send someone by. I asked them the name of their company (since it was listed nowhere on the postcard, the caller sited "Sidelis" and spelled it that way when I asked them to spell the company name out. After googling and realizing that the company name was "Fidelis" I found these wonderful yelp reviews about the scam to send a salesman to your house and hold you hostage to hard sell a water filtration unit.

I called them back and cancelled the appointment posthaste, I advise everyone else to do the same.

Thanks fellow yelpers.

To the business owners, you can respond to this with a canned "This is how we reach out to the community" excuse, but you know what you're doing, and you should be ashamed. Go back through your past and figure out where you left your integrity, the rest of us would like you to rejoin society when you've found it.

Any company that used this kind of deceptive advertising is not to be trusted. I had never heard of them before I received this fake package delivery card in the mail. Obviously designed to look like a postal delivery notice. Watch out.

I got the postcard in the mail after purchasing a new home as well. I called the number thinking my S/O had talked about the water, so I thought it couldn't hurt and setup an appt for the presentation for today. However, I received no follow-up phone call "the next day to confirm appt", no rep showed up today, and now I'm thinking about how they just didn't come because I said no to having a spouse because they thought maybe she'd be a sucker? IDK but my day got messed up while waiting for someone who never came and didn't even call to say he wasn't coming.

Although we didn't end up agreeing to buy the product, but will be considering the option, Daniel and his wife gave us a very insightful presentation on what is good and bad about the water we use daily.

The five stars is based on their presentation and their understanding of our current situation without pushing us too hard for a sale.

I too received one of the misleading postcards in the mail after recently moving into our new home. It looked kind of fishy, but I went ahead and called the number because I had been ordering several packages and wanted to make sure I hadn't missed one. I was pretty surprised when the "parcel" they wanted to deliver was actually a gift card. To get the gift card, you have to let this company (Fidelis) "test your water". I let them schedule a time to come by, figuring they were trying to sell something but that I'd at least get a free gift card out of it.

The guy was at my home for about an hour, and went through his routine. They spend a lot of time convincing you how terrible the city's water is, then after all that they try to sell you their equipment on the premise that it will somehow drastically improve the city's nasty water. Doesn't make much sense. Then they go into excruciating detail about how much money you spend on soap and how they will provide you a lifetime of soap and shampoo. Pretty silly. If you're like me, you have a specific kind of shampoo and conditioner you use, and I'm not about to just use some crap they give me for "free". Then the salesperson will hit you with their hard sell tactics and try to get you to buy on the spot. My husband and I were definitely not going to make such a big financial decision right then and there, which clearly upset the guy. He was polite throughout the encounter, but you could tell he was a little frustrated. He made a comment about not wanting to waste anymore of our time or HIS. Lol ok buddy.

It's despicable how they try to take advantage of new homeowners through the postcards, and no, this gimmick is not a good way of introducing new homeowners to the neighborhood or whatever excuse the company uses to defend this tactic. If they had some class they'd be upfront and put their NAME on the card. It's a ridiculous amount of money (~8K) and based on the reviews, the system isn't worth it. Apparently there are annual maintenance "fees" and costs to replace filters. Any company that has to use tactics like this has something fishy going on and requires further investigating. OH- and I did ask the salesperson about their return/refund policy. They give you TWO DAYS to change your mind. That's it. This is ridiculous and turned me off even more.

Long story short, I did get the gift card, which is what I wanted, I really had no intention to buy anything and pretty much knew what I was getting into. This might be a good deal for somebody actually interested in getting a water softener, but do your homework and know their operation is sketchy from the get-go. I feel bad for new homeowners that don't know any better and let these people sucker them into a very costly, longterm financial decision that they will probably regret (see the other reviews).

We are delighted with not only the product, but the overall experience in which Fidelis offers!! Oscar was a joy to work with, he was not pushy and took his time to answer all of our questions. I would highly recommend Fidelis to any person who wants healthier, cleaner, and altogether better water! I feel so good about what I'm giving my children to drink, they have begun calling it the angel water. Installation was quick, and we saw immediate results!

Be careful of the scams they use to engage in sales. They will send fake looking postcards disgusted as the postal service to get your phone number, then they will put you on their list.

If I were anyone else, I would stick to something less shady with better reviews.

I am amazed with the replies that are being given to this spam and misleading use of postal cards.

1. The company name is provided but service and intent are NEVER given.

2. The attempt to mislead the recipient is similar to what a used car dealership or timeshare sales would do to attempt to bait in potential buyers.

3. Any elderly or unsuspecting person that was not keen to this misleading information would have likely wasted a trip to the local post office only to be told this has nothing to do with them.

It would clear up A LOT of the hate and anger towards this company if they would remove ALL phishing and misleading materials from circulation and focus on honest and worthwhile marketing.

I AM looking to install a water softener for the amazingly hard water here my area but this and all of the other phishing reviews I have found have only made me add this company to my "REFUSE TO DO BUSINESS WITH" category.

They will probably reply with some lame response like:

"Hello FIRST NAME, the post card is a tool used to reach our neighbors who have recently moved into the areas we service, so we can share some valuable information regarding the water quality in their area and to provide options they may not know about. The package is a gift for your time. Sorry we could not be of service for you and your family."
