Brandon K.I called Farnsworth because they were the installers and the unit was under warranty. I called them on Sunday and was told someone would come out on Tuesday. Tuesday came and went and no call and no show. I called back Wednesday and was told someone would be out Thursday after 3:00. At 2:00 I received a Voicemail saying Joe was at my house and we didn't answer. My wife was home and our security cameras showed the tech went to my side gate, walked back to his van and left. Didn't even step foot on my driveway. ?
Farnsworth Heating and Cooling was the contractor that New AC Unit .com arranged to do my install. They do up sell you on new pan, wiring, etc. I could have said no to any additional charges but agreed to the final amount. The install went fairly well. They did have the condensation lines crossed and returned to fix it. I gave the installers the paperwork for my SRP rebate of $900. SRP requires that the contractor fill out their portion. My install was June 24. SRP has notified me that they have sent 5 requests to get the paperwork that was submitted corrected. I have called Farnsworth's office 3 times , leaving messages with the receptionist to check the status of my rebate paperwork and call me with an update. I have never received a call back. I am so frustrated. It is September and I have no idea what is going on.
Ken B.We purchased the best system they offered us with a 10 year warranty. They supposedly offered 24-7 service. In truth they have an answering service that takes calls 24-7 but we found out that they rarely send the messages they take to Farnsworth. Our system started breaking down 3 months after it was installed. The first time it quit working here in AZ it needed a firmware update at the furnace. We were charged $40 for the privilege of getting the system running again. Evidently Goodman systems can just shut down if they need a firmware update and for some unknown reason you get a bill for it regardless as to when it was installed. It failed again less than 2 years into our ownership. It took several days to get them back out to take a look. It had an error code and they reset it. No charge that time. Two days later it failed again. We spent 2 days trying to get ahold of them and left multiple messages with their answering service but the service didn't send them the messages. Our elderly mother was in the house with temperatures well over 100 degrees. We called another Goodman dealer to take a look at the system and they said the compressor failed. We finally got ahold of Farnsworth and they sent someone out a day later and they agreed the compressor failed. At first they said it would cost us $1,500, then it was $2,500, then it was $1,900. They said it might take 8 weeks to get the parts and that we should have bought a different brand system. I told them I bought the best one I was offered and asked why they sold me this one if it wasn't any good? With their terrible response times, ever changing pricing, large charges for something supposedly covered by warranty we decided to fire them and called another Goodman dealer. They did the job, not under warranty for $1,500. Considerably less than Farnsworth with a warranty. I highly recommend not working with this company. Their warranty repairs will cost you more than hiring another company and paying full price for repairs!!!
Laurie J.Farnsworths Heating, Cooling and plumbing were the contractors that NewACUnit.com chose for our installation of two A/C units. The front office was professional and friendly. Joe came to our home prior to install to verify our specific needs. The crew that installed the units handled the job with ease. Thank you Farnsworth for a job well done! You have a great team and know what is required to get the job done!
Worst company I have ever ""tryed"" to do business with...
My air conditioner was installed less than a year ago... last April...
They had installed a digiital thermomiter than ran nonstop and I never fully understood how to work it. Last November 3 days before Thanksgiving it stopped giving me heat. I called the office and told the person answering the phone that I needed someone to come out. Next day I called again and she said she didn't know as their workers were all busy. I again told her that I had NO heat... She didn't seem to think that was important. No one called back and no one showed up. I called again the next day (Wednesday) .
I was told that everyone had gone on Thanksgiving vacation and would not be back in the office until after Thanksgiving!! that was another week away!! I live in a plus 55 neighborhood by myself. I was at that point facing at least 10 days without heat and none of them cared, not to mention over Thanksgiving!!!
After Thanksgiving was over I called again and someone else answered the phone and said she was told all my problems had been resolved!! Really????
Finally someone was going to come out! The guy that came had a big scrowl
on his face and was clearly upset that I had complained... I asked for a different thermostat that I could control, and instead he replaced it with the same one, that wasn't even programmed right. I had to call the company that made it for help (more than once). I struggled with this thermostat until earily March when i lost heat again. This time, I went to Lowes and bought a basic thermostat and called Farnsworth to come out and change it. Someone came out on the 5th, installed it and left. A few days later I went to turn the heat on and reliezed it wasn't connected!! so I called Farnsworth back on the 10th and the11th to once again tell them I had NO HEAT!! 4 days later they sent same guy out to hookup the heat. He then left. Furnance would come on but fan didn't work! got my space heater back out. This time I had had enough and called a repubtuble company that was at my house within 30 min... They checked it out and in 5 min discovered that it was hooked up to gas and not electric:(:( I have heat now!!! and I realize i have been played and taken advantage of. This is not a company you want to do business with.
as part of the deal, they included a 3 year preventive maintance agreement
to which I believe they never had plans to make good on, and a 2 yr labor warranty that Im sure they will never make good on...
I wish so much I had never believed all of these "" great reviews"" that they post... that couldn't possibly be true. There ought to be a law... Maybe there is... I should at least get a rebate on the warranties that I paid for, but will probably never see. I have no plans to have anything more to do with this company in the future, and Im sure I will be better off...
Tracy O.We ordered a unit through NewACUnit.com we had Farnsworth come out and do the initial inspection. They quoted us additional charges to ensure the Unit was to code and would not give us issues, they also explained WHY these changes were needed unlike the 2 other very reputable companies did not! We have 2 units but were only going to replace 1 since it was not in the budget. They worked with us and got the second unit 500 less than NewAcunit and great financing. Within a week they were out and replaced both units in the single day. They were efficient and tidy. We were beyond pleased with their work and the experience! We have recommended them to our friends and neighbors.
After talking about my situation with the owner and receiving an explanation of the situation and the work done, it's apparent that the issues I've encountered were not solely due to the work of Farnsworth Heating and Cooling but also due to the lack of communication and follow up from newACunit as well. The owner was very personable and easy to talk with and understood my confusion and was willing to work with me to determine where there was miscommunication and to help resolve the issues. He was also able to explain to me how the installation was managed and why and was able to fix the minor issues I pointed out.
While there are still some details that need to be followed up on, I respect the owner and have a more favorable view of this company as a result of our conversation. It's not every day that the owner of a company will take the time to explain things and talk to you so that as a customer, you can understand why and how things get done. I was satisfied as a customer and look forward to continuing to work with this company when the need arises.
Do not use Farnsworth Heating, Cooling and Plumbing. We bought a new AC unit last year, spent $8000. 4 days after the one year warranty went out, the compressor failed. They came out and suggested a get a start assist to 'kick start' the compressor. They made a big deal on how I was getting a great deal for $250. That worked for a day and then the AC unit stopped. Then they came out the next day and installed a dual run capacitor for $150. That worked for two days. Then they came back out and said, yeah, you need a new compressor. Goodman won't cover it (which is not Farnsworth's fault), but now Farnsworth says that they can't even get their hands on a compressor and have 'recommended' that I replace the entire condenser for just $2500, once again telling me I am getting a great deal. It would just be easier to give them my bank account number and have them withdraw money as they see fit. Avoid them at all costs, run. Find someone better. Don't risk going through what I am. At this point, I will pay the money for a new compressor, but to someone else. I am not going to give them another dollar out of my wallet.
Update. I contacted another company, the AC Doctors, and explained my situation to them. Like Farnsworth, they said that replacing the condenser would be the fastest fix. Unlike Farnsworth, they told me that the condenser is covered under a 5-year warranty and I could have it installed for $1200. So Farnsworth was willing to overcharge me $1300. And despite Joe's response, they have not offered to refund me for the two useless parts, they offered to credit me for the those if I bought the new condenser through them. Joe (since Yelp reviews seem to be the easiest way to contact you), please take those parts off my unit and refund me.
2nd Update. I have tried to contact Joe to get the refund that he stated already happened in his response to my review, but calls and messages are not responded to. I also tried to contact his installer Chris, but he doesn't answer my phone call either. AC Doctors have been awesome in terms of communication and punctuality. I will review them on Yelp shortly. I'm already predicting a better review than Farnsworth.
This company is an embarrassment to all reputable companies. Their reliability is in the garbage! We had a service contract with them, that as long as it was their scheduled maintenance they attended to it - always finding something to which we needed to additionally purchase. When we had a problem and our air conditioner stopped working one tech came out and thought it might be a short in our fan and claimed there was some difficulty in obtaining the part. His temporary fix didn't work well so we called Farnsworth again the same night with no response. Phoned them again twice in the morning and supplied our details, and tried the tech's number also again - no answer only to be defaulted to his voicemail. Another day when by and no response from the company or the tech, so we phoned again. And they are consistent - no response despite telling us they would mark it URGENT. We phoned another company who came out within 2 hours, found the part, picked it up and installed it all within a matter of 3 hours start to finish. (BTW this tech said it was a really tight squeeze to get at the part so who knows how the original tech managed to get there in the first place). Twelve hours after our last phone call to Farnsworth we are still waiting to hear back from them. Games people play! Game over.
I'm waiting to see if they fix my problem if they do I will edit my review. My wife is reaching out to the owner and we will see if it makes a difference
