After talking about my situation with the owner and receiving an explanation of the situation and the work done, it's apparent that the issues I've encountered were not solely due to the work of Farnsworth Heating and Cooling but also due to the lack of communication and follow up from newACunit as well. The owner was very personable and easy to talk with and understood my confusion and was willing to work with me to determine where there was miscommunication and to help resolve the issues. He was also able to explain to me how the installation was managed and why and was able to fix the minor issues I pointed out.
While there are still some details that need to be followed up on, I respect the owner and have a more favorable view of this company as a result of our conversation. It's not every day that the owner of a company will take the time to explain things and talk to you so that as a customer, you can understand why and how things get done. I was satisfied as a customer and look forward to continuing to work with this company when the need arises.

Do not use Farnsworth Heating, Cooling and Plumbing. We bought a new AC unit last year, spent $8000. 4 days after the one year warranty went out, the compressor failed. They came out and suggested a get a start assist to 'kick start' the compressor. They made a big deal on how I was getting a great deal for $250. That worked for a day and then the AC unit stopped. Then they came out the next day and installed a dual run capacitor for $150. That worked for two days. Then they came back out and said, yeah, you need a new compressor. Goodman won't cover it (which is not Farnsworth's fault), but now Farnsworth says that they can't even get their hands on a compressor and have 'recommended' that I replace the entire condenser for just $2500, once again telling me I am getting a great deal. It would just be easier to give them my bank account number and have them withdraw money as they see fit. Avoid them at all costs, run. Find someone better. Don't risk going through what I am. At this point, I will pay the money for a new compressor, but to someone else. I am not going to give them another dollar out of my wallet.
Update. I contacted another company, the AC Doctors, and explained my situation to them. Like Farnsworth, they said that replacing the condenser would be the fastest fix. Unlike Farnsworth, they told me that the condenser is covered under a 5-year warranty and I could have it installed for $1200. So Farnsworth was willing to overcharge me $1300. And despite Joe's response, they have not offered to refund me for the two useless parts, they offered to credit me for the those if I bought the new condenser through them. Joe (since Yelp reviews seem to be the easiest way to contact you), please take those parts off my unit and refund me.
2nd Update. I have tried to contact Joe to get the refund that he stated already happened in his response to my review, but calls and messages are not responded to. I also tried to contact his installer Chris, but he doesn't answer my phone call either. AC Doctors have been awesome in terms of communication and punctuality. I will review them on Yelp shortly. I'm already predicting a better review than Farnsworth.

This company is an embarrassment to all reputable companies. Their reliability is in the garbage! We had a service contract with them, that as long as it was their scheduled maintenance they attended to it - always finding something to which we needed to additionally purchase. When we had a problem and our air conditioner stopped working one tech came out and thought it might be a short in our fan and claimed there was some difficulty in obtaining the part. His temporary fix didn't work well so we called Farnsworth again the same night with no response. Phoned them again twice in the morning and supplied our details, and tried the tech's number also again - no answer only to be defaulted to his voicemail. Another day when by and no response from the company or the tech, so we phoned again. And they are consistent - no response despite telling us they would mark it URGENT. We phoned another company who came out within 2 hours, found the part, picked it up and installed it all within a matter of 3 hours start to finish. (BTW this tech said it was a really tight squeeze to get at the part so who knows how the original tech managed to get there in the first place). Twelve hours after our last phone call to Farnsworth we are still waiting to hear back from them. Games people play! Game over.

I'm waiting to see if they fix my problem if they do I will edit my review. My wife is reaching out to the owner and we will see if it makes a difference

Where to begin. My father has used this company in the past for routine checks and maintenance without issue. This week they called Farnsworth because the air quit and my mother is elderly and ill. They came out and charged my father close to $200 to install a thermostat that you could purchase at Walmart. The tech was there no more then 90 minutes and told my father he was getting a 20 percent discount. How sad that these thieves are out raping the sick and elderly. The owner would not call us claiming a death in the family in Utah. Another person from the office told my father they charge what others charge.

On the recommendation of an acquaintance, I set up an appointment to have a routine a/c checkup, in March 2016. (My new system was installed in 2013.) The technician said I should have a capacitor, compressor start kit and surge protector installed and those were $252, $292 and $225 respectively, BUT if I signed up for a $900 5-year contract, they would be included. I know nothing about this stuff so assumed they were being honest and that I really needed these things. I bought the contract but wish I had just said thanks, and goodbye. Since then, every time they come to do the routine checkups, they try to sell me something. In fall of 2019, again I had the routine checkup done. Again, I was told I needed several things that amounted to $800. I told them I'd think about it. I was suspicious that the ""work"" was not really needed and called another company which has a reputation for being honest. (Note here that Farnsworth said they would include coil cleaning at no charge if I had the rest of their recommendations done.) The second company found only one item that Farnsworth had recommended be replaced/fixed, BUT they did find I had a refrigeration leak and the indoor coil was in need of replacement. They took me through the process step by step and with pictures. I have called Farnsworth's office twice and asked for a refund of the balance of my service contract. I'm getting no response from them other than the boss was out of town last week and she would send him another email regarding my request for refund. I have yet to hear from them and it's been two weeks. BOTTOM LINE: I DO NOT RECOMMEND FARNSWORTH HEATING COOLING AND PLUMBING. IF I GET A REFUND OF THE REMAINING TWO YEARS OF THE CONTRACT, I WILL UPDATE THIS REVIEW. Finally, the access to my attic and the equipment therein is rather small, but most of the techs have been overweight, limiting accessibility to the attic. Wouldn't you think that they would have noted this on their reports to ensure complete accessibility to the attic in order to properly inspect the indoor coil and other equipment? Yeah, that's what I think also.

These guys are very dishonest and a bunch of crooks! AVOID AT ALL COST!!! They wanted to charge me $500 for a simple wiring job that another company charged me $140 to do. WARNING, DO NOT USE THESE GUYS PLEASE. !!!

On Monday, 7/23/18 we came home to find out that our AC unit had stopped working. We checked out the thermostat and the breaker, but found out both were okay. By that time, it was after 8 PM. Since our neighbors use Farnsworth Heating and Cooling, we decided to give them a call. When we called we got Justin (a Fransworth HVAC technician). He said he could make the after hours service call even though we were not regular customers and would be at our house in 40 minutes. He arrived on time and corrected the problem by installing a dual run capacitor (the old one was dead!). He then proceeded to do a complete check on the compressor/condenser system as well as check out the inside air temps after the unit had run for a while. We highly recommend Justin and Farnsworth Heating and Cooling Company.

No call no show. Took my business elsewhere. Unprofessional. Never recommending this company. Too bad Farnsworth name used to have a good reputation.

Farnsworth only got 1 stars and that's tfrom me because I was second on the list today to get my ac looked at. Chris had to go to Casa Grande first thing this morning then he was coming to me and he didn't even call or come by. This is not good business! He promised he was coming by to look at my problem. Well I gave them a chance, now it's time to move on to another company that knows how to treat its customers. Update: Chris came out Tuesday and helped me hopefully get things straightened out. I'm putting in one of those real cheap filters.
