F & G has been my property manager for just over 3 yrs. now and they have been extremely good to me. I never have trouble getting in touch with them. Every repair request I've made not only has been done, it has been done in a timely manner. I love my apartment, it's quiet and well cared for and I'm very happy here. When my old pup passed away during Covid, flowers were sent to me and when I ended up in the ER one night, they thoughtfully called the next day to see how I was. It meant everything. No complaints! I highly recommend them!

Found out today through our neighbor that our property is no longer managed by this derailed trail of a team. It was shocking as they never notified the tenants nor did they communicate who and how we are paying our rent. Thankfully, our kind neighbor filled us in but add this to the list of irresponsible and bizarre behavior from Fertig. They have completely neglected the property in the last two months and have zero respect for tenants. I'd love to know where our thousands of dollars goes because they don't care about their properties.

I went to view the unit 800 S Azusa and was optimistic going in. I had my sister with me. We were greeted by the manager Dee. She was SO pleasant and welcoming. She made us already feel like we belong. Her warming attitude and beautiful unit made my decision to apply very easy. If all managers were like her there would be no vacancies

Worst management company I've ever had to deal with. In nearly 3 years I've never been late on my rent but had over 11+ service calls to repair my unit. And some clearly violating tenant laws like no hot water and they didn't want to replace my water heater. Had yo threathen to sue. And no heat in winter, took forever to get that fixed and froze with my kids inside. Gave me 1 small space heater for a 3 bedroom 2 story unit. Thansk alot! Had to threathen to sue. A leaking window that took over 2 years to properly replace. It ruined my rug from the water damage and curtains. A pipe burstvin the carport and damaged my csr and they refused to pay despite saying they would for repairs. Claiming they didnt see any damage. Yet 3 estimators saw damage? And everytime I complain about an issue I get a 3-day notice for my belongings in my carport which the owner had given me permission when I moved in prior to them being hired. Don't rent or hire them. Good tenants like me deserve a better and kinder management company.

Alert! To everyone looking to rent from Fertig & Gordon, please don't do it and save yourself from the most humiliating experience you will ever face as a tenant. Today, after paying my rent on time for the entirety of my three years residency, including through the COVID epidemic, I was finally pushed to filing a police report in response to being threatened by 20+ year old Fertig & Gordon employee Alyssa Lopez who said, ""I am not the one you want to be fucking with."" Really! Her threat towards me, 60+ years old with disabilities, came in response to my persistent requests for ethical, honesty, fair, lawful and equal treatment from the Fertig & Gordon staff, mostly Kristen Smith. Additionally, her threat literally demonstrates why I have been making such requests. She proved my point!

Other reasons for my persistency include: (1)Fertig & Gordon's failure to disclose that they received an extra monthly rent payment from my bank account followed by their refusal to participate in correcting the problem. Kristen Smith's arrogant response was, ""prove it!"" She implied that I was a liar and never apologized when she was proven wrong. (2)Fertig & Gordon's illegal discard of my original lease agreement that they replaced with one wherein they forged my initials and thus the agreement. (3)Fertig & Gordon's refusal to declare the neighbor above me a nuisance for disturbing the peace between 2:00 & 3:00 A.M. multiple times a week for the last three years. Imagine music pouring through the walls at that time in the morning. (4)Fertig & Gordon's illegally raising my rent and alleging COVID demands as the reason while at the same time reducing the rent of another tenant who is already paying 100s of dollars less then me in rent for the same amenities. (5)Fertig & Gordon's refusal to grant me the use of a second unoccupied parking space, as promised by Kristen Smith when I moved in, but allowing other tenants a second space. That includes tenants that moved in after me. When I reminded Kristen of her promise, she said ""prove it!"" Yes, that is a common arrogant and manipulative methodology she employs. (6)Fertig & Gordon's false allegation that I had non-sufficient funds in my bank account to pay rent and therefore I owe a late payment. Needless to say, Kristen Smith refused to participate in a scheduled telecommunication meeting with the bank. She refused to hear an independent third party tell her she was wrong. Months later Fertig & Gordon continues to charge me the late payment fee for that problem of which they created.

I can go on listing troubling circumstances with Fertig & Gordon and specifically Kristen Smiths and Alyssa Lopez's acts of unwarranted disrespect, unprofessionalism, acts of intimidation, inadequate business skills and bold behaviors of bias and discrimination in response to me standing up for the rights as a human and a renter. And I know my review greatly repeats in a more detailed and lengthy way the reviews of others before me. Nonetheless, to those who are looking to rent, I say be informed by my experiences with Fertig & Gordon. To those who are currently experiencing the same as a renter from Fertig & Gordon, I say protect yourself by documenting everything in writing, text, and photos to support civil litigation because my experience identifies that Fertig and Gordon will not be truthful when they are wrong. They will make you prove it even when it is obvious. And even after you have proven the truths, which I repeatedly have, Fertig & Gordon will not issue a sincere, adult and professional apology. My experience with them tells me they will not correctly state or investigate the event, they will not objectively identify what they did wrong, they will not state the steps they have taken to assure the circumstances won't reoccur, and they will not hold each other accountable.

I'm Still in disbelief that I was threatened.
My next stop is the housing authorities and beyond.

Don't deal with this company. Extremely unprofessional. Their agent doesn't show up to appointments, doesn't pick up calls, or reply to messages. I'm glad I found out how untrustworthy they are before doing business with them.
