Amazing company. I've had them come in for an extremely large job, replacing plumbing pipes on a second story bathroom which entailed breaking through ceilings in two rooms on the first floor. I've also called them for a few small jobs like replacing faucets and reattaching the hose for my ice maker. Both jobs were done meticulously by their very kind and cordial team. They Make sure the cleanup after breaking through the ceilings was to my satisfaction before they left. They also replaced my hot water tank and did a great job.
Before calling this company, please think twice, as they will not stand behind the work of the plumbers they hire and dispatch to a home. Though they responded quickly, and were friendly, the end result was not worth the cost. A simple installation of a pump ended up costing me thousands
Had Fickwood come out about a year ago to install a gas line for a new stove, they did an excellent job, and the cost was very good. Other companies wanted to charge for coming out for just an estimate. A+.
-About six months later, we had one toilet clog up, badly. So bad, that I pulled it off the flange and ""GASP!"", I called them. They came out, but recommended a local sewer snake company, and that company was awesome. I appreciated that Fickwood knew the limits of their snake, it need a bigger one, no charge for the trip and an awesome recommendation. A+
-Feb 2024. Our 26 year old Bradford White finally went, small leak, nothing crazy...yet. I knew it was terminal and not a simple fix. The previous owners x2, did not do any maintenance anywhere in the house, so I knew this thing was done, but 26 years is a long time. I called on a Thursday, told her what the issue was, brand and power vent. Got an appointment for Monday, but placed on a emergency call just in case. She called Friday afternoon and said the guys were on their way, I work from home, so not an issue. The techs that showed up were professional, kind and super clean. They replaced with Bradford White and did an excellent job in the installation and clean up. I tell everyone that this company should be the go to. The pricing is very fair and for something like a water heater is one price, which includes install. All you have to do is look up what a Bradford White heater costs (you can) and then ask yourself, is it worth buying a box store brand and then doing it yourself? Trust me, its worth the install cost, in my book for pennies on the dollar. A+
$235 dollars for snaking a drain that took 3 minutes and changing a flapper on a toilet that took 10 minutes. The next day we noticed water at the base of our toilet. I called as soon as we noticed the water, about an hour before closing. The receptionist was unprofessional, raising her voice to me on the phone, stating that she had no one to come out that night, forgetting I was the customer and calling me by my first name. I was offered an afternoon time the next day, which I told her was completely unacceptable. The plumber ended up coming out that evening after I had to beg. The company wanted to charge us another $135 fee for coming back out to fix their issue. There were additional parts he needed to change on the toilet to prevent the leaking. We were told that this was not a new problem, that there must've been water leaking prior to his visit the day before. I clean my bathroom biweekly and have never, EVER noticed water around the toilet on the floor. Clearly he altered the gasket and did not do a complete job. How disappointing for a local company to treat their customers this way. We should have known. We used Fickwood a year ago to fix our outside spicket, not realizing until the following spring that they never placed a shut off valve on the new pipe in the basement. When we went to turn on our hose outback, we had water rushing in our basement, ruining wallpaper and ceiling tiles. We were willing to give them another chance. Lesson learned. After 2 terrible experiences, we will never use Fickwood again! Too expensive and cannot complete a job correctly!
I would not recommend these guys. We had some very straightforward repair work needed for a commercial 3 compartment sink. They insisted on replacing the entire set of pipes and connections underneath for over $500. Less than 3 months later, they had to come out to fix their work. Now just over 2 months later, they charge me $135 to fix it AGAIN. Their explanation, it's commercial, we don't guarantee our work over 30 days. They also charged $275 to clean our grease trap. I only gave them 2stars because they might be more reliable on home plumbing, but i doubt they will be there when their work doesn't hold up.
We have used Fickwood Plumbing for years. You may not have seen a lot of advertisements, but they don't need to. Their quality work gives them the ability to grow their business from satisfied customer referrals. I normally do not highly recommend a company, but in this case, I do. Fred and Todd along with the rest of their team are an exception! If you have not used Fickwood Plumbing, what are you waiting for?
I had contacted Fickwood Plumbing to come to our Old West End home to install a new Delta faucet I had purchased for our one bathroom and, in addition, to replace some old metal pipe coming into a bathroom tub faucets which ran rusty water for a few seconds before clear water would come. A young man, Lucas, did the work. He was congenial, focused, and efficient. I always call Fickwood for my plumbing needs and they always send such capable, professional and pleasant plumbers.
Sandy B.Home repair can be nerve wracking and expensive and you don't want just anyone working on your home. Time and money are valuable commodities.
Fickwood Plumbing responded quickly, scheduled me promptly and kept me in communication before the technician's arrival. (He was actually ahead of schedule!) They replaced my faulty flange and reset my toilet, thoroughly and accurately explaining the ""why"" of it and remaining all very cost efficient. Conscientious, professional, experienced and cost efficient. Hands down, the best!
Very prompt on time service. Due to low water pressure all through our home, they suggested a system flush. Took care of the issue better than expected. They were on time, professional, and knowledgeable. Highly recommended!
Great reputable company! We re very prompt and thorough and explained everything needed to be done in my old home! Definitely on my contact list for the future!
