This is my second time trying to work with this provider, both times assigned by my home warranty company. The first time was last winter when the boiler had failed during a very cold stretch, and the house was 50 degrees inside. I called multiple times, never reaching anyone, and never getting a call back from my voicemail. I requested a new provider at that point.
Now the boiler has failed again. I phoned the provider over the weekend when the boiler failed (as instructed by my home warranty company). No call by Monday morning. I phoned again Monday morning and was told by the guy answering the phone that I needed to wait until the ""guy who handles that"" got in. The second individual did phone me soon after, but then wouldn't commit to scheduling a repair that week. I told him I only had afternoons available, and he complained that I couldn't do mornings. He said he'd phone me back about scheduling, and the wait begin. When I hadn't heard back by Tuesday mid-afternoon (the next day), I left a voicemail asking for an update if it was going be scheduled this week, or if I should contact another provider. No call back. I tried a couple other times, hoping to reach a live person, but only got voicemail (and didn't leave another voicemail). To be clear, I left exactly one voicemail.
Which brings us to this morning (Wed) when I called, identified myself and asked if they'd be able to schedule the repair this week. The guy told me to stop calling them, that they'd get to me when they got to me. I said I'd never worked with a provider who wouldn't schedule a service visit within a week, and reminded him that my boiler is not working. His response was that ""well it's not cold is it?"" and ""if you don't want to wait, call another provider!""
Well, I'm doing exactly that.

Needs were clearly communicated by phone, spent 1.5 hours at job site discussing job, never heard from him again. Waste of time. Either the job was too big or he didn't see a way to upcharge since I have knowledge. About $12,000 job. Never can tell, but it's never good when a contractor does this.
