How do I access the filter? It has been a month, and would not willing to make schedule for correction. Would not return call either.
The duct configuration is not only blocking passage within limited utility room space, but also making the filter door inaccessible. Currently, there is also a gap (due to improper installation and duct size fitting) between return plenum and air handler where the air a leaking through. Incorrect wiring during installation made the fan blower running 24x7 for a week with ignoring customer's repeated concerns.
I can't find any way to let them making earnest efforts to come back and finish the incorrect installation.
We had an appointment for a check up for plumbing. And Richard Oliver was the gentleman that was assigned. He checked out all of our plumbing lines from toilets to sinks to the outside spicket and the water heater. Our water pressure was low 30s supposed to be 50s and we wanted the round handle switched out to a flat handle. The water heater was also flushed out. At first we thought we couldn't get all of that done today, but with a little help from another F H Furr gentleman and everything was finished up. Mr. Oliver went over everything and asked if we had any questions and we signed the paperwork and paid what we owed. We would recommend -a very good company, that's available when you call -knowledgeable and friendly people that work there!
I stupidly got snowed by FH FURR 5 years ago and purchased new AC units plus a bunch of upsell items that ended up costing me 25K plus. Since that time, I've consistently had issues with the systems and have had the company back almost yearly to deal with something or another. Just 2 months after the labor warranty ends, the same unit that I've had issues with for years blows due to a bad thermostat, circuit, and wiring. Utterly pathetic but for just $890 more they can fix it and if I get their quarterly maintainance plan everything will be back up and running. Despite repeated (daily) messages to speak with anyone that is a decision-maker about my continued issues, the company has simply decided to not even respond to me. Bottomline: this company is a joke. Their ""technicians"" do questionable work and constantly attempt to upsell and their customer service is ridiculous.
I wish I could give a zero rating.
Disappointed to hear the family business was sold to investors. The quality and service is no longer first class.
Our A/C unit was freezing up. Called F H Furr and they sent out a technician. He told us that our whole furnace system needed to be replaced because they do not make the Freon used in the system any longer and at minimum it was going to be $15,000. While inspecting the furnace he stated that there was mold in our ducts and we needed a fluorescent light to help with it. It was $1500 and they said they would take 600 off the furnace, well the sucker that I am thought it was actually needed....fast forward a month later had another company come out today to check out the a/c and they added the Freon in two minutes and the air conditioner is working properly now. BUYER beware they will lie and try to upsell everything to you, find another company they are not trustworthy!!
Had an issue with HVAC and they were the first to be able to come out. Great sales techniques but after a second opinion they were almost twice as expensive. They also talked me into there ""service plan"" which would have covered the technicians visit for the estimate (fine print...only if we had purchased the equipment from them). So after all of that, they did no work except looking at the equipment, we were charged for the plan and the technician visit. Only company I have talked to this week that doesn't offer to give us a free estimate.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - at least if you live in Maryland. I RARELY leave reviews, but am so troubled and baffled by the treatment we've received, that I feel compelled to warn others.
We have an in-ground pool, and contracted with FH Furr to install a pool heater. A tech came out IN APRIL. After having us spend 10 minutes looking through his IG page (which he's apparently much more dedicated to than he is to his customers), he upgraded our fuse box as he told us that it had to be updated before we could install the heater. He upgraded the system - without labeling it - advising that he'd do so later (spoiler - HE DIDN'T). He then dug a HUGE trench in our backyard - about 18 feet long and 12 inches deep - running from our house to the heater - and left it OPEN to be approved by a county inspector.
Weeks later, when we FINALLY got an inspector to our home, he advised that we'd FAILED the inspection because the fuse box wasn't labeled AND because the trench - that was still open - was not the right depth. Fast forward to JULY. We have called FH Furr on a near weekly basis, begging for someone to come to our home to label the fuse box and fix the trench. NO ONE HAS COME. We've been given every excuse in the book (""it's raining"" - how does rain impede your ability to label the fuse box in our basement??). We've had supervisors apologize, saying, ""We totally dropped the ball on this one,"" and yet NOTHING. The last straw was this morning when that same tech (with the IG page) showed up to FINALLY complete the job. He sat in the FH Furr truck, in our cul-de-sac, for about 15 minutes (we thought he was finishing his coffee), and then LEFT. HE LEFT WITHOUT DOING ANY WORK AND WITHOUT SAYING A WORD. We've now been waiting NEARLY FOUR MONTHS for this job to be finished. Our 2-year old has not been able to use the backyard due to the GAPING SAFETY HAZARD that they've left in our backyard. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. I'm sure their fuse boxes and pool heater are running beautifully. OURS ARE NOT and they clearly DO NOT CARE.
Gary K.We were clients of A Quality for years and they always did a great job, until FH Furr bought them Out.
We had FH Furr out to do a spring check on our system. A month later our AC dies. We had another firm come out and found burnt wires, cobwebs and dried leaves on the system that they supposedly serviced Just a few weeks earlier. They are now offering me $50 off my next service. What a joke! Avoid this company like the plague!
Service Call was placed with F.H.Furr as AC was making loud noise while running. Technician Charles shier came and said blower wheel is causing the noise and there are also other things like capacitor, mother board, ionic filter, coil need to be replaced and put uv light etc, an estimate over $6100/- was given and also suggested that instead of paying for repairs on old system, get a new one with FH Furr. I opted to get an estimate as I do not want to spend on repairs of over $6100/. So, he said as the replacement is going to take time, I will make the system work temporarily for about $900/- , which can get credited when system is replaced. Since it is warm and wanted to get the AC working, opted for interim solution. Charles fixed and left late evening and it ran for 10-15 minutes and stopped after making loud noise. I thought of getting second opinion so called in a different AC company, to our dismay, Charles Shier from FH Furr unscrewed the blower, removed the housing brackets and left it as is without securing it with screws and brackets so that when AC runs after he leaves blower motor & wheel can damage and stop working so that they can replace the whole system. Sure enough that is what happened and below are the pics of blower wheel, motor and housing from today morning, taken within 12hrs after he left. please stay away from this conman and his company who is selling unwanted repairs, systems and heart burn.
Do not use this company! I had used Culpeper Home Services several times and was satisfied with them. Unfortunately they became part of F H Furr. I had a stench of sewage coming out of one of my bathroom faucets. A plumber came out and sold me two faucets and installed them. The price was an astonishing amount of $2359.20, but if I signed up for the yearly agreement of $167.40 the discount would amount to a total cost of $2172.56. It seemed very high, but as a widowed senior citizen who had previously relied on my late husband to handle these matters, and the fact that there was the awful smell, I agreed.
Subsequently I had this and another bathroom renovated. Two plumbers came in and installed these two faucets and a third one for $500.00. I purchased a very similar Moen faucet (same brand) for $89.99. So I was overcharged by three or four times! I called to complain and have followed up several times with the response that the plumbing supervisor was looking into it. Of course I will not be using the membership plan because I do not want to let these people back in my house! This work was done May 15, 2023.
