Brian and his son did a great job. They came out on Saturday morning. They were super friendly. I definitely will use them in the future for my plumbing needs. Brian just came to my house and unclogged a sewer drain, quickly and efficiently. He showed me what tools to use and how to use them, then refused to take any money!! I would have had no problem paying the price he had quoted me to come out, because he's a nice guy who clearly knows his trade and did the job perfectly, but he went above and beyond. Based on other reviews and now firsthand experience, it is obvious that this man has character, a well earned reputation and puts doing the right thing over making a quick buck. I know who I'm calling whenever I need a plumber from now on!!

Who Says you can't find an honest plumber, esp. online...
I called Erwin & Sons plumbing for a drain issue in our side yard. We explained that the drain was barely flowing and we were worried about it being clogged and with the possibility of a wet winter we wanted to be prepared. I am always a little worried about calling a random business about home repairs but with his yelp reviews I thought lets give this a shot. They could tell me I have to buy the moon and I wouldn't know the difference. My husband (whom is super reserved) hit it off with him right away. He explained how to keep the drain clear and did the initial clearing for free. He also threw in some materials just for the fun of it. How often in this day and age will you find someone not only honest enough but willing to basically just help out. He said it was as simple as attaching this piece to the hose and blowing the debri out but he could have charged us a fair amount and we would have still be happy with his service. Great Service! ... Brian was very polite and had great customer service. Each step of the repair to my main water line was shown to me and explain throughly as to what needed to be done to fix the leak. Brian is so polite & helpful. He arrived quickly & fixed our plumbing problem with great effort & quality. We had several issues & he guaranteed his work. He even came back when our line was backed up (we have old plumbing) and didn't leave until the issue was fixed. What was even more impressive was the fact that he used some disinfected in my tub & toilet before he left. I can't say enough about how helpful & polite he was during his visit. Wow! These guys are great! We are on vacation, and got the dreaded call...The water heater is out! Our other plumber didn't answer or call back so--thank you Yelp-- we called Erwin and Son, and these guys made replacing a water heater soooo easy. and even better, the cost was an excellent value! Thanks guys...you are now our ""go to"" guys from here on out!

I guess you can't post a review without giving at least one star but I disagree! I called and set up an appointment for this afternoon so my sister could meet him at this new house she bought. He called her later and said he couldn't find the address and besides he had another job, and he'd ""try"" to get back with her tomorrow! The address is not difficult - it's been there over 40 years and Modesto is not that big a town! I wouldn't call this guy again if my life depended on it! I read the reviews here - even the complaints - and thought the large number of positives outweighed the negatives but now of course I'm thinking differently. By the way, when he answered the phone he didn't announce his business name - you'd think I was just a guy calling. I had a weird vibe because of that but thought, ""Well, there's those good reviews."" Yeah, well now there's another bad one and if he keeps doing business this way these bad reviews will continue to mount up!
