Jay and his team at Excellence Plumbing did a bang-up job on my plumbing job. My system is a bit odd and it required a new pump and some new pipes and a trap. They quickly diagnosed the situation and acquired and installed the pump within a few days. They identified some previous work that was a bit shoddy and they cleaned it all up with new parts and it works great and looks clean and professional. DC is sorely lacking good plumbers and these guys will now be my go-to for any plumbing work!

Fantastic experience today. Called with an emergency leak and Jay came out and fixed it same day. From the moment I called I had top notch service from everyone involved. If you have a plumbing need on Capitol Hill or beyond, call them - I certainly will next time I need work done.

Not sure where all these high reviews are coming from. Based on the mostly positive reviews I called these guys to check out a couple of issues at my house: 1) low water temperature on my bathroom; and 2) leaking expansion tank. After the plumber fumbled around with my shower faucet for a couple of hours to no avail I just told him to leave it and I read the manual for the faucet and fixed it myself in 20 minutes after he left. As for the expansion tank, he quoted me on the spot $450 to replace the leaking tank claiming he would need to replace and tank and flush the whole system, which is not true! After some more research on my end, I realized I could buy a new tank for $50 and replace it myself rather quickly. He also said the $150 diagnostic fee could apply towards any work I had done. I asked them to send me and invoice and and estimate for the expansion tank work and they never sent me either. That was over a week ago. This is just about as bad as it gets for a company. They didn't fix either problem, charged me a diagnostic fee for basically wasting my time, and never sent an invoice or estimate for the work.

I absolutely recommend using Excellence Plumbing. I called on a Thursday looking for a next-day appointment to figure out why the toilets in my 4-unit condo building were suddenly draining slowly or not at all. Jay and Terrence came out Friday morning, figured out there was a blockage in the main drainage line, and pulled out a hand towel, among other things, that someone in the building had flushed. They were efficient, absolutely reasonably priced, solved the problem, and they were really nice guys on top of it all. And they ended up leaving my unit's plumbing in better shape than it was before this problem arose (better seal on the toilet, adjusted water level, and they explained how to fix a sink water pressure issue that has annoyed me for years). I will definitely call them for any problems I, or the condo building, have in the future.

The tenants flushed paper towels down the toilet. I tried to use a 3 ft auger but wasn't able to get the clog. I called and immediately got an appointment and reasonable quote with fair expectations that things may change. They gave an honest quote from least work to most work. I then received a call in the morning from the plumber to ask more detailed questions and a call when they were 30 minutes out. It took them 10 minutes and they came in below the quote. They were professional, fair and honest. I'll gladly use them again.

Excellence Plumbing came to our apartment because the sink was filling with water when we ran the dishwasher. They pumped a clog out of the drain. The next time I tried running the dishwasher, it would not work. They claimed they did not cause the problem and would charge us to come back. When my landlord reached out to them again via Yelp, they only responded that we are out of the service area, which obviously isn't true because they came here to service the apartment before. Excellence Plumbing will avoid fixing a problem that it seems like they have caused.

Also, they had quoted $150 before the visit and said charged over $300 when they came to the apartment.

Steve and his team are incredible. We just moved in our new house, and within a week, we had a huge blockage in our main sewer line in our basement. Rot-Reuter gave me a quote that we would have to have $6k-$10k of work done to fix the issue. Steve and his team came in, and fixed it with the ""MyTana"" for way less. Most importantly, Steve and his team are people of integrity who really had our best interests at heart. They are about doing their work with excellence while caring for their customers. We will never go with another plumber other than Excellence Plumbing. You will not be disappointed by their work.

Jay and Donnell came around promptly and were very efficient. I was stressed about a leaky faucet and they replaced it quickly. When I queried the price, the company was very helpful and worked with me to find a solution. Excellent company, friendly and knowledgeable workers. Strongly recommend.

There's probably nothing I can do to recover my money, but hopefully I can help anyone else from having the same experience with this company. I had a broken sink drain pipe and had sent pictures of the problem ahead of time. The plumbers were extremely rude as I tried to explain the situation and kept telling me to make sure I stayed out of the way once they started working. However, they never started any work, because none of the three guys that came were able to fit into my crawl space to assess the plumbing issue. Even though they never got within sight of the pipe, they demanded $150 for an ""assessment"", and would not leave, physically keeping the door open until I paid the $150 over the phone to the company. They never saw the problem, but somehow quoted $900 for a PVC pipe repair. I ended up getting another plumber who had no trouble performing the job a couple days later for $365.

Repair lasted less than 2 months. I spent the 1.5 months trying to get them to come and fix the subpar work, and never received an appointment after many requests. Incredibly disappointing and a waste of money.
