Solid, dependable plumbing services, with very knowledgeable and professional plumbers. I've used them several times, and have felt fully informed every time about what work needed to be done, why it needed to be done, and what my alternatives were. Very fair on pricing and the reasons for it; if they get the part and put it in, then they guarantee it. If you want to buy your own parts, then it's up to you to make sure you got quality ones - when it comes to water pipes, I prefer to not take chances, and I've been very happy with the results. I've had them work in the kitchen, in the bathroom, and installing a whole-house water filter, and never had a complaint.

We purchased a new vanity/sink from Home Depot and the vanity didn't fit with the existing pipes. I called FCP to redo the piping. The plumber did a fantastic job cutting and re-routing the pipes. However, there was a leak and it kept dripping down into the new vanity. I called them to come back out, and the plumber put some putty under the drain (my dad had put the sink together and just used some teflon tape there). He left, and within a day we still had the same issue. He came back out again and said that the pop-up that came with the sink was cheap, and needed to be replaced. I was away on business, and I called to speak to the office about this because I wasn't happy that we had paid $280 for the initial visit, $70 for the next visit, and now they wanted another $190 plus parts for this visit when no one ever said anything about the part that we had bough being cheap on the first two visits. She said that the plumber can't exactly tell his customers that the parts that they bought are crap, so they're in a bad position.

I understand that if I buy a cheap part that's on me. However, we didn't buy the cheapest vanity they had, and neither of us know anything about plumbing to know that the part wasn't good enough. I understand that they need to be careful about offending customers, but a simple ""just an FYI, if you have problems with leaks down the road, you might need to replace this part"" would have been nice on the initial visit. And even if they don't want to say that, I don't understand how they can come out a second time for a leak and STILL not tell us that the part isn't any good. It really seems like they're just trying to get money for additional calls.

When I call a professional, it's because I don't have the knowledge myself to fix something, and I am looking for their expertise. I want to know that I can trust people who I pay to come in to provide me with a full and accurate picture of what's going on. If you're looking for someone to do a simple job, I'm sure FCP would be fine, but if you want someone who you know will give you the full story the first time and not have to come back, keep looking, especially if you've purchased parts anywhere else.

We called this firm for replacement of a laundry room shutoff valve which admittedly went great. However we also had them replace an old toilet and foolishly (our fault) agreed to a cost of $700+ to do so, and the part that is the worst is they did a poor job - the new toilet was shaped slightly different from the old one and hence butted right up to the shutoff valve - instead of fixing that, they left it as-is (without asking first, in which case we would have authorized the fix), so now the shutoff is impossible to turn, so if it ever breaks or leaks we're unable to turn it off. Also my wife had asked for a brushed nickel flusher which was not standard to the toilet so they slapped on a cheap and smaller handle that now wiggles and you can see the handle hole. I was not home to supervise this and my wife was new to home improvements at this time so she signed off on this horrible work. I tried to call and get someone out to look at these issues and we couldn't get a call back. We have since found two other plumbing firms that do perfect work and are much more affordable. Don't waste your time and money with this place.
