We asked for an estimate prior to work but instead someone showed up and began working (we had another contractor in the house at the time so he walked him through our needs) We take ownership that we still went ahead but trusted their process. The second day the plumber arrived I was home the entire time. I overheard him chatting away with our contractor as well as getting a second hand from him. Both contractors in agreement that he didn't do half the job for what was billed out. The next day I get an arrogant rude call regarding our bill that I was supposed to pay the plumber. I never got one. Still don't have one. The tech never made any effort to find me in the house to even give me one (if it even existed) Long story short it cost us almost 2k for work not even completed!! BE CAREFUL. Even if in a horrible jam these folks are just out to screw you out of money. We were so disappointed that we found someone else to complete the work.
I had a toilet installed. The estimate was $189.00. When the tech got here he said, ""Well that's wrong, you didn't buy it from us, it's $289.00. Then the toilet at home depot was broken, so he brought it back to the store and picked up a lower priced one. I had already paid for the toilet . He said he told Home Depot that he was going to have to charge me an addional $150.00 to change the toilet. Home Depot he said would give me the new one for free (I never got an money back from Home Depot). He added in the charge on my bill. It ended up costing me $499.00 for 1hour 40 minutes work!. He complained when he got there who was going to help him get it up my stairs inside. 12 steps. He complained my stairway was too narrow. Folks this man was huge. He would make 2 men. The stairs are fine. That's my story. I'm disabled. I'm 66yo with severe arthritis and he had so empathy over me or my stairlift. He charged $499.00 (I had all the parts). The install was 40 minutes. The 1 hour was to pickup the toilet go back to the store and get another one. $499.00! All hidden costs.
Howard J.I worked with Falcon to replace a boiler that is at its end of life. The boiler's location was at a condo we rent and being in the Fall, we had to replace it asap such that our tenants would be without heat. As I put out requests for multiple quotes, Falcon was the only company that I felt to be truthful, honest, and on time with when they said they would get us a quote. I had to chase down other companies and in one case, waited 4 days for a quote, rather than 1. That's not something anyone can deal with when it's cold out and their heat doesn't work.
In addition, they came out to give us a quote that day, knowing Vermont Gas shut off our boiler saying it was entirely broken. The owner was the one who showed up and not only explained the complications with installing a new boiler, but inspected the boiler to deem it safe and turn it back on.
The other companies we reached out to sent a sales person who had little understanding of the complications we faced with our boiler change. Thank goodness Falcon was the first to come out and take a look so we could educate the sales people from the other vendors.
II M.Really hard to get a call back most of the time, and the price estimates fluctuate.
WORST service EVER! Here's the run down of our experience:
-My husband scheduled an appointment to have our furnace serviced. He took the scheduled day off from work. Nobody showed up. He called and they admitted they forgot to put him in the schedule so we were rescheduled to a week later. My husband took a second day off from work. Falcon charges $80 if you miss an appointment with them, but they were only going to give us a $50 discount for them missing our appointment. Apparently, our time is not worth as much.
-Falcon was scheduled to come yesterday morning. They came and told us our CO reading was off the charts at 10,000 ppm. The technician told us Vermont Gas would shut the line off if they knew about it, but did not shut the valve off himself. He left everything as it was and said he did not have time to clean our furnace that day and left without giving us further instruction. He said he would be back in a week so my husband would have to take a THIRD day off to actually have the furnace serviced!
-My husband called me concerned about the reading and we decided to call Vermont Gas to shut out line off for the obvious safety concern, despite being instructed by the technician that we would be fine as long as we didn't turn on the furnace.
-We called another company for an expensive emergency visit the same day. The furnace was serviced and adjusted as needed and we are now have appropriate CO readings.
-I called Falcon to let them know we would NOT be paying for anything as they had already screwed up scheduling which forced my husband to have to take 2 days off from work, never actually serviced our furnace, and potentially compromised our safety by giving us incorrect instructions on how to handle the situation. The owner, Brian, told me he didn't care that we were unsatisfied and that I clearly could not be made happy (when really I only wanted the service we hired them to complete to be completed in a timely manner).
Needless to say, we will NOT be using Falcon in the future!
I recently had a new boiler and new hot water heater installed by Falcon Plumbing & Heating. I have enlisted their services a few times over the years for small projects, but never anything of this magnitude. I was not disappointed. Over the course of this new install I got to see all of the team, including Justin, Ryan, Chad, and Pete. All four of them were professional and courteous. Justin was very patient and answered all of the questions that I had about the operation of the system and why he recommended it over other systems. There was a very minor glitch after the install, but they came out immediately and resolved it very quickly. I highly recommend this crew and I will be using their services again in the future.
Caroline L.I can't say enough good about the service I received from Falcon Plumbing. I needed a new hot water heater, toilet and Installation of a bathroom faucet and grab bar I had purchased. The two young men who came, Justin and Ryan, arrived when they said they would and accomplished all the work efficiently and with great skill. They were in communication with their boss when necessary. It pleases me to see they were very careful not to create any peripheral damage and left all areas clean. They worked well together and were friendly and personable. All old fixtures were removed and all new installations worked beautifully! A wonderful experience with an outstanding company!!
Peter B.I vote no on this company. Here's why.
I called to have them identify/fix a leak, they scheduled it, and told me I could pay by check, or credit card. They'd keep the credit card on file. I told them I'd probably pay by check to avoid the extra fee for the credit card. Fine, no problem, they said.
So they fixed a problem they identified as a leaky bathtub drain. They then charged my credit card and sent me the bill, with no chance to write the check. I said to them by email, fine, no big deal, let's just do it differently the next time.
Fast forward ten days or so. The leak persists. They now say it's a different source that they did not see earlier. They couldn't fix it because it was behind a wall covered with tile, and they are not authorized to take down tile. (Liability, they say.) Once again, they charge my credit card $151 without consulting me first.
So, to recap: they fixed one problem but failed to identify another, then charged me for two visits instead of one.
They offered me a ""free"" hour of service to fix the second problem they identified, but I will pass on that.
The owner sent me an ""I'm sorry you feel that way"" email, essentially saying: tough luck, buddy.
I hired Falcon Plumbing to install my new sink. I highly DO NOT recommend doing business with this company. Here are reasons why:
- very hard to schedule appointment if you are working, you will have to wait extended time and take day off (probably only have 1 guy working for them)
- office lady Anna is very unprofessional with no customer service skills
-left messages without calls back, had to keep calling
-very expensive - they charge $150 per hour (the hour starts from the time the worker leaves their office in Williston so in my situation it is $70 for them to just get here), after hours (they close at 3pm) the charge goes to $170/hr plus materials
-they didn't finish the job on first appointment because they were missing a saw to cut back of the cabinet - pluming company without saw in huge truck ? The worker simply didn't feel like completing the work and wanted me to schedule another appointment (week or more away) and wanted to charge me twice! It was very troubling to me especially because I asked him before job was scheduled to asses work to make sure he can do it - so he should know he needs specific tool
-guy Brian (suspecting the owner) was not interested finishing job, said he will have to ""back out"" leaving me with job started but not completed (he connected half of sink on first appointment)
-spoke about them in my office afterwards and find out they don't have a good reputation in Burlington area overall and none of my coworkers would recommend this company
Save yourself headache and wasted time and hire someone else ( I will make follow up post later with info who worked for me).
ONLY CALL THESE FOLKS IF YOU LIKE TO PAY FOR NOTHING! $149 TO HAVE NOTHING REPAIRED AND NO WILLINGNESS TO RECIFY THE SITUATION!!!
We called to get our rinnai heater fixed over the weekend. At the time of the call we stated that there was an error message and even had looked up the info of what causes this error message (a spark ignitor). When the tech arrived he said ""53 error, not sure what that is, I'll have to look it up"". Tech should come to the job prepared, We gave him all the info, he should know what the problem is and have the parts needed to fix it. The tech repeatedly turned the unit on and off and stated that it worked fine. I called my husband who said over the phone to the tech that he didn't want to not have the piece replaced and to still have a broken heater the next day. Tech said not to worry, with these things either they work or they don't and it was probably just a air bubble in the gas line. At that point the tech stated he didn't have the part. Now why wouldn't he bring the part when we had prepared him with all of the info??? Well the next day the heater still didn't work (and 3 days later it still doesn't). After several phone conversations all the company would agree to is 1/2 hour free labor. We already paid $150 to not have our heater fixed!!! I expected them to come back and do the work we had already paid for but they refused. The labor rate of $150 Is pretty steep if they aren't going to be prepared to do the work or qualified!
