About a month ago I got a call from Fagnelli. The person Justin on the phone explained that they are scheduling free AC checks since summer is coming. I have lived in my residence for 8 years and I have never had my AC looked at I figured maybe that would be a good idea and its free. I had never had an issue with my AC unit. The tech from Fagnelli arrived on April 9th. About 5 minutes into the visit he comes in with a capacitor in his hand and says this part is dead and he used a volt meter in front of me to show me. He explained he couldn't do anything further to check the system without replacing this part. The part was 291 dollars. I have never put any money into the unit for the duration of my time in this home so I agreed. I figured probably needed it. So, he replaces it and about 20 minutes later he comes in telling me every is 'I'm good to go' . 2 weeks later we had the first really hot day. I turn on my AC. After 2 hours the temperature didn't go down 1 degree. I checked the vents no cold air was coming out. Since, I had paid Fagnelli 300 dollars and I was told my system was 'good to go' from their tech, I was a bit skeptical to call them to come back out and look at the system. I called someone else to take a look and I paid 79 dollars for diagnostics on the system. The second guy runs the tests and discovers absolutely 0 refrigerate in my system. He then goes into the basement and explains to me that to have 0 means quite a significant leak and he can run a nitrogen test to try and find a leak which is going to cost 300 dollars. And since everything is expensive when finding a leak and the system age, I might want to consider a new one. I immediately stop him. I wanted to give Fagnelli a call and find out why their guy didn't tell me about the lack of refrigerant when he came out to do the first test. Through basic reading and knowledge from the tech here he explained there is no way 6-8 lbs. of refrigerant would have leaked out within a month after the first tech visit. So, the tech cleans up and he decided to look at where my stem valves should be for my system. He comes to the door and says hey do you know your stem valves are missing. I not knowing anything about AC units had to have him explain. Without steam valves my refrigerant will leak out. So, I call Fagnelli and ask them the procedures of the free check. First off Justin could not find a sheet with the checklist of what's done during those checks which is always a positive start. I wanted to be fair about everything. Maybe they only do basic checks for the free thing. But he mentioned he knew some on the top of his head. And checking pressure and refrigerate levels was on that list. I then explained the story to him. I asked him how could his tech not see that I have 0 refrigerant levels. He didn't know. I told them my stem valves were also missing. He seemed to understand what that meant but then acted like this could no way be true. He said something like ""I don't know how to say this because you wouldn't have a reason to lie about this but I can't find the right words."" Well once I asked him if his was insinuating that I wasn't telling him the truth. There were just immediate apologies. 'That's not what he meant' 'He doesn't even know what he's saying right now.' Yes, those are words he used. I understand no one in a business wants to hear that maybe their work wasn't good and maybe he was rattled. So I forgave him for the gaff. I asked him how a tech could sell me a 300 part for a system that obviously if he did his job properly, he would have seen that there was no refrigerant in its and a much bigger issue. Surely that's not in the customers best interest to pay 300 for a part for a broken unit. Remember I never even called these guys with a problem. They called me. He told me he would need until Monday to figure out what happened here. So, 5 days to figure this out. Plus, he wanted a copy of the 2nd techs invoice. Which I have no idea what good that does them other than knowing who came out to double check their work. No immediate action on my complaint. I spoke to a close friend who runs an HAVAC place in Greensburg he said that sometimes when techs work on the unit they remove the stem valves and are supposed to put them back when they are done. That's what I believe has happened here. Except they were not put back and all my refrigerant leaked out.. People make mistakes. But I cannot decide to buy a new unit for 4000$ when I don't even know if the unit there is even bad. And stem valves don't magically disappear nor would a unit run successfully for 8+ years without those stem valves. I have called back and told them I would like to speak to a person of authority and haven't been given that courtesy. Finally Justin called me not a boss as requested and authorized a refund for the capacitor part but still the cost of replacing the missing stem valves and the refrigerant far outweighs that cost. Beware.

They were quick to take my money for Die test but after repeated calls to give me a quote to do the work after die test they never had decency to call me back. They never even sent results I paid for to PWSA.

I needed a new boiler and everything started off ok at first. I thought the estimate was high, and it only had a single price, not a breakdown of prices, but I was without heat and agreed to it. The job went well. Then everything changed. They finished on a Friday and said they would be back Monday for the old boiler. Never showed up until 2 weeks later when i went there and complained. They also were very hesitant to work with my insurance company and I didn't understand why. Then i found out it was because they LIE about their prices. After fighting for 2 weeks to get a diagnostic report and itemized estimate for the insurance company, it showed a price of $3100 for a boiler that is only $1950. I was told the total should of been around $5000 but i was charged $8900. We requested more information such as materials they bought, hourly rate, labor hours etc for the insurance but they will never respond. My next move will be a lawsuit unless they prove otherwise. Hope this helps somebody.

My tankless hot water heater started leaking. It ended up cracking the drywall, dripping through the ceiling of my first floor ceiling. I immediately called a couple plumbing companies and Fagnelli Plumbing were the only company available to come out at short notice. They advised me of a $60 call out fee which I agreed to pay. The technician who arrived hadn't had any experience with tankless hot water heaters, but made a call to his manager. He ended up tightening the fittings and presented me with a ridiculous bill. In total he was at the house for an hour and charged us $420 including the call out fee, to tighten 10 connections. The owner eventually agreed to refund part of the invoice. Make sure to get a quote before any work is completed so you aren't surprised by the final invoice.

CAUTION: This company claims to have exited their heating business!!!!!! Don't use or you will be left in the cold!
Very disappointing experience after having dealt with Fagnelli Plumbing for 7 or 8 years now. They installed a furnace for me 5 years ago, but I keep having the exact same issue with it -- a furnace is supposed to last 30 years! After numerous repair attempts, I was told there is no permanent fix; they were literally at my house every 2 or 3 months during heating season, charging me $90 to come out every time.
When my heat went out again this weekend, I was informed that they no longer service their HVAC customers!!! Imagine my surprise and anger at such terrible customer service, once again letting a loyal customer down without heat!

If you want to pay outrageous fees this is the company to call, extremely expensive. Take advantage of people that have a problem

We had a minor plumbing issue in a home we just built two years ago -- our kitchen faucet was leaking. We called Fagnelli who came to our home an determined we needed a part. Since the faucet was under warrantee we ordered the part (free of charge). The first visit was $60, When they called with an estimate for the installation of the new part, it was over $500!!!!!! Outrageous! Remember, this is just the service charge - no parts included. We called another plumber, and the total bill was $139 and it took him 15 minutes to fix. No one should ever trust Fagnelli!!!!

Returned home from a weekend trip and found that my hot water tank had died. I was referred to Fagnelli Plumbing. Called the office and received same day service. The service tech reviewed my equipment and confirmed that the tank, had in fact failed and needed replaced. He did some research and presented me with 3 options, I felt that the service tech was forthright and extremely knowledge .I had hot water that same day. Great experience . Nice to have a plumber that you can brag about !
I did check with both Lowes and Home depot and was told that it would be 11 days before the replacement tank would arrive if I ordered from them. 11 days without hot water... not acceptable. The box stores offered 1 choice and a 6 year warranty. Fennell Plumping offered me 3 choices , a 10 year warranty and same day installation, I even received a follow up phone call from the owner the next day . 100% satisfaction from this Cranberry,PA homeowner .

Fagnelli plumbing is a mess and their customer service club (for which you pay a small monthly fee for a discount on work and ""free"" yearly AC, heating, and plumbing inspection) is basically a scam.
Several times, I have tried to get these ""free"" inspections and Fagnelli always cancels at the last minute. People take off work for this kind of thing!
They are also extraordinarily overpriced in terms of their services.

Selling a house, and the day before the closing PWSA says we need a dye test (http://www.pgh2o.com/dye-testing) before the sale can go through.
My real estate agent spent her afternoon calling around trying to find a plumber who could conduct the test on short notice. After making a dozen calls, she spoke with Eric from Fagnelli Plumbing.
Eric came through for us! He was able to perform the test on very short notice, and got us what we needed to satisfy PWSA. If it weren't for Eric at Fagnelli Plumbing, we'd have had to delay closing until after the holiday.
