I spent $21,000 on a brand-new HVAC system from F.H. Furr in 2022, and less than three years later the unit failed just as summer hit. What followed was a 4-month ordeal of poor service, missed appointments, incorrect parts, and unreturned calls -- all while my home sat at 80+ degrees with three toddlers inside.

In April, I reported that the system wasn't blowing cold air. The first technician dismissed it despite my concern. The second technician confirmed there was a problem, found only factory-level Freon, and later identified a motherboard error. That part was ordered, and when it was finally ""installed"" a month later, it turned out to be the wrong one. The error code persisted and I was left to start the process all over again.

To make part of my home livable, I was forced to spend $1,000 on window units. Their GM approved a reimbursement, but as of today (July 8), I have still not been paid. Worse -- after finally getting in touch with their Client Relations on July 2nd, I was told I would receive an update by July 7th. That update never came. I sent follow-up emails on both July 7th and 8th, and heard nothing back.

It's hard to overstate how frustrating and exhausting this experience has been. After spending over $20K, I expected professional service and a working system -- not a summer of discomfort, radio silence, and broken promises.

Buyer beware: if something goes wrong, don't expect F.H. Furr to make it right quickly -- if at all.

We had both of our HVAC systems go down over the Fourth of July weekend. Someone was supposed to come out on Saturday and then at the last minute said they couldn't make it and said they would come the next day. I called them on Sunday to set up an appointment for an estimate on a new system. Since it was Sunday, she took a message and said that someone would be calling me from the office on Monday. It is now Tuesday afternoon and still have not gotten a call. Fortunately, I went with another company that was much more reliable and honest.

Avoid this company at all costs even if your HVAC is broken and it is 3 digit temps outside!!!! I have had nothing but major inconveniences even though I have been on their so called loyal customer service plans for the past 5 years....and are totally clueless as to how to take care of even the most valuable of their customers. In fact, I wish I hadn't done a major new installation of my furnace and AC with the firm, as from that point on, they've done nothing for me to maintain my trust in showing up for appointments that I've made 2-3 months out. I don't need to provide any more feedback than what as been written in past reviews b others-- same o, same o! Have to wait 45 minutes to even set up an appointment...then no shows for the appointment...want to bill you for services not rendered, their staff is clueless and careless about doing anything to keep your business and happy! Don't be stupid like me...look elsewhere, check out their Yelp ratings...or anybody's for that matter. You don't need anything more than to pity the poor guy who has a FW Furr truck outside his door doing maintenance in his house! He'll soon be writing about the same issues I and others have with their service!!

We called this company Monday morning o let them know our air conditioner was not working. We bought this 4 yrs ago and it's under warranty. They said they would be out Wednesday to fix it. Wednesday at 5pm they texted messaged us and said they weren't coming maybe Friday They are aware we have 2 people in this house who have respiratory issues. it should take a priority. We can't even call them it's a recording. Dont use this company they have many complaints and I wish we knew that 4 yrs ago. We still don't know if they are coming out Its the hottest days of the year and they need to either hire more peop or let the ones working get over time. This is unacceptable business

These people are scam artists. Avoid doing any business with them. They have no integrity to do the right thing. They will damage your hvac system, overcharge you, lie to your face, and try to cover themselves with lies. The service manager and general manager at this location are pure scum.

Zero stars, negative rating were it possible. One year ago, I accepted their $49 offer for and AC service check. Tech was paid in cash.

My mega-costly mistake was engaging tech to clean leaves out of unit, which he pressured me into believing this was critical. Credit card was charged for $556, which included another $49 service fee on top of the cash.

When I tried to cancel the ""maintenance contract,"" reached extremely rude manager who said it was ""comped"" for coming year. $49 was removed, but remaining $547 remained. This is a far-northern VA/DC company which charges astronomical prices. Word of mouth says techs work on commission (answer this, greedy Furr thieves) and customer must PAY them to LEAVE.

Still, after one year, I get a pain in my stomach remembering this hateful company. In this area of VA, an AC maintenance contract runs no more than $300 for the works. I would live without AC/heat if they were the only game in town. Should not be in business. DESPISE F.H. Furr company.

Terrible service and not following instructions to install stand by generator, very disappointed I have to pay extra $5000 to another company so they can fix what fh furr installed after I paid them $14,000 cash, I could have an explosion any moment . But again this companies know how to avoid legal actions against them. The government don't protect the consumer and they know how to get away legal issues. You will have to spend a fortune to take them to court. Sadly

THREE weeks to fix AC in hotest week of a hot summer. Suspect we were overcharged. Dumb us did not seek a second quote. Furr acquired a company we liked very much and we naively thought they'd be similar.
Attempt at end to sell us a part that did not need replacing. Poor communication throughout.

Called about kitchen sink clog
Representative nice and helpful. Quoted price for service call and to fix issue $83 total. I questioned price they affirmed and said that if they could not fix then free. Sounded good. When Plummer arrived he physically looked at sink but did not do anything. He then quoted a price of $1600 dollars. We told him what we were quoted. Then he said he could give us a discount or just charge us $500 to snake drain. He refused to do work at price we were given. We told him we were not paying his price to unclog a kitchen sink. He left. Either the plumber was trying to pull a fast one or the company representatives do not speak the truth.
