I had a clogged bathroom sink & bathtub...Fernandez Plumbing was referred to me by a family member....I called them and they gave me a reasonable estimate...even though I lived outside of the city. Omar was very professional....and he & his assistant arrived in a timely manner....and very considerate, he even called me 30 min prior to notify me that he was in route. He took the time to explain what had to be done...and exactly what the problem was. He was in and out and honest. He didn't charge me for the bathtub because he said it wasn't necessary being that the clog was mainly in the sink, another plumber might of took advantage of the situation and would've pretended to do the unnecessary work? So I have to give him an A+ for honesty. I would definitely use their services again.

We flushed a tube a toothpaste down the drain and he was able to get it out by snaking the toilet for less than 5 minutes. He had quoted my boyfriend $25-$150 depending on if he had to remove the toilet or not. When I asked him what it would cost he said $125 and I questioned the cost and he said he would never charge $25 for a service. I ended up paying $125 for a 5 minute job. Not worth it at all. Totally took advantage of me being a woman.

I had a bad experince with a family owned company I called them and they came out . And the first day they stated that if they didn't get my drain cleared out no charge and will return the following day. VERY DISAPPOINTED when father arrived he appeared to be nice but there out for the money thats all. Yes the drain went down and they were there for about two hours. Approximately so there was still junk coming out and he said were done and i said but you need to continue to rod it until nothng comes out and he said we are done, He was not nice anymore just looking to go TO another job site. VERY UNHAPPY AND OVER CHARGE ME 300 WAS SUPPOSE TO COME TO MEET WITH THE INSPECTORS, THE INSPECTOR SHOWED UP FROM THE CITY THEY NEVER SHOWED UP. Just becasue you get referred by other family members and your company is going ok..Doesn't mean you have to take people money and run with job half ass done. I will never use this company again nor pass on your infor to anyone. BAD COMPANY!!!!!! JUST CUZ ITS A BUSY DAY YOU NEED TO FINISH UP WITH THE JOB YOUR GETTING PAID FOR!!!! BEFORE DUMMPING THE PERSON TO RUN TO THE NEXT JOB. AND MY DRAIN STILL BACKS UP BECAUSE YOU DIDNT FINISH THE JOB!!!!! OVER PRICE .....

Fernandez was extremely helpful with what we thought was a simple ""sewer gas smell"" in the basement. He came out and informed us that the catch basin had to be cleaned out. It hadn't been done for a VERY long time! When he did it, he found a blockage on the city side and said he couldn't finish the work so he didn't charge us anything! It's their policy to only charge when they can get the job done. He said he would contact the city for us and he did. We contacted the city too, but he got it done faster. The city came out and fixed the problem. After that, we paid him a reasonable fee for handling everything. We recommend Fernandez highly!

I've had a small apartment building for 38 years and depended on the Fernandez family to do numerous jobs including rodding and installation of a sewer backup system.

But older people in the business drop out and newer ones take over, and sadly I have today crossed these people out of my address book for good, as the service has been increasingly poor in recent times, and today was the last straw. Over the years they've received thousands of dollars in business from me, but this is the end. They will never get another call from me. Too much hassle and lack of dependability.

When I called today to see if they could rod some drains, the man quickly said ""Let me call you back in 2 minutes!"" and hung up. An hour and a half later I called again. This time he said, ""Give me just one minute...."" I thought he was putting me on hold but he had hung up again. (He didn't know who I was, I could have been anybody.)

Forty minutes later I called a third time. This time, and I don't know if it was the same guy or a different one, I was told ""We can't come out today."" I said I didn't ask about today, I asked about tomorrow. He said, ""We can come next Tuesday,"" which would be a week from today.

I know plumbers are busy, but a week? I think these guys just work when they want to, anymore, and this experience today was like the last few times I've called them... they seem disorganized, unable to just take a call and either make an appointment, or not. And it just becomes a huge waste of time.

I'm under the impression the old man of the family takes calls and then maybe, if you're lucky, he'll call one of his relatives to see if they want the job, and they might get back to you or they might not. When I identified myself as one of their long-time customers (and someone who has gotten them lots of business through referrals from me), it didn't seem to make any difference at all. Not that I expected them to automatically make some kind of exception, but they didn't even act like it mattered or that they cared. It was as if I was bothering them just to call. Seriously! It was as if I was some yahoo off the street bothering them. Who needs that kind of indifference?

Years ago, when the dad was full time in the business, this outfit was great. No more.

This is the 2nd time that I've used Fernandez in 4 months and both jobs were done well. I cannot think of a reason not to give 5/5, although this is not something that usually do.

Job #2 was a burst flex water line in the bathroom with an inaccessible (and non-operational as it turned out) water valve. Water to the whole building had to be turned off. The plumber called back in the time expected and showed up within an hour, as promised.

Within an hour, a new valve was installed in a position where it can be turned off and the toilet reseated.

The first job that I used them for was during a another project laying concrete, again time was an issue because the plumbing problem discovered was holding up the project.
