UNFORTUNATELY, these guys work with/for The American Home Shield bozos. That was part of the issue. Anyways, so the water heater took a dump on a monday morning. I think it was an entire day before they were allowed to come out. Juan arrived in the timeframe provided and took a look and yep, we needed a water heater replacement. He said he would provide the info to his manager who would provide it to the warranty company for their review. Juan said this could typically take a day or two but it's busy so it might take 3. Excuse me, I have no hot water!!! So a day goes by nothing. Another day nothing. The entire time the wife's on the phone with the warranty people. Finally, thursday we finally get an authorization email only because of the wife's calling. I hit ""accept"" and the banner that popped up said the plumber would call us. Waited a few hours and nothing. I called and left a msg. Couple hours, I called again and left a msg. NOTHING. Wife calls again and lucks out and gets ahold of someone who said the person would be there AT 3pm Friday. 3:45pm Friday rolls around and nothing....wtf. I call and someone answers so I said I knew sometimes people run late, but I wanted to check to make sure we were still on the schedule. Guy on the phone claims he told the wife between 3-5pm. I didn't want to argue so I said ok. Juan finally showed up maybe around 430? He completed the job and after about a week, the water heater is working fine. In fact, it's surpassed the pressure and heat of the last one so all is good on that front.
Key points: 1) If Expert Cooling and Heating's communication skills are always like this, I think they could work on them a little. 2) Juan was friendly and professional enough with me. His work seems spot on. 3) I think alot of the negative reviews have to do with the middle man home warranty people. 4) Juan had no business card, could not offer me a paper receipt for my $1,100.00 ""covered"" repair, and the invoice we were emailed from Expert was not itemized. 5) although my home ""warranty"" says for water heater: ALL parts and components of the water heater are covered, and what's not covered are tempering tanks and fuel storage tanks. So, why did I pay $1,100.00? Because the home ""warranty"" company did not cover about 5 or 6 items related to the water heater that had to be replaced in order to bring it up to code. Who knew water heater codes change in less than 4 years (last time the water heater was replaced...we moved in about a year ago, so we weren't covered under the old warranty). Expert Cooling and Heating was fine, I just can't shout out from a rooftop they were 5 stars. American home shield? For $699 a year, which means $1400.00 at this point since we renewed in June? They aren't getting my money again. And I'm going to report them to the FTC and BBB. Not the plumbing co, AHS.

Horrible service, horrible attitude. Didn't even fix the issue then told me I would be charged again if they came back to fix the same problem. Definitely not expert. They only have 21 reviews and 14 are one star. HORRIBLE!!!

It's a shame American Home Shield does business with this shady establishment.
AHS sent this vender out. Quoted us around $1200 claiming we needed parts that we didn't need, which became an out of pocket cost.
Our water heater was only 3 years old and was under warranty.
Ended up getting quotes from
Yelp and got the work done for nearly half the price.
I do not recommend this business.

This company very is rude and terrible! Unless you want to be overcharged for services stay away from this establishment.

This is, WITHOUT A DOUBT, one of the worst, if not worst companies I've ever had the sickening misfortune of dealing with in my almost 74 years of life! PERIOD! It all starts and ends with the owner himself, Jose, who is nothing more than a crook and outright SHYSTER! He fits the definition of ""shyster"" perfectly, which is a person who uses unscrupulous, fraudulent, or deceptive methods in business.
When my Water Heater went out, a little more than 2 weeks ago, I called my Home Warranty Company, American Home Shield (AHS), with my request for service, and this poor excuse for a ""company"" , to my ultimate dismay, happened to be the next in queue to handle my request. Long story short, I ended up paying not only my service fee to AHS, but an exorbitant amount to this company for un-needed add-ons, which were not agreed upon by me. The problem is that Mr. Jose, waited until the technician installed everything in my garage, before he then called me and informed me that I had to pay for things not previously agreed upon by me. When I voiced my displeasure with him on the phone and refused to pay these ""NEW"" prices, he then threatened to have the technician disconnect everything and basically yank the whole system out of my garage, leaving me with NOTHING!! Bait-and switch, in addition to other unscrupulous methods were used by this poor excuse for a business owner. I have proof of his fraudulent behavior, with recorded messages between him and me, and the next step, which I prefer to not do, is to report him to the Better Business Bureau (BBB), in order that others don't have to go through what I've had to endure with this poor excuse for a businessman.
I've owned some highly successful businesses in the past, both domestically and internationally, and the most important contributing factor to my success, was the fact that I ALWAYS treated my customers with dignity, respect and honesty. Mr. Jose has not learned any of these most valuable prerequisites to success, and until he stops focusing on the ALMIGHTY DOLLAR, and starts focusing on treating his customers like the King or Queen that they are, he'll never become successful and/or excel at business.
I have only one thing to say to everyone even thinking about doing business with this man running this fly-by-night company. DON'T! My advice is to not just walk away from this guy, but to run away as fast as you can, and don't look back...
There are many other legitimate companies here in Las Vegas, that can service your specific needs regarding water heaters, without you having to be stuck doing business with this guy, as I was. Happy hunting!

This company was referred to do warranty work and wrote an estimate provided to the warranty company which mis-interpreted its own contract claiming I would be responsible for a portion of the bill. Rather than charge me a higher fee, the company sent a second tech to look into the isue and got it fixed without charging the extra fee. This professionalism and responsibility to customers is appreciated.

I normally never write bad reviews, but I feel compelled to protect the public from this abusive, malicious, greedy, and thieving company. My water heater was 10 years old, leaking, and had one heating valve completely shut off. Despite this, the company did not even notice these issues. Instead, they sent me an outrageous $2,000 bill for a recirculator pump that was still under an existing warranty.
They sent out two different technicians, and each time they communicated that a replacement tank under warranty would be ordered. However, the manager repeatedly claimed that everything was fine and that nothing was covered under warranty--a complete lie. Everything was broken and covered, just not with this company.
Rather than being honest and keeping their $125 service fee while addressing the issues under my warranty claim, they chose profit by recommending parts outside of warranty be replaced, making $2,000. I spoke with the manager multiple times about his mistakes, and he continued to be short, uncaring, and only interested in making a quick profit. Beware of this company--they are not trustworthy and only seek to take advantage of their customers.

Owner does not listen to one when one is speaking. Constantly interrupts and just not the vibe I want from someone doing such a pricey task in ones home.

I must say I was pleasantly surprised when Pat, the technician, showed up to my house. There are some really negative reviews on here but that was not our experience at all! We had a home warranty service call for our broken water heater with AHS and Expert Cooling and Heating was assigned to the job. They were quick to respond to the service call and were at my house two hours later! Pat showed up on time, was professional and friendly, and very knowledgeable. He explained everything that needed to be done. He told us he would report back to the home warranty company and we should know something within a couple of hours. We had a response in 15 minutes! We accepted the payments we needed to make because some of it wasn't covered under our home warranty, and the job was completed the next day. It could have been completed the same day but we needed to wait until the next day. Pat showed up the next morning at 8 AM and got the job done professionally and quickly. I could not be more happy with this service!
I'm not sure what other people are so upset about but perhaps their anger is misdirected, meaning that perhaps AHS did not be cover what they needed fixed and they are blaming Expert Cooling and Heating. I will definitely be hiring them again in the future.
The only thing I wish I would've been told is that there was quite a substantial bank fee attached to the invoice for using my credit card and I was not told that there would be a charge in advance. I would have written a check instead to avoid that fee.

American Home Shield sent this contractor to my house for my jetted tub repair. Jose came to my house and said the tile around my tub would need to be cut to get access to fix it. I told him I had an access panel on the side of the house and he said that was only for the motor. He said AHS would not cover the access panel work but he could cut it all very carefully because the tile I have is no longer made and he would insert an access panel. I wasn't happy about it because it wasn't going to look as nice but I wanted the jets fixed. They worked but the button wouldn't stay on, it would pop right back out after you let go. I said ok, let me know how much and i will pay for the access panel. i never head from him in a couple of weeks so my husband called him, he didn't answer or return the call. I called and two week later (now a month later) and asked if he was going to get me a price so we can schedule the access panel and he said he would call me back that day. Never head from him. Called AHS two weeks later and said this was going on for 1 1/2 months and I paid the $85.00 deductible and can't get Jose to call me and schedule. They tried calling and finally got a hold of him only for Jose to tell them he can't do the tile cutting! Now AHS said I had to find a contractor to cut the tile and then Jose could come back and do the work. I told them I don't want him back at my home, I don't trust him. I ended up finding a handyman to cut the tile and he said ""you don't need to cut the tile, the repair can be done from the access panel outside."" He showed my husband what part needed to be replaced through the outside access panel, my husband ordered the part, replaced it through the outside access panel and my tub works great! I almost spent a lot of money for no reason because he didn't know what he was talking about. I had to pay $85.00 to AHS, $135.00 to the 2nd contractor and then the cost of the parts for my husband to get the work done. Soooooooo frustrating to have someone not know what they are doing and cost you money! Don't use this company!!!! Expert my ass, they need to change their name!
