We noticed that we were losing water pressure in our home. In looking for a good company I noticed a $35.00 coupon in the phone book for Esco. I took the earliest appointment for the following week. I was told that if I joined their Priority Club that I would get a discount on my job. The only discount that I received was the $35.00 coupon from the phone book. The pressure reducing valve could have been purchased at a hardware store for $69.00. My total for parts and labor came to $658.00. I was sold a membership to their club and I am not even sure what it involves. I asked for an itemized receipt and received a generic invoice with a total price and no break down. I was satisfied with the quality of the work but I felt that I was taken advantage of for the high price and the Priority Club price. I would not recommend this company.
I never thought I'd write a poor review for Esco. They have been great in the past, coming to help us once when a different plumber didn't return to hook up our air conditioner during July heat a year or so ago. They gave us a discount if we joined their preferred customer program, so we did. That's one reason we called last week to get a shower fixed.
Turned out that we needed all our pipes replaced because there are pinhole leaks all over the copper pipes. I saw the pipes and did some research online. I was sure that plumber was right, because we had had problems with calcium deposits blocking the faucet in the downstairs bathroom.
They came on time yesterday, which was very heartening. The guy looked at our bathrooms, estimated the distances between various water sources, then left, saying he didn't have all the parts. He returned, worked hard for about an hour, then another plumber came. They then told us that they didn't have the right connectors, so they had to go get them. Again they left. At this point, we called the company to find out why they didn't arrive prepared, and why both of them had to go get the supplies together. Couldn't one have stayed to work? My mother spoke with a supervisor, who assured her that they would not be leaving again that day.
They showed up on time today, and worked hard most of the day. The supervisor came to observe and worked out scheduling for the rest of the work. The repiping was supposed to be finished today because we were going to be gone tomorrow. Around 5:30, they said they were done, and my mother trusted them. I got home just in time to see them get payed the remaining amount. Hunter told us that they didn't finish one of the bathrooms, so it wouldn't have hot water until he returned Thursday to finish up one or two things.
We went downstairs to get some things from the storage room, and found wet carpet, water on the concrete floor, dripping from metal storage shelves, and filling cardboard boxes of electrical supplies. Several boxes of Kleenex and some wrapping paper were ruined. They had moved some things away from the water, but didn't tell us anything had happened! We spent several hours mopping up water, pulling up carpet squares and lugging things outside to dry.
We called Esco, and the man who answered the phone was completely unconcerned. He took the information and said he would pass it on to the person responsible. No apology, no understanding.
So, we made and ate dinner, expecting a call. When we tried to wash dishes, there was no hot water. We started checking the bathrooms, and they had no hot water either. No hot water in the house. In the bathroom where they said there would be no hot water, there was no water at all. I had had to turn on the water valves in the other bathroom, so I tried to do that in that bathroom. Water came shooting out of the valve at me.
Hunter had offered to take away an old toilet we had stored. We found it sitting in the driveway when we were taking things outside to dry.
Checking the utility room, we found the whole floor wet. It had been mopped up, but it was still wet and luggage had been moved out of the way. Under the kitchen sink, a hose and valves connected to them are dangling.
We called again, and the same man answered, with the same lack of interest or concern. I told him we wanted our hot water on tonight, and he said he would tell the on-call plumbers and have them call us when they are available. We still haven't heard from them.
Very disappointed Esco! This is not what I expected. In the past, we have always been treated with respect by professionals who behave like professionals. We won't be using Esco again.
I had a great experience with this company. From start to finish, everyone was professional, polite, and competent. The technician arrived on time and ready to work. He was friendly and free with helpful tips. He worked efficiently and was respectful of my time. He explained things in a way I could understand and put me on the right path toward taking care of my HVaC system appropriately. Sadly, no one has taught me to do that yet He was awesome! I would seriously feel comfortable calling or texting them with any questions. Also, they are up to speed on nest thermostats which was a bonus for us. Good experience. Good company!
Zach W.Esco had a very nice tech however, they said there was a warranty showed up at my house and tried to charge my wife money even though it fell under their warranty. They promised no charges and as soon as I wasn't in the room they tried to charge my wife under Management's order. Don't call them they'll screw you over too.
Got a voucher on Groupon for an AC inspection and tune up. The technician came out and spent two hours trying to convince me that the AC system in my seven year old house was inefficient and poorly installed and that I would be better off giving them thousands of dollars to replace it all. He never actually tuned anything up and only replaced the filter because I had one right there ready. Oh.. and here's the best part.. He actually forgot to flip the breaker back on when he was done inspecting my system. Because it was in the early spring, It hadn't gotten warm enough to really be using it yet. About a month later the weather warmed up and I spent a good hour ripping my hair out trying to figure out why the AC wouldn't come on. I was furious when I figured it out. Ended up calling another company in and they came out and added one pound of refrigerant. Everything's been working wonderfully ever since. I strongly recommend avoiding this company at all costs.
Original review: ***** - After going to several home shows and having 4 companies come out and talk to us in our home, Esco ended up having the best prices, product, warranty, and best comprehensive service. We have them at our house installing a new furnace and touchscreen thermostat right now, and we'll definitely call them again when we're ready to upgrade our AC.
Edited review: 0 stars - They came and installed our furnace and from day 1 it didn't function properly. It woke us up multiple times a night due to the loud banging noise coming from the ventilation every time it stopped running, and it was always freezing cold. We never set it below 72°, yet it always felt like we had an air conditioner running. The first time we had someone come out to fix it, all they did was take care of the noise. They said the guy who installed it wasn't trained properly on the unit and he installed it incorrectly, which was certainly comforting, so now the air should feel like it was putting out air at the right temperature. That never happened. We've had ESCO come out multiple times to fix our furnace, and they've never accomplished it. The most recent time, the supposed ""expert"" on the furnace we have came out and before leaving he basically scratched his head and said ""I can't find anything wrong with it"", and left. He did, however, feel bad about what we've been going through and gave me his cell phone number and told me to call any day or time and he would come out to the house and look at it again. Of course, I ended up having to contact him as it never started working right. And guess what? He never responded! He never once got back to me. Then, I went to a home show and saw him there at the ESCO booth and told him to his face that it still wasn't working and he needed to come out to look at our furnace. He said he would have the people at ESCO call me ASAP to schedule an appt. Any guesses what happened? That's right, they never called! Over a week later I had to call them to schedule an appt, specifying that I wanted this specific ""expert"" to be the one to come to my house as he was already familiar with our issues. When they called to confirm the day before, they said the appt was with someone else, and if I wanted that specific guy, it would postpone the appt by several days because of some training classes, or something like that. They could have said that to begin with instead of lying to me and telling me it would be with him when I originally made the appt. He's now set to come out tomorrow morning, and I called them because with all of our problems with this stupid furnace, I really would prefer to have my husband be here to talk to him about it, so I wanted to try to change the appt to after 5pm any day of the week, or any time during the weekend, and guess what? ESCO will only come out to your house during normal working hours during the week, making it as inconvenient for you as possible! I'm so irate I just want this furnace out of my house and to never hear from this company again, so now I'm waiting for a phone call from the manager to discuss getting this worthless piece of crap out of my house! Let's see if he even ever bothers calling me back!!
I was told two different things about a ""10%"" discount. One was only 5% discount without the 600/year maintenance plan. 10% discount with the plan. Hmmmm, kinda rip off. they make you pay per month for 2 visits per year. then the guy giving me the quote said they are separate. How? when you don't get the 10% without the plan they have been tied together. yet he argued with me for 10 minutes. so your not getting the full 10%. then one woman told me its 5% for senior and 5% for military for a total of 10%. wow won't go with them!!!! why a rip off. The Mater the owner said we were mean. LOL they are jerks. DO NOT USE THEM.
In addition to all that, when I called to complain about it. Mark said Collen said I was mean, just because I questioned them. WOW. Well, no one likes to be ripped off. In addition, I have started a review under each portal, and also BBB, and the licensing commission of Utah, and have complaints about their business practices. Terrible way to try to blame the customer!!!!!! BOLD FACE LIERS.
This company sent an unlicensed employee to do plumbing work. The job was left with a leak. When I called for them to fix the work, they asked to be paid again. They also stole my toilet after I explicitly told them not to remove it from my home. Manager Pete Savage refused to correct this situation as well.
David M.Timothy was professional and efficient. He explained the process, did what he said, communicated effectively and was polite. I couldn't have been more pleased with the service.

I made an appointment to have my kitchen sink faucet replaced. It was leaking so badly I had to shut the water off to the entire house. The Esco scheduler told me a plumber would be at my house between 9-11am the next morning. At noon the next day I hadn't heard from anyone and called dispatch. They first said the couldn't find the plumber, but then said he was on another job and he'd call me as soon as he could. No word. I called back two more times and heard the same story. At call three I told them to cancel the service and I'd be going with someone else. I found Expert Plumbing and they were fantastic.
