RUN! RUN SO FAR AWAY FROM THIS USELESS COMPANY!!! I called back in August to have someone come out and fix my A/C unit. One, they never said/mentioned/brought up any kind of fee to have someone come out. Where as two other companies I had called were transparent and let me know it would cost to have someone come out. FAHNESTOCK, SAID NOTHING! Anyway, they came out on august 4th saw what was wrong and told me they would have to order a special part. They said it would take like 3-5 days to get it in, and they were gonna charge me $400 less than what one company was wanting to charge so I was so happy with them! Welp, I called and called and called and called and called and called and they kept telling me the special part was on back order and it would take a few more days! They were never honest and transparent and kept making up excuses, so 3 weeks of being inside my house in the basement where the temperature was a cool 90°~ I had had enough and reached out to this super cool guy on Angie's List and it took him 2 days to come out and fix my A/C and he charged me HALF of what Fahnestock was trying to charge me. Oh and btw Fahnestock has never gotten back to me about the part. Fahnestock sucks and should be ashamed of themselves and can suck it.
Jeremy of Fahnestock was out last week, 12-2-2020 and replaced and installed a new water heater, and something went wrong and he also replaced our main plumbing manifold. He was here much later than anticipated, but was professional and cleaned up and had us up and running the same day.
Fast forward to this Friday, 12-11-2020. I called this morning, because we are constantly having air issues etc when turning on the sinks and showers. Plus we wanted them to check out the new manifold, because of droplets on the ""COLD"" side bottom 4 lines.
Jeremy had a cancellation and Customer Service called and said he'd be out and was within the hour, He came in and said it was a recall on some kind of part ""Rod"" that goes inside the water heater itself. Once he got the old one out, (Couldn't believe how nasty it already was after one week, thus the recall) and installed the new rod, made sure no leaks or droplets happening on the last 4 ""COLD"" side bottom lines. Turned on all the faucets, bathtubs, showers and ran to get the air out and MAGIC, this time after turning everything off and back on a second time, no air and the water was running smoothly. All this within an hour to hour and a half.
Exceptionally nice and courteous young gentleman Mr. Jeremy is and wanted you to know he is a quality employee. May Jeremy and all at Fahnestock have a very Merry Christmas. Excellent customer Service by both Shandra and Jeremy.
Thanks Jeremy for fixing the problem and Shandra for getting him scheduled on a Friday and so close to Christmas.
Great Service

Andrew S.We had Fahnestock install a new AC and Furnace in May 2018. Our AC went out on July 1, 2020. The refrigerant line was leaking due to a faulty connection on the copper line during the installation. They fixed this error for free but the compressor went bad as well. This was apparently unrelated to refrigerant leak and claimed to be from the screen on the outside unit getting too dirty in 2 years. So a $5,500 system two years ago needs a $1,300 labor repair now.
As their head line reads, let me correct something. They are not family owned. They do not have 25 ready to go service employees. They have 1 electrical service tech and he is not available 24 hours.
The only thing they have good going for them is a well trained HVAC supervisor, and dispatch team.
We have had their service agreement for years and been pleased with the service and technicians. They seem to get us on the schedule quickly and show up on time which is such a change from most local companies.
Worst company ever very incompetent and try to sell you parts that are not needed.
Last year when the furnace cleaned the Fahnestock repair man told me I needed a new inducer blower and gave a quote of $500. l decided to get another quote to see if money could be saved. The second company told me I did not need an inducer blower I just needed to have the furnace cleaned which he did. The noise made when the furnace came on was gone. This year the noise was back. The repair man told me the furnace had not been installed correctly. He tighten it down and stabilized the works the best he could. Now the noise is gone again.
The furnace works perfectly.
We have only been in our new home a few months. Michael came out today to service our heater and was gracious enough to take the time to explain the unit to me. Every home and unit is different and I appreciate him taking the extra time to show us the how different this unit is. J Hunter
Frank T.Used Fahrenstock when our house was built 18 years ago. A wiring error on their part caused problems for Playmonths until it was discovered 6 months later during a seasonal check up.
Fast forward to now. The house has 2 HVAC systems and both were showing their age. They were using large amounts of electricity, noisy, and running rough so we decided to replace them. Fahnestock had a sale going on so we thought what the heck - can't have bad luck twice - so we bought two top of the line Lennox systems. The larger 4 ton system has run ok but the 2 ton system has broken down 4 times since being installed a month ago. It displays a big red error symbol on the thermostat and shuts down. When the service tech came out the first time he said these systems were ""touchy"". It needed to be reset and he checked it over and found nothing wrong. Next week same thing - I reset it. Week later same thing - I reset it. Today same thing. Called Fahrenstock and am waiting for the tech. Ten thousand dollars for a touchy system??
During the installation the person setting up the computer thermostat had no idea how to do it. I had to show him how to access the installer settings, connect the WiFi, and do the basic set up. His partner said he usually just pushes buttons till he gets what he wants.
Avoid this company.
Update - The service tech has been back out twice now. Last time he said the refrigerant pressure was off and adjusted it. Also that Lennox had a new circuit board that also addressed the issue. Today he came out to replace the circuit board. He did it and checked that the system would start up and left. 30 minutes later we checked upstairs and HOT air was coming out of the registers and the temp had climbed 6 degrees. Shut it down and called Fahrenstock again. To be continued.
Next chapter - the service manager (Zach) himself came out along with James, the tech. Yeah we're on a first name basis. Zach through his laptop and phone was in touch with the Lennox regional rep as they were walked through the checkout and setup of the new circuit board. Something that should have been done before being installed. They did it, fired it up AND error message after red critical error message came up and the system shutdown. Lennox had given them the settings for a different model.
After that mistake was fixed the system put out cool air and stayed running.
It's 3 weeks later now and no new problems. Temps have hit 100 plus and both systems are doing good.
I have to give Fahrenstock credit for staying with it. Thanks to James and Zach for their persistence.
Suggestion? Get your people properly trained on new systems BEFORE they come out to install or service them.
After all this I would still recommend Fahrenstock to others but Lennox - ?
We called to get the cost of a standard 50 gallon water heater and have it installed. The cost of a 50 gallon no-name tank was a little more than $1000 plus $400 for installation. Shocked at the cost, they did say they could install one that we purchased at Lowes ($320) for $400.
Past experience from other plumbing companies have been able to install tanks that are pre-drained of any residual water in 60 to 90 minutes. Fahnestock took 4 hours plus the area was left quite filthy.
When the bill arrived it was for $500 not $400, big shock. We really thought Fahnestock was a better company than that but apparently not. We will not be using Fahnestock in the future.
