Extremely expensive for minimum effort and product. Do yourself a favor and get two other estimates. I found three estimates at half what Furr offered.
Went with OHA Heating and Air out of Fredericksburg.

This is the second issue I've had with them. The first time my AC went out, they didn't show up after a scheduled Appt. But they didn't bother to tell me until I had to call them asking where the tech was. I had to quickly scramble to get a different company at 6pm to come out. So now I need a whole new system apparently....for 14K??? I'm pretty they are robbing me blind. But for medical reasons, I need the AC. It's been a week and on the day of the install, they are freaking late as usual. I wish I would have read these reviews before I decided to go with them.

Definitely going to let my friends in Nationals management know. They should be sponsored by someone else.

Furr gave my elderly mother a quote for HVAC repair that was a thousand dollars more than a second quote that we received from another company. Pretty disgusting that they would try to rip off a little old lady!

Buyer Beware! Bait & Switch tactics. I was quoted for a overpriced service that I didn't need. Once the service was completed and the pictures were provided the technician agreed that I didn't need the service. He called into the office to confirm that I didn't need the service and it shouldn't be charged and they refused to refund my money. They then tried to sell me an additional service that I didn't need. In fact, I had previously purchased an ultra violet light from them. I am reporting this to the BBB. Please do your research before going with this company. They show a 4.8 rating on google BUT if you want real reviews check out the 2.0 rating on Yelp from over 200 customers https://m.yelp.com/biz/fh-furr-manassas, the 2/5 rating from Consumer Checkbook , https://www.checkbook.org/va/manassas/air-conditioning-and-heating-contractors/f-h-furr-plumbing-heating-air-conditioning-and-electrical/10h1i#comments and see what their own employees think at Indeed and Glassdoor. After my service was completed, a review was requested, I sent the review that should be posted to google and got an automated response stating it was being reviewed first.

Sure are lots of ""sorry's"" and apologies on here regarding service going awry! Well, here's another complaint for you!

My Mother got hooked into a service contract with FHFurr - which she will be canceling - and, when called out as a 'premier' member with 'discounted' pricing to check out some light flickering, they spent a few minutes going through the electrical panel for a 20 year old home before telling us the entire thing needed replacing, and would be about $5k, in addition to electrical monitoring service they were pushing (WAYYYY over MSRP, even with 'labor charges' as we were quoted), as well as new smoke detectors (for $200 a piece!!!?!???).

After having an iPad shoved in our faces for $6000 worth of work, we politely turned the guy away. $200 for a smoke alarm? What in the world? The SALESPERSON, because I'm not going to call him an electrician, would not back off or give any other answers other than 'I'd replace it ALL if it were MY house'. My Mother was visibly shaken - nice empathy, dude. Hope you can sleep at night.

After having a few other electrical contractors out, we are out about a few hundred bucks after a couple upgrades to the panel (non-required) and some honest advice to call NOVEC and have them address the transformer, which was causing the issues in the first place.

If we'd have paid your $6,000, and then the problems still existed, how would you have addressed that? How about some company ethics.

Such a weird experience with this company. I'd like to get the air ducts in my home cleaned, so I called 3 companies to get quotes. Two other companies quoted me $500 and were happy to answer my questions over the phone. F.H Furr, on the other hand, refused to give me a quote over the phone and said a technician would need to come out. Why? The (very polite) guy I spoke to told me quotes are ""unhelpful and ineffective"". As it turns out, they're very effective because now I know to take my business elsewhere.

There are few words to describe our electrician, Mr. Robert Marcou. Exceptional technical proficiency, methodically analytical, dedicated professionalism, superb persistency, and fiercely customer oriented are just a few that come to mind. This is a long story that I'll keep short. It began on 16 August when our generator went offline and Mr. Marcou arrived to diagnose and repair the problem. I was already apprehensive because just the diagnosis was $250 per hour. As usual, Mr. Marcou arrived on time and based on prior experience with his superior technical knowledge, skill, ability and competence, I figured he'd have it figured out in a couple hours. Less than an hour later he completed his extensive detective work, methodical testing and confirmation of his diagnosis, coordination to order parts and was ready with the cost of repairs. Three weeks later the manufacturer parts arrived Furr on Friday evening 6 September, Furr was offering to make repairs 3 days later on 9 September. I opted for an 11 September appointment and Mr. Marcou was his usual timely self, ready to get to work. After making repairs, he began testing and as he listened, he knew by sound that something wasn't right. After another hour of evaluation and retesting then silence, I'm now concerned. Unknown to me, Mr. Marcou had discovered another problem and contacted the manufacturer for consultation. This resulted in additional testing and discovery of some defective parts. These defective parts caused damage to other parts. The manufacturer insisted it would not be covered under warranty. This is where Mr. Marcou's exceptional knowledge and ability and superior customer care comes in. Mr. Marcou went from being a technical expert who also installs these generators to a fierce customer advocate. Despite the manufacturer resistance, he was undeterred and successfully argued that this $1,300 repair should be covered under full warranty. It should not be a customer responsibility because it was a rare problem that should not be occurring with a 4-year-old generator. I had no idea he was fighting for me. Without his dedicated customer concern, superior technical knowledge, and persistence, I would have incurred that substantial additional repair costs. The parts for the new repairs didn't arrived at Furr until the evening of 27 September with repairs completed on 1 October and my generator working fine. Mr. Marcou also made me aware of an APP Furr offers called TING which monitors the home electrical system that identifies existing or potential electrical issues that are or could become dangerous. Just plug the monitor in, connect to wi-fi and you can monitor in real time and get weekly reports. Really nice. F.H. Furr should be proud to have such a talented electrician and customer oriented professional. F.H. Furr electrical section should be commended for exceptionally quick response to make the repairs when parts are finally received. My apologies to Mr. Marcou for my unavoidable delay in writing this review. We remain committed to our 28-year business relationship with F.H. Furr and Mr. Marcou is one of the reasons for this loyalty commitment.

Service was great No Doubt bout that, but the biggest problem they have had is jacking up the price soooooo ridiculously, I just had my service performed for some freon however the tech suggested I should have my coil cleaning for a price if nearly $600 just to open and clean the damn coil....!! OK, I was about to reject that service recommendation for that much. Either the company's trying to cheat your wallet nor tells their techs just charges whatever they like to...! Or the technician must need some desperate money to buy their kids some milk money...! I dunno but that is one ridiculous price overwhelmed by me. I made a few calls to other Heating and AC companies and request for a price quote and the highest price I've got back to me was $198.00 that includes all cleaning and freon...!! WOW, so here I am paying to F.H FURR ONE extra cash to their tech for his vacation...! . From now ON PLEASE READ. Whatever F.H. Furr gave you remove them "" Do Not accept anything that you can simply DIY and be cautious what they are saying too. One customer that will never call F.H FURR again. Guaranteed

Two hours late to my ""appointment"". Then said it was 443 dollars to replace a 50 dollar part and 30 minutes of labor. Take your business elsewhere where it's probably cheaper and they have better customer service never getting them again.

The initial technicians never showed up the first time for the plumbing quote appointment. The FH Furr office rep called to let us know they wouldn't be able to make it due to being 'on-call'. Got another technician scheduled for the next day (all the while my water main is still leaking). The new tech rolls up and while very courteous, took a very brief look (maybe 60 seconds, if that) at the problem- the indoor water main connects to a pressure valve, and where this valve connects to the PVC, there is a leak) proceeds to give me numbers well above ($150 more) the other quotes I have gotten. I informed him of this and he would not move on price. I was told it would cost over $560 for this work. Oh come on!!! Even a completely new pressure valve is ~$70 from Lowe's (cheaper ones on Amazon), some solvent and sealant, and less than 6"" of 3/4"" PVC and not even 1Hr of time. Extremely overpriced. I can't speak to their actual work as I declined the quote. I'll see what some other competitors will quote me, but I have a feeling FH Furr takes the crown for outrageous pricing.
