Bought an AC/furnace (Lennox) and after 11 months the furnace broke. Luckily it broke within a year so it was covered under warrantee so they gave us another one, a higher end unit.

The AC was problematic since day ONE. It constantly shut off by itself. Imagine being out all day, then coming home with young children to a HOT HOUSE, even though you left the AC on....this was a common occurrence. Of course it would take hours for the house to cool down again.

The technicians weren't much help, had no idea why things kept breaking. They tried to fix things, charged us more and more money everytime. Eventually the furnace broke again after only a few years. We had no choice to spend yet another TEN GRAND on a new unit....this time with another company! This is a horrible company...avoid!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! OWN PLUMBER SAYS THEY GROSSLY OVER CHARGE. THEY ALSO ADD EXTRA/UNNECESSARY WORK TO RACK UP CHARGES. MADE SITUATION IN MY BATHROOM WORSE AND DID NOT DISCLOSE THERE WAS NO COLD WATER AND SHOWER INSTALLED DID NOT WORK.

On 1/12/24 and 1/19/22, FH Furr performed both unnecessary and incomplete work at my home, misled me about the need for replacement and repairs, and caused undisclosed damage when attempting to install a new panel. On 1/12, the plumber falsely claimed the shower panel could not be repaired and told me I had to buy a new one. He identified a new panel on Amazon that would fit the brackets on the wall. He falsely claimed there was no shutoff valve to the panel. He thus charged $313.99 to build CPCV capped lines when he could have used the shutoff valve in the adjacent wall and $523.32 for ""uninstalling customer shower panel and discovering leak"" - i.e., lifting the panel off the wall and looking at the back of it. I could not find the uninstalled panel after he left. On 1/19, the same plumber did not properly install and damaged the new panel. He claimed the brackets were in the wrong place to install the new panel, despite his having measured the wall and picked the unit himself. He knowingly left the panel hanging loose on the wall, with no ability to dispense any cold water and partially functional. He damaged and charged me to replace a supply riser tube he used when attempting to install the new panel. He also admitted taking the original panel without my permission. He offered it to other Furr plumbers! I was charged $861 for the failed install and $133 for the riser tube. The plumber admitted that Furr grossly overcharges customers and he would never use Furr. On 1/19, I reported this to Furr. Furr ghosted me on Saturday, 1/20, after claiming a plumber was being dispatched and then would not send my electronic invoices. An agent called me on 1/22 claiming he would confer about reimbursement and call me back. He ghosted me. I paid $2,496 for Furr to fail to resolve my water issue, take my spa shower, damage my new spa shower and leave me with no cold water in the bath and tub, a problem I did not have before they came. There were other issues as well.

I have had 3 of the WORST experiences with this company. I feel it's my responsibility to let people know how this company operates. They try to upcharge you on things right and left. Here are my 3 interactions with this company.




1 - July 2023
It is 100 degrees and we have no AC upstairs. Call FH Furr to come out (that was my first mistake). Tech shows up around 1. We tell the tech we aren't sure if the problem is electrical or hvac in nature. Tech does not even go upstairs to the attic to check our unit. Decides it's electrical without doing any work. But, tells us the outdoor units need to be cleaned and that it was affecting performance. We pay the $$$ for the cleaning. He also sells me on a service contract. We wait until 8 pm for an electrician to show up. We pay the extra fee for after hours. The electrician tells us it's definitely our hvac. The electrician was very nice and told us the hvac guy didn't follow company protocol. He tells us we should call and see if we can get some of our money back from the emergency electrical fee. Mind you, this house is 3 years old at this point. We all have to sleep on couches overnight because it's 90 degrees upstairs. A different tech shows around 1 the next day. He fixes the upstairs unit and again reiterates how crazy our experience was the day before. FH Furr did nothing to make up for their error.

2 - October 2023
Since I have a contract with this company, I decided to call them to install my new instant hot/filtered water dispenser on our kitchen sink. I already have one installed, but the filtered water lever was broken. I bought a new one to replace it. All they had to do was change out the dispenser on the counter top. Nothing needed to be done under the sink. AND, I already bought the part! This guy quoted me $942 to do a simple swap. I sent him away because I felt taken advantage of. FJ Hooks plumbing came out that day and did it for $250. I felt completely taken advantage of because I was a woman.

3 - January 2024
I get a call for my service contract inspection. My window is 12-5. Guy shows up at 5. It's my son's birthday. It's dinner time. He's telling me how dirty our units are and they need to be cleaned, etc. My husband, against our better judgment, agrees to have them cleaned. Guy showed up yesterday (at 5 again) and starts his ""cleaning"". He doesn't finish til around 7:30 pm. We wake up this morning to no heat in the house at all. Everything was working fine before FH Furr looked at it. This is not my first house. I have never seen a cleaning where large parts are taken out and hosed off and put back in. I have no idea what that guy did, but we are freezing. We have no heat at all. It's 60 degrees in my house.

UPDATE: new HVAC guy came. The original guy from yesterday never turned the downstairs unit back on at the base. The upstairs unit was a completely different story. He put the fan in backwards and never hooked the wires back up. Oh, and he left my hose on last night in January. My son realized it when he put the trash out. I feel completely taken advantage of. We have spend close to $7,000 over this year with this company and no outreach from them.

We had a Dead Thermostat for our furnace. We called and were quoted
a Small amount for a Service Call Plus Parts for the item.
We started at about $100.00 plus the Replacement thermostat.
While the Technician tinkered with the electrical connection, for
the thermostat, we finally got billed for $740.00 for the Call.
There was no Itemization between the Original amount and the
Inflated final tally. We paid the bill because we needed the heat,
We sent in 2 Complaints to their Customer Service , asking for a reason
for the Inflated Final Cost and researched (Online) for the exact same
brand name part, which listed at $150.00 They never Replied with an
answer nor an adjustment in the Exorbitant billing. We will definitely
look for another Service Company for our Heating needs. BEWARE.

We hates it forever (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRYmBAWQGig). Actually, their upfront prices for HVAC aren't bad, at least if you deal with them through Costco. My wife paid for the service contract, so I'm not sure what those prices are. However, they relentlessly and obnoxiously upsell during the heating and cooling inspections, and try to get you to buy services such as air duct cleaning,which are of little value for most home owners-I think they try to sell fear by showing you pictures of the inside of your ductwork (OMG it has dust in it). Some of their pricing and pricing options are absurd. My recommendation is to consider them for a new system if you can get the Costco pricing, do your research before accepting any of their service recommendations, and then ditch them when the initial warranty period of your furnace or AC rolls off.

Absolute thieves. Avoid this company at all costs. They upcharged me then tried to persuade me that I needed repairs totaling 4200. Another company came for a second opinion and repaired my AC for a fraction of Furr's quote.

Homeowners Beware
We were left hot and bothered after our shiny and pricey new AC units were installed. We noticed the temperature in our home continually fluctuated. In less than two weeks after spending nearly $30,000 the fan inside one of the units broke. My husband and I got the run around regarding when the new part would arrive and when we could expect a fully functioning system. It took more than a month before our AC units were repaired. It is disappointing to think that a brand new unit wouldn't function properly-- or even be replaced instead of repaired.

TERRIBLE COMPANY. Do not hire FH Furr-- they price gouge, try to upcharge by THOUSANDS of dollars, misdiagnosis problems with your major appliance (charging over $800 without repairing the problem) and then insist that you need to spend an additional $3500 for work that wouldn't be handled for another two weeks. I distrusted the technician's claim of what I needed, since my system was less than 5 years old. Two other AC companies gave estimates around $150, and got my AC working in 15 mins. The Furr technician couldn't fix the problem and tried to charge me a total of $4300. Plus, when I canceled my monthly plan within 24 hours, the company still charges me. The company was bought out and now apparently is run by thieves.

The charged me over 400 to file a permit, we told them we wanted to cancel and go with another company. They kept my money anyway, won't return calls or emails.

Apparently, FH Furr had a merger with Dwyer Plumbing. Dwyer-Lorton Road has always been 5-star for me. So far, with the merger, FH Furr has become 5-star too now. They have installed an HVAC system, a Gas Boiler and numerous plumbing systems for me. I am very happy. Nabil is exception. He is professional, friendly and knowledgeable for older homes. I recommend them highly.
