Reid K.Ignore the odd Yelp page. This company was great to work with, responsive and professional. I called them the night before with an emergency and they fit me in on one of the first calls the next day. Would recommend to friends and family.
We were in need of a plumber to look into an issue with our toilet. Called F&L as they were a local plumber and set up an appointment between 9-11am the following day.
Patiently waited for someone to show, yet by 11:20 no one had arrived nor had a phone call been received. Called the office and left a voicemail. 30 mins later we received a call advising plumber was delayed yet no timeframe was provided regarding expected arrival.
At 1pm plumber called indicating he'd be here shortly. Upon arrival, issue was quickly resolved requiring no parts. The entire appointment took less than 8 minutes from the time they drove up the driveway until the time they left.
Not really being able to evaluate the quality of work done, my primary concern is the professionalism of F&L. A phone call to indicate a delay with our appointment time should have occurred and the plumber really didn't need to track mud into our home.
It's frustrating to be charged $160 (the minimum for an appointment) when you've had to wait 41/2 hrs for someone to show up!
I called F&L Plumbing because I was experiencing a low water pressure problem with our well. Long story short... the technician over-inflated our pressure tank and did not fix the problem. When I called to ask for a price adjustment on the bill given the circumstances, I instead received a bill in the mail for the full amount. Fortunately, I found a different plumbing contractor who was courteous and fixed the problem immediately. I cannot recommend F&L Plumbing given this experience.
CORRECTION/UPDATE: F&L Plumbing made things right by reducing my bill to reflect the aforementioned circumstances. With that said, I can now recommend F&L Plumbing to others.
David S.F & L Plumbing is a Good, Friendly, Professional, and Honest Plumbing Company. Very fair pricing professional plumbers, I would highly recommend this company for anyone needing a good plumbing company.
Debbie S.I had a invisible water leak underground that needed to be located and fixed quickly. Mr. Furr came out on a holiday weekend and looked at my property and on Monday sent three of his employees to locate the leak. The guys dug a 6+ foot hole in very hot weather and were able to find the leak, repair and cleaned everything up within four hours of arriving. I was very satisfied with the reasonable charge, response time, completion of work and friendliness of everyone at F&L Plumbing. I know I will be calling him in the future should I have any other problems or plumbing needs.
Satisfied customer indeed
Called regarding a water heater that was stuck on ""vacation"" mode. Tech showed up timely and stayed 45 mins. No materials and a simple cleaning.
Received a bill for $290. Total ripoff. Called and they immediately said it was a mistake and the new amount $220...also a ripoff.
Ask ahead as there is minimum 1 hr fee @ $140, then billed in 1/2 hr increments. Plus trip charges. Was never disclosed.
I hate these guys always trying to take advantage of customers!
My well was experiencing low pressure for a while. This had happened in the past and I suspected the pressure switch was clogged (again) and needed to be replaced (again). I had been putting off the expense since we had some water pressure. None of this had anything to do with F & L.
The day the last blizzard of this winter (2016) was to start, the well failed completely - no water pressure. I called everyone and F & L, who is nearby, was able to come fairly quickly with two guys. The replaced the pressure switch (no joy), replaced the well pump controller (still no water). That left the well pump. They went back to the office to see what was available. They had a suitable pump and returned with a total of 4 guys. This is now in the afternoon with the blizzard due to start in two-three hours at my location and these guys all lived west where the snow would start sooner.
They pulled the pump out of the well and found the problem which was really a fitting with a hole in it - most of the water the pump was pumping was not going up the pipe into the house. However, at this point, the pump was out and given that is was at least 11-12 year old and maybe closer to 20 year old, it made sense to replace even though strictly speaking it still worked. Also, we probably didn't need a pressure switch or a well controller either at that moment but eventually the former would have been needed, so no big deal.
They quickly attached the new well pump, put it back and we had great water pressure again, just as the snow began. The departed and I had a bill in the mail in about a week or so.
I think the bill is a bit high, but given the emergency I cannot complain, especially since we were snowed in for days and no one was going to get to our property unless the walked in the 1/2 mile through the 3 feet of snow. Overall, I'm pleased.
On 2/12/15, I had a clog in my kitchen sink. I called my condo association and they called F&L Plumbing and Heating, Inc. The plumber came and he could not give me an estimate, nor did he accept payment. He said that someone will contact me to give me an invoice and take payment. It was an emergency and I needed my sink fixed asap. The plumber snaked my drain to the main line and also replaced 2 of the traps under the sink. He said they were the wrong size. After the work, the sink drained fine and everything was great....until I received the bill. F&L plumbing charged me $392.00 for everything. I thought that was a little extreme. I called around and for the most part, plumbers were giving me $250-$300 estimates to snake a drain. I called F&L and talked to a nice lady named Joanne. I talked to her about how I wasn't given an estimate and that the price was a little high. She said that the price was competitive. I asked her if I write a good review for her company would she consider that and give me some sort of discount. She said she could not. Most companies on Angies List for example give a 10% discount or have some sort of coupon for members. She would not budge. So I had to pay it. They did a good job and fixed it. But the price was a little too high for me.
