Became a ""Comfort Club"" for simi-annual checkups.
On their first checkup they said I need to replace the filter but they
did not have the filters or tell me what type of filters I needed.
It was required of me to go under the house to do it my self, twice
Waited for the second semi-annual checkup & requested this include the filter change. BUT, they informed me this would require 2 Visit Charges, one to find out what filer & second Visit to install. They finally agreed to wave the second charge, BUT they charged me $100.00 for the filter, they sell at Home Depot sells them for less than $10.00.
RIP OFF!

The repair folk were courteous and professional. But the pricing scheme is terrible: a flat fee to replace the furnace inducer motor (about $1000). The motor itself is $93 from Amazon (maybe $300 from the local distributor, and it took 15 minutes to install. I called the customer service representative who explained that it is fixed pricing no matter the cost of the part or the labor needed to install. I phoned another local company and was told that if I buy the part, they could install it for a $105 service call. That would have saved a lot of money.

I've been without air almost a month. First, FH&A sent the wrong tech - one that couldn't work in my system and was here less than 3 minutes. Next, after waiting several days to get a qualified tech here - they said they would have to order a part. After another week, they showed and installed the part - only to realize that wasn't the problem after all. Again, they needed to order a part. After two days of hearing nothing- I called. They part was still not ordered because they FH&A had failed to send the diagnostic report to my home warranty company. I've left voicemails for the service manager, Matt, but have not heard anything back. Again - one mistake after another and - and meanwhile I'm without AC for almost a month. Still waiting.

I will present the facts and let the reader decide if they want to use Fayette Heating and Air. Our home was built in 2003 and has duel zones, there are two AC units outside and are original to the home. Recently, the downstairs AC unit was not working, the fan wouldn't switch on. Knowing that these units are nearing the end of their lives, I scheduled three companies to come diagnose the problems and provide solutions. Fayette was the first to come, a very nice young man. I showed him the attic door where there was access to the air handlers and coils. He went outside and looked at the unit for a while then came in. He told me that the unit needed the fan replaced, but he was able to re-start the fan by poking it with a stick. I never saw him take apart the unit or attach any testing equipment to it. He then handed me three invoices to repair the motor, starting at $1,600 and increasing. He also told me that the units needed to be cleaned using a chemical bath and told me the charge for that. He thought the units would last a while if this repair was made. I paid $79 for a diagnostic visit, although it did not meet the description on the invoice. He basically looked things over, but did no diagnosis.
The next day another company showed up. The technician went into the attic and inspected the air handlers and coils. He also attached diagnostic equipment to the attic parts and the unit outside. He also took apart the outdoor unit and informed me that the fan did not go on because the capacitor was bad and not enough amps were getting to it. He replaced the part for around $150, I paid for a diagnostic visit and part. All has worked well since. I also scheduled a third company, Cecil's who came out as well. He also did a thorough diagnostic visit on the units in the attic and the outside unit. He showed me that there was a heavy layer coating the fins on the unit so I paid for a simple cleaning (no chemical bath) so I could see how he took it apart and cleaned it. I was then able to clean the second unit thoroughly which resulted in it cooling much better as well. Cecil's also provided a bid on replacing the units if they should stop working. The tech thought I might get a few more years from them.
As for Fayette Heating and Air, they basically did not fulfill their description of a diagnostic visit. The head of customer service called me asking what happened, but at no point offered a refund. He did not offer an apology for charging me for work that did not take place. This would have been the ethical thing to do. So, when another rep called to schedule more work, I let him know I would never hire them for any work.

We started using Fayette heating and cooling about two years ago. We have several rental properties, commercial buildings and a private home. Our private home has seven furnace units. We were convinced to join the Comfi club and it would save hassle because all of the units would be well taken care of. We pay for each unit every month however we have more problems with the units now than ever. The straw that broke the camels back is. We have two new units they installed one year ago. One of these units stopped working yesterday and I called Fayette to see if they could get it working. When they came they said the drain line was blocked off and shut the safety switch off. Which is how it should have operated. The issue I am not happy about is they charged over $300 to get the unit working. I don't believe a new drain line should have clogged in less than a year I also don't believe that since the unit was serviced by them less than three months ago that the drain line should have clogged. They told me that it's lack of maintenance that caused the problem and my issue is they are the ones that I've been paying to do the maintenance since it was installed one year ago. I now believe when they come out to do a maintenance call all they look for is things that they can charge me more money for. They don't do any preventative maintenance. It is a total waste of time and money. This has been worse than a timeshare ,don't waste your money,.

I had a gas leak and needed an emergency repair. I contacted Fayette Heating and Air on Friday, May 15, 2020, and was told they could be there after 4 but the rate would be higher. I agreed to the higher rate because I thought this was a reputable company (I obviously hadn't read the reviews). I then contacted the gas company to cut off the gas and started driving almost two hours to meet the plumber at 4. At 3:45 I received a call from a different person with the company who informed me they could not be there until Wednesday of the following week! I told them I has already had the gas shut off and I couldn't believe they were telling me 15 minutes before the appointment they couldn't be there for five days! I was put on hold so the woman could speak to the owner of the company but he still said they couldn't ""fit me in"" when I was already booked earlier. After I hung up, I received a call from the owner and he let me know they were over booked because they had a contract with the city and the city had an emergency and they came first. It is now the week-end. I have no hot water and I can't get another plumber here until Monday. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

Words to the wise regarding Fayette Heating and Air:
After more than $1500 in repairs in the last 45 days, they tell us now that the whole unit needs replacement and the price is $10,500. We get a quote for the same system for $5,100. They lower theirs to $6,500 (amazing how the price went down $4,000 in 1 hour!!!). We say no thank you but how about refunding some of the $1500 we spent because you misdiagnosed the problem? Oh No - we don't give refunds. Also they will not refund what we paid for their Care Club, since we won't be using them ever again. Expensive lesson learned but we will be sharing our experiences with everyone who will listen.

Stay clear of this company unless you enjoy throwing your money away.. Better Business Bureau is next on the list to contact.

Very expensive service... I was charged 210 dollars for 5-minute reprogramming of my new ecobee4 thermostat.

I requested a technician to come to check my Air conditioner as my electric bill was higher compared to the last year.. he found nothing wrong with the system. I suggested to him that it might be the newly installed ecobee4 thermostat. He checked the wiring was good. He found out that it's set up to auxiliary heat as primary and reprogrammed it and charged me 210 dollars without letting me know it will be that expensive prior to the reprogramming... Imagine, 5-minute setup of the thermostat and they charge you 210 dollars.. I will never recommend them to anyone
