Jim Evans, a seasoned mechanical engineer, retired in 2011 from forensic mechanical systems. Finding retirement unfulfilling, he returned to his passion for HVAC and plumbing design by starting his business in 2013.

He identified a gap in the mechanical design-build sector, as many mechanical contractors do not have a full-time mechanical engineer on staff. Evans-Cromwell, LLC fills that gap, providing the support needed to prepare drawings for contractors to secure their building permits.

Earning his degree from the University in 1964, Jim began his career with the Austin Company in California, where he honed the art of large-scale design-build. After that, he joined Fluor Corp. in California, where he specialized in piping design for refineries globally. This role involved specialized exhaust systems for volatile gases and HVAC systems for refinery offices. Moving to the commercial sector in Washington state in the early '90s, we focus on HVAC system design, including rooftop units, duct systems, humidification, and the application of DOAS systems for various commercial buildings.
