Have you ever noticed that if you have an emergency that requires professional help -- it always happens on Friday evening or weekend? When it's hardest to get a plumber, or electrician, or a Doctor? I have.

My kitchen sink drainage pipe clogged on a Friday night. Of course. Saturday I tried to fix it myself until I suspected it needed some rootering.

For those who aren't aware -- Yelp offers users a free service that helps you find help fast. You simply create a Project and Yelp contacts quality vendors for you. No phone calls, no call backs. Within twenty minutes 4 of 5 vendors replied but only Exact was willing to share an upfront reasonable estimate.

Exact and I secured a Sunday visit at 3. They offered earlier but we like to sleep later on Sundays. They had a cancellation and were available around 2 and we said sure. Steven and Michael showed up and got to work. We added a tiny extra job & a small extra job and they charged reasonably for both in a lump sum.

The young men were friendly, professional, and not pushy. When I told them I had a whole house water filter I wanted to install, their eyes did NOT illuminate with dollar signs. (How refreshing.)

Nor did they attempt to sell me their whole house filter product instead, a rude mistake made by two bigger local vendors. (You've seen their trucks.) I say rude because I made it clear to other vendors I already have the filter system purchase in my garage ($400 investment) and to expect me to eat that purchase to get a plumber's preferred system? Rude.

EXACT fixed my drain issue and the guys were ready to go soon enough. They're a Mom and Pop operation (or really Pop and Sons) and there's nothing wrong with that when you feel your plumbing is in good hands.

UPDATE: So good they won the filtration job. They beat the price of the town's more name brand vendors. Steven did such a good job I crossed town to get him a Double Burger Blvd Burger combo. (See my review.)

I recommend EXACT for your consideration.

Raul contacted me almost immediately AFTER business hours after I left a work order for a broken sink pipe request via Yelp. He responded courteously and was upfront with questions I had. He was able to schedule an eval for the next morning. His plumber, Steven, arrived on time and was courteous. He communicated the process of the repair clearly. His workmanship was excellent, tested the integrity of his work when he was done, and cleaned up his work area well. The cost of the repair was reasonable and within the range of estimates of other vendors but quick response time and excellent customer service made the difference. I used Yelp to inquire estimates regarding a leaky shower faucet. After some extremely high estimates, and some no replies, I went with Exact Rooter & Plumbing. I set up the appointment through Yelp messaging and received updates via text regarding their arrival time. I'm very satisfied with their service and will be using them again. The only thing to add is when using a debit/credit card there is a 4% charge. No big deal since it was only 8 bucks in my case.

Yesterday when I arrived home, I was greeted by a leaking water heater all over the garage. They even offered to come out immediately, however, I didn't respond in time. I contacted Raul and scheduled an appointment for the following day. The crew provided me with an update of when they were in route. They replaced our old water heater and shipped away the old. Overall, we are extremely satisfied with the work that was provided!
