Bay Rooter Plumbing came to check out my sewer lateral in the rain. I had a house full of guests. I'd already heard that my hedge had cracked my 1924 terra cotta pipes, so it was time to replace my sewer lateral. The first sewer lateral company I called did not have a special pipe camera and they were not nearly as nice as Israel.
I wanted to see exactly what the situation was. Using his special camera, Israel showed me what my pipes looked like leading up to my home. He also showed me what the sewer system looked like under the street.
The pipes from the sidewalk clean-out into the street did not meet the adjoining pipe. There was about a 3' gap between the City's pipes. All the sewage dumped into a big hole under the street! At the far end of the hole we saw the opening of the distal pipe where the City's sidewalk pipe was supposed to connect! (You really want a sewer lateral company with a special camera.)
For 30 years, my neighbor and I had been dealing with the problems that hole under the street had caused. Thanks to Israel and his camera, we knew exactly what to tell the City, what was needed to fix our decades-long problems. They knew, but we didn't know, so it was never fixed correctly.
Israel replaced my sewer lateral in the rain. It took a few hours and was completed perfectly at both ends. I checked it out before the crew departed. The thick-walled new pipe is good for 100 years.
A few days later, without a call from me, when the rains stopped, Israel returned and raked and shoved my garden where it looked like elephants had trampled it, due to all the deep mud. He worked until he was satisfied it was as good as his garden looks.
I was extremely pleased and grateful he was so conscientious and considerate.
If and when I have any plumbing problems, I'm calling Israel.

Israel came and cleared up our stuffed toilet the same day we called. No one else could before the next day or the day after that. I called Bay Rooter Plumbing at about 3:15 pm to take a look at a backed up main sewer line, and Israel was here by 4:00 pm! He gave me a quote over the phone and told me he would snake the line and run a camera through to see what was causing the backup. Before he even ran the camera he told me that he identified the cause of the backup and did not think it was necessary to run the camera since that would just cost us more money. I so appreciate his honesty, integrity and fair pricing. We will definitely be calling him again!
