These guys are good and reliable and fairly priced for the quality they provide. My only quibble is that because they are in demand scheduling takes awhile. But on a positive note once they are onsite they don't leave until the job is done to your satisfaction.

I had Family & friends redo my kitchen 5 years ago. Within months the new floor started buckling. They did not nothing to fix the problem, claiming that their work was correct and that it was my responsibility to keep the Basement dry to alleviate the issue. Despite running a dehumidifier 24/7 in my basement, they refused to honor their warranty to fix the issue. It has only gotten worse over the years. I have to pay to get the floor redone again now, and other flooring professionals are telling me that the floor was installed without the correct vapor barrier, and without the correct clearances around the moulding to allow for expansion of the material. Many other parts of the job were left partially or sloppily done, none of which F&F builders did anything to correct.

We hired FFB to do a complete renovation of our kitchen. They did an amazing job. We were completely blown away. They are so professional and so passionate about what they do, and it shows in the finished product. Billy is an awesome guy and always on top of everything. Without a doubt, whenever we have any future projects for our house, we will be hiring Family & Friends.

Recommended to me by a friend, but like most contractors in the city, they didn't seem to need my business. They told me that they'd call to set up an estimate TWICE and never followed through. We found a business that genuinely felt excited about earning our money, so we went with them.

This contractor hook up the dishwasher to the cold water. They put in a new dishwasher in and rigged the electrical hook up in the breaker panel with an existing breaker switch therefore overloading the breaker switch (illegal pursuant to Philadelphia code). They also put the faucets in the bathroom backwards ( the hot on the right side and the cold on the left side (also against Philadelphia Code. They do not respond to complaints and you are out of luck once they get your money.

I wrote a review for this business a couple of weeks ago, but couldn't find it when i logged in, so i'm writing again. I would wholeheartedly recommend Family and Friends Builders to anyone needing construction work. From start to finish, these people (Billy, Liz, Shannon, the entire crew) were professional, skilled, respectful of my time (as I was of theirs, I hope!), and they did everything that they said they would do. If they couldn't do it or disagreed with something I wanted, they'd say. They listened. They seemed to appreciate a challenge. They are very hard, dedicated workers. They earned my trust. That's coming from a pretty skeptical person, especially having had disappointing experiences with other contractors in the past. I am very happy with their work and learned of them from a friend who had a F&FB install his roof deck.

This is an amazing family and an amazing company. They do professional, high-quality work with a personal touch. Yes, it's a little more expensive, but you are paying for skilled workers and high quality materials. They have built me a raised deck, tiled my kitchen and bathroom, refinished my wood floors, and built a custom wood bar top out of repurposed materials that looks beautiful. As a side note, Liz, who takes your calls and keeps things running smoothly, gave me a recommendation for an exterminator that saved my sanity and kept me from selling my house in frustration. These are good people.

Family and Friends Builders did a great job on our kitchen this past May. We updated the kitchen of our Northeast Philly row home from its 1970's look to a lovely modern design, and with Billy Marnoch and team's help, we couldn't be happier.

It took F&FB about a month. Someone was working at our house every business day, and at the end of each day we came home to find it pretty clean and orderly. I was impressed with the respect they showed us in this way. In fact, when they knew we were having house guests for Memorial Day weekend, they went out of their way to get the sink and dishwasher ready in time - greatly appreciated.

Biggest challenge: as a project manager myself, I hoped that someone at F&FB would be more assertive in telling us what to do when - when to buy appliances, make decision on a countertop - in order to move at the most efficient speed toward completion. Basically, to shepherd us through. It was interesting to work out two different project management styles: theirs and mine. But we managed and got done quickly enough, and satisfactorily. I would recommend Family and Friends Builders to my own family and friends.

Family and Friends have been my contractor of choice for the past eight years. In that time, they've renovated 5 rooms in my home (including my kitchen), repaired my roof, built a deck, replaced windows, and installed a fireplace-not to mention a variety of electrical and plumbing jobs. They can literally do anything and do do it well. Their estimates are honest and their contracts reflect a knowledgeable approach to whatever job is being considered. For creativity, integrity, customer responsiveness, and overall professionalism I can't say enough about these guys.
