Recommended Customer Reviews
They never fixed the problem after numerous service calls and spending $700 for other repairs that weren't needed. Another company immediately identified the problem--a crack in the compressor.
We have a fairly old gas furnace which has worked great for 20+ years and despite its age it is good shape and has worked great until yesterday when it wouldn't ignite the gas. I call FH thinking that they are a large reputable firm...I was wrong. Granted our unit is old, but the whole effort by the technician was nothing short of trying to upsell us to an entire new unit. The fix to our furnace is a bad igniter, which from Amazon runs all of $25. The FH tech quoted me $715 and said it would take a week to get in. Just why the FH tech does not stock what is a very common piece to fail and replace is beyond me, unless if they really have no intention of performing simple fixes, and are only set on trying to upsell their potential customers. Secondly, if I can get the part next day from Amazon why does it take a firm of the size of FH, who repairs HVAC systems every day, a week to get this very common part in? To that point had they not been closed, Tribles had it in stock too and I would have gotten it there.
Fortunately I have friends in the HVAC business that warned be about tactics like what your FH tried. They should be ashamed of their practices.
Needless to say I will never think of calling FH Furr again and will make sure never to recommend them either.
AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! Nicest, most pleasant people on the planet and they do apparently quality work, but as others have said they will charge you exorbitant and unwarranted prices. As others have mentioned, they refuse to provide a breakdown in costs and seem to pull estimates out of the air - or depending on the ZIP Code in which you reside. We have a service contract with them and called for a minor gas line hookup to existing lines - a job Washington Gas said ""any licensed plumber could do in under an hour."" The parts were (retail) about $200 and they quoted over $2,400! When I asked what the $2,200 for an hour's work was for, I was told, ""Overhead. We're a huge company with hundreds of people supporting you."" Really? Anyway, referring this matter to BBB and the county consumer affairs division. And, we'll be cancelling our service contract. Just avoid them and deal with a more ethical operation.
FH Furr is a professional, reliable company. Unfortunately, when they come to inspect your plumbing or electric under contract, they actually have no interest in doing that they just look for things to upsell. A technician told me they make their money on commissions from selling additional products and services. I'm sure most companies do this, but their prices are absolutely outrageous. From my research, I'd say they're charging 2 to 3 times what is fair and reasonable. Also, many of the products and services they recommend are not really needed.
I asked for help with the damper and the fan. They tried to sell me an air filter system for $837!! That's almost a 500% mark up compared to a standard system. This is a dishonest business practice.
Zach K.I'm updating my review as there has been another scheduling issue with these guys. I had an appointment today that they canceled same day, and rather than putting me as a priority in the schedule they want to schedule me for another two weeks out.
Kind of ridiculous. I've spent a ton with them this year and have their contract, but clearly that's getting canceled.
Very satisfied with the staff and quality of work. Wish their prices were not so high, but in a profession where you get what you pay for...at least I know Furr will do the job correctly.

Ryan W was professional, friendly, thorough and quick!
He found an issue we didn't know we had and gave us a complete diagnosis and recommendation, quickly following up that afternoon with the written assessment, as promised.
Notifications were convenient - Great experience.
Thank you, Ryan!

The air conditioner installed by FHFURR in August 2016 required almost constant repairs from the moment of installation. Enrollment in the Service Program does not cover the replacement or repair of air conditioner parts under warranty. Repair costs in the 5 years since purchase amounted to almost 25% of the original cost of the air conditioner. At the same time, the original air conditioner is more expensive than analogues of other brands and the prices for the FHFURR service are also above average.
John J.I'm floored by how terrible this company is. We have used them 4 times in the last few years, first time was great, guy was a former Ranger Bat dude, very squared away. Second guy came out to do a light electrical job, he just got out of school, and he gives me a estimate for work I never asked for to the tune of about 8-10k. I thanked him, said goodbye, and fixed the issue for about 25 bucks. Third guy did basic heating/AC maintenance, no problem, good dude, but this last one actually broke me. I have a stopped up kitchen sink, I can (and now will) fix it but it's a pain so I called these guys. First guy never got within an hour of my residence according to the tracker and claimed he was stuck in snow (apparently on my driveway which I was looking down and saw NOTHING! No vehicle at all) so it was postponed until today. The second guy just drove on past my driveway, I watched him. Didn't slow down, didn't make an attempt to turn, nothing. Granted, I do have some ice patches on the driveway but USPS, UPS, and laser shipping (the worst shipping company in existence) made it down without batting an eye...two were in little Mazda 2 door sedans!
All I can say is this, beyond very basic HVAC maintenance issues this company in useless, they should change out the guy on the back of their vehicles from waving to you in traffic to giving you the finger.
Never again.
