My air conditioning conked out last night. As my usual hvac company could not come for two more days, I had to use someone new. Estes was available that afternoon so I made the appointment as it was hotter than hell in my home. The service fee was double the price of my usual company. $400 later my air is now working. The service guy said I need a new system soon. I will probably use my old company going forward.

I'm understand Covid has changed a lot of staffing models, but I reported a maintenance issue in October for them to tell me there were no open appointments until January 4th. I take off today to revive a call that they can't make it and to try next week. Spent so much money on this system but it seems like regular maintenance is just a haste to even get someone to show up.

Estes left us high and dry the day before record lows. Technician was a no show, although he """"clocked in"""" and out one minute later (at 8:46pm). We were waiting by the door. I don't think he even came to the property. We had already had one tech out a couple days earlier who showed up unprepared to recharge our system even though they knew it was low on refrigerant (he was out to do a leak test). Bitterly disappointed and utterly shocked at the unprofessionalism and lack of concern for our well being.

So, here I am in the midst of May, and my house is sweltering hot.....yup you guessed it....A/C broke...talk about a nightmare in HELL (well it sure felt like it anyways)..... Well I knew this could cost alot, and so I wanted someone who was reliable and fairly priced, so I asked some of my fellow yelpers for suggestions, and Daniel B. led me to Estes. I was very pleased with Estes overall. They sent a professional guy over to take a look, and he was able to determine that their was a leak in the unit, and immediately called to have someone else come out and replace my unit in the next few days. Although, there was a slight issue at one point, with some miscommunication regarding that, it was resolved and they did come out in a timely manner after a bit of complaining about how I couldn't wait another week for it to be fixed. Since then, thing have been running smoothly. Any questions I have had, have been answered professionally and knowledgeably by the staff, and I have been pleased thus far. I would definitely recommend Estes to anyone who has similar issues with their A/C unit.....definitely worth the money to get the job done right! Thanks to Estes, I'm cool as a cucumber once again !

OK, they screwed up. They screwed up royally. And we weren't even customers of theirs. The long story longer: our condo neighbor needed work done on her HVAC. She called Estes. When they came to service HER system, ours mysteriously went out. """"Strange,"""" we thought. """"Is there something systemic with our building?"""" I was concerned. Soon, concern gave way to 96 degree heat and sweaty, sweaty balls. The wife put her foot down (fortunately, not on the balls.) """"We need to check into a hotel...NOW."""" But first a call to set up an HVAC appointment with our regular guys (who aren't Estes, by the way.) After waiting a day or so for OUR appointment, our technician broke the news to us. """"Has someone recently serviced your unit?"""" he asked. """"Nope. We would NEVER cheat on you!"""" """"Well, your control wire was cut. And cut recently."""" Hmmmm...... """"Could you document that in your invoice to us?"""" which he did. So you could say I was angry. Bruce Banner angry. Christian Bale angry. Mel Gibson angry, only without the racism and misogyny. I called Estes and connected with their manager. I explained the situation, how their technician was servicing our neighbor's unit, what our tech found, etc. The Estes manager politely asked for a copy of our invoice. Though no promises were made, I sent in a copy. A few days later, she called me back, apologetic and with a promise of a check. The full check reimbursing us for our service call arrived later in the week. (For the record, no, I wasn't reimbursed the hotel cost, but then again, I didn't ask for it.) So yeah, they (or more specifically, their technician) screwed up. But the measure of a man (or a company for that matter) is their ability to take responsibility for their mistakes and make them right. For that, I commend Estes and their management. Four stars on their response.

Well, Estes has let us down. Our repair man dropped the ball when our air conditioner stopped working. He did not follow up. Also, our Rheem tankless water heater is having problems. Even though Rheem lists Estes as an independent contractor on their website, Estes did not help us. The service guy told us that he knew someone who could help us, but he never followed up. So now we have a broken water heater and a broken air conditioner and Estes is not doing anything to help us, despite our contract. ANOTHER UPDATE. After Estes told us that we would have to have our HVAC system replaced and put a patch on it and talked us into a service contract to """"save money,"""" we found an independent contractor who determined there was a leak in an inlet pipe to the compressor from the coiling cools (whatEVAH), so he soldered a pipe to fix the problem. Our HVAC system is working perfectly. Would you rather spend $300 to repair an HVAC unit or thousands of dollars to replace it.

I called Estes to get a quote regarding our split level house and the cooling problems we have upstairs. The technician arrived right on time. He was very polite and thorough. Brought photos of some issues in my crawl space. Issues that needed to be fixed ASAP. One of the pipes was cracked, it was a pipe that contains carbon monoxide, so needless to say needed to be fixed fast! He reviewed his recommendation. He said that everything needed to be replaced if they were going to do the work. They were going to do it right if they were going to do it. """"They were not hurting for jobs"""". You see our unit is 25 years old but because of yearly maintenance it runs great! The problem is the house was built without central air. Once he said they would not zone without replacing I told him we were not able to replace it right now. I told him we paid in full for everything and financing was not an option. However I did not say it was out of the question in a month or so...but with Estes it is! It has been a week and no quotes at all. Not for my leak, nor to zone the house. I guess Estes is too busy to worry about my problem...I went with GB services. They came out on Wednesday I had a quote that night, for the CO issue, and they came out to fix it the next day. They considered my CO issue an emergency since I have a newborn in the house as they are more susceptible to CO than a healthy adult. I will not reach out to Estes again.

Unfortunately I have to revise my rating and give Estes a low rating. If I could give no stars I would prefer to give that. I've previously liked this company but the Manager Bill Knox refuses to return my calls or messages and to add insult to injury a different person returned my call who I've never been directed to contact so that means Bill Knox has received my messages and decided to just not call me back at all. Please please please read all the fine print when agreeing to their services and contracts. Over the years that I've dealt with Estes the service agreement language has changed more than once and the pricing has changed. If it wasn't for me saving everything and reading the fine print I wouldn't have been able to dispute prior incorrect information that was given. In past situations where I have been unhappy with their service I have been able to speak to someone and get things corrected. That's why I am now posting this negative review because that great customer service I once received is no longer the standard and this make me no longer want to give this company my business or refer them to anyone after already giving them over $20k in business in the last year. Beware! There are other companies out there that have better pricing and less headaches. Sometimes paying more for better service isn't worth it and that's now the case for this company. The service sucks across the board from the techs that come out to the customer service line and now the managers. Update- I wanted to update this review that Estes corrected my issues and Bill Knox did call me back.

Estes Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc has been a nightmare. The installation crew's professionalism was very poor and craftsmanship worse. First the installers showed up late and took twice as long to install the Carrier Gas Furnace and A/C unit. One of the installers chewed tobacco during the entire installation process. They made several mistakes during installation of the Carrier Gas Furnace and A/C unit. Three of the worst issues with the installation are; tried to install a line set to the new ADP Evaporator Coil with a kink in the line set, (the installer said he has done it before and would have done it again if I had not asked him to repair the kink), improperly install the condensate pump and drain hose to the condensate pump. If I had not discovered the hose leak there would have been major water damage in my finished basement. The installers also knock loose the exhaust vent on my hot water tank, which I discovered while repairing the drain hose. After voicing my concerns to Estes Heating and Air Conditioning they sent a Quality Control Technician,"""" clean up man"""", that spend 4 hours fixing other issues including putting the proper amount of refrigerant in the a/c unit. Now 33 days after installation the Carrier A/C unit has stopped working. I can only guess it is because of another problem with the installation. I highly recommend not contracting Estes Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc.

the estes technician said it was going to cost me 3-4-5 thousand dollars to put in a new heating system in my house.i got one for $1600 installed(and it's the exact same btu's,the exact same efficency rating and the exact same brand as the one being replaced).i think that this estee's company used to be a company that you could trust(but this was many, many, many, many years years ago(20 to 30 years ago).my parents used to them when i was a youngster.
