Requested quotes for a Watts hot water recirculator pump install in my home on Yelp. Based on seeing some online videos, it is a fairly straight forward job, but I wanted a professional to do it (Ive done some simple DIY copper plumbing, but didnt want to risk making a mistake on anything to do with the hot water heater). I am a first time home owner and was a bit surprised how many plumbers could not provide me with any type of ballpark quote for this install, without first charging me just to come to my house and then quote the job (between $30-70 for a visit, some plumbing companies said that fee would go into the service charge... but who knows what they would quote after paying them just to come out! This practice seems to be an industry standard geared toward trapping consumers into using them just because they are the first to come out regardless of their quote -- so who knows if they are ripping you off or not unless you pay for multiple quotes or have a trusted plumber, because who wants to pay a 2nd or 3rd company to come just to give a quote for a simple job!!). Max was the ONLY guy able to quote me via email making him much simpler to work with. His quote seemed fair. But because I havent contracted a plubmer in the past I paid one 2nd company to give me a quote. Max's was better, so emailed and scheduling him was easy, quick responses to every email, come out promptly and on time. Work was completed in a timely manner. As far I can tell he did a great job at a fair price. Would recommend.
