I am only doing business with them because my leasing office pays for it. The service has been very unprofessional. Sean, the technician, was unprofessional and seemed upset when I called him back after he left me a voicemail. He treated me poorly and eventually gave me the company phone number, but the first number he provided was wrong. When he finally gave me the correct number, it felt like he was blaming me for needing to call him back since I couldn't answer the phone initially.
When I called the company, the person who answered didn't want to listen to my issue and simply told me that someone would contact me. I was trying to explain that I prefer communication via text message because I work in graphic design and find it difficult to answer phone calls, but he just hung up on me. This seems like a small company, and it will likely stay that way if they don't start acting more professionally.
Prompt and professional service. They've fixed clogged drains and installed a new gas water heater. Best in Lexington!!
...had a clogged sink drain and all it needed was a snake to clear the clog. The plumbing had been taken apart and ready for a snake. All the plumber had to do was run the snake and it took 15 minutes. I thought it would be great to support a local business that was located less than half a block away, so I called Estes for the repairs. They would not create an invoice during the visit, but were quick to send a hand written one in the mail. It totaled 195.00...$35 for the machine (which is standard equipment) and $160./hr for labor (charged for 2 workers when it only required one). Ready to schedule you or respond in emergencies, we have found Estes Plumbing easy to reach, and able to do repairs and replacement work on gas and water situations over time for our home.
Very polite, friendly, and efficient. Confirmed my suspicion that garbage disposal was leaking beyond repair. The came with an InSinkErator but I wanted a higher end model (same as I had had for the last 20 years).....so, one guy ran to Lowes to get the model I wanted while the other guy uninstalled the old unit. Once he came back with the new disposal, it took them 15 minutes to install and test it.
I called them on short notice...9a.m. on Columbus day and they arrived an hour later. What a response time! The first company I called said one week to get someone over! Apparently, the first guy is the son's owner and he is a licensed master plumber at only 31 years old.
I said what I needed when I placed original call for service. Plumber came, tried what I had already tried. Gave us a part number to send us to Lowe's to get needed part at store and said call them when we had it. Two days later before we'd tried other stores because Lowe's didn't have it, we received a bill from them to pay them $89 for telling us exactly what I had told them when placing the initial call. Called owner several times. When I finally was able to speak to him he was sexist, chauvinistic, condescending and yelled at me through the entire conversation. After telling him I was surprised he would treat a customer that way since small businesses like his need referrals and good reviews, he snidely said, ""Fine, just throw the bill away.""
Estes plumbing is awesome! We've used them several times over the past six years and always feel like they're super honest, hardworking and charge fair prices for their services.
We called John Estes Plumbing & Heating because of a leaking kitchen faucet (a flooding the counter kind of leak!) Two guys were sent to my 94 year old mother's home for the repair. After an attempt to repair it was made, they realized there was a crack in one of the sink components and we would need to buy a new faucet. They also replaced a couple of washers in two bathroom sinks. Cost: $238. The next day, the same two guys were sent to replace the faucet. Cost $194, for a total bill of $434 - not including the faucet which we paid for ourselves! She was charged 1.5 hours of labor for two men both days! When I called to question the excessive charge (was either of these tasks a 2-man job??) I was told ""of course - you need someone to go fetch your tools!""
