Gregory G B.Our furnace quit just as winter began. The company that installed it was out-of-business, but one of the technicians now worked for Epic. Epic dispatched him and he made a quick diagnosis. Nearly a month passed while the errant part wended its way towards Epic.
We endured sub-zero temperatures while playing musical space heaters to keep parts of the house warm without tripping breakers. We were promised our repair the Tuesday after Xmas. Epic managed to get the furnace repaired just before Xmas eve. Thanks for making our Xmas merry and WARM!!
Christopher B.These people are out to stick you and take as much money from you as possible! He recommended I replace my entire fuse box for thousands of dollars because I needed a 30 Amp breaker and it was full. However it has 4 breakers that are totally unused and when I asked if we could use those he said ""oh yeah, I guess you could but you really need to replace THE ENTIRE FUSE BOX! ALL I asked for was a quote for a power connection to my garage and a 30 Amp breaker. He wanted me to have the power that was connected to be redone UNDERGROUND and I never got the quotes I asked for. THESE PEOPLE SHOULD BE AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS IMO! They have one goal, to exploit you for as much money as possible!!!
I needed immediate assistance with an electrical inspection and when no one else in Spokane could help Tammy with Epic Electrical Enterprise stepped up! She was super helpful and receptive to the situation and was able to get me exactly what I needed! I wont go with another electrical company again, Epic Electrical did a fantastic job, thank you Tammy!
Susan H.Update: They contacted me after this review. I heard the typical spiel when someone is crawfishing. When I attempted to understand the contradictions in everything being said- drum roll - he said in a very terse tone ""you just can't make some people happy!"" And he HUNG UP on me. I reached out and you know what he said, that if he hung up on me it was an accident.
Whoa whoa whoa - ok, so let me get this straight- he gets snippy, emotional and unprofessional then the line goes dead. He doesn't try to call back and according to him it was an accident?
So now 1 star. Be accountable and be honest.
RUN ? Far better electricians out there.

The makings of very unethical business practices. I'm currently selling my home. The buyers called Epic for second opinion based on the inspection report. When work was decided, I called then Epic to provide a quote for the work to ensure there was no confusion by engaging with one of their competitors.
Two guys arrived and assessed the situation. One of the guys called others at Epic and they all talked back and forth on what was required vs. what was recommended. They were on the phone discussing everything. All of them agreed to recommended vs required.
They gave me a ""required"" quote just around $4800 and a recommended quote of $10k. We sent the quote to the buyers. I offered to pay the required, even though what they wanted wasn't out of code. My set up is in code just not 2022 up to date (still legal).
The next day I get a rejection and all of a sudden the quote is 8k because Epic misunderstood what was needed??
The buyers don't write city code or ordinances. Epic knew the codes and what was needed. Somehow some behind the scenes wrangling happened where the buyers are deciding and telling the electric company what to do for them or what is in ""code"" for their kids.
Epic comes back to me and saying they misquotated because they forgot something. What the F*^#- I call BS because if the men at my kitchen table and men on speaker phone don't know what they're doing or know codes they shouldn't be in this business.
It seems like they caved to buyers to do more than to actually do what is base required. What is there now is grandfathered in and within code. I was trying to be ""nice"" instead I get taken down by inexperienced electricians or shady paid-off ones.
If it truly were an accident that all of those electricians were wrong - they should have met me half way in the quote.
Never never never will I call Epic for anything ever again.
I called Epic while trying to get bids on replacing our electrical panel. We were on the edge of desperate and also terrified that it would burn down our house. The first guy came out and quoted $8,500 but would give us a discount for being a veteran. $4,900 was the bottom. Epic came out and said they were the best, would come in more reasonable and offered an electric club discount. The company's man came out for a bid, kept stating ""I don't fear monger"" and would tell us over and over how bad the box was. He was right, there was a huge problem; our power box itself was electrified. He pulled a guy off of another job to keep us safe. 2.5 hours later, we have a ""fix that will hold us"" and a $1,200 bill for his time. When I called the company about the bill, we were told; ""we don't charge hourly, we charge by the task."" The first guy was throwing so many different numbers at us and telling us how reasonable they were, we got confused and had no idea we were being charged $280 per circuit for the repair. DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY! Unless you have a bottomless bank account. We certainly don't.
Chris and Nick came out to our house to take care of several projects for us. They replaced our old landscape lighting with new LED fixtures. They picked out, installed and programed control boxes with photo sensors that will automatically manage this new lighting system year around. They moved outlets in our office to free up wall space for future built-in file cabinets. They capped off electrical wiring from an old hot tub that was previously removed but not properly secured. They added several LED dimmer switches throughout the house so that our new LED lighting would operate properly. We had several GFI outlets that were tripping off which they found the source of the fault and corrected.
They show up on time, every time with a service truck stocked with everything needed to complete any task. They do a thorough preview of all electrical concerns, cataloginand photographing every issue before providing an estimate to repair. We have never been surprised with the bill at the end of a job. I will always call Epic Electrical for any electrical work.

Once again Chris and Nick came through for us. They returned to install parts and equipment previously ordered. We planned to replace a malfunctioning timer switch that was driving us crazy. Upon close examination Chris noticed a broken spring that was causing the problem. He gave us the choice of replacing the switch at signification expense or just replace the spring. Upon replacing the spring the switch operated perfectly. Chris did not have to show us the broken spring but he assured us that it was Epic Electrical's policy to save their clients money whenever possible. These guys are truly epic.
So for getting the job done, I'd rate this company a 3. For customer service, I'd give it a 1. Just look at the owners response.
Storyline after initial work- was in contact with the owner of Epic Electrical. Tieson offered to send someone over to fix the switch in the lighting that was messed up originally and replace the faceplate that they gave me shown in the picture.
Day of- guy calls me saying that they'll be arriving at my house earlier than anticipated. Cool. Attempts to fix the switch and proceeds to explain how a 3-way light switch works... which does NOT work when they do try it from the other switch. The guy (VLAD, whose initial work we're fixing now) says really loud that the light has been tampered with and wires snipped. Um no, the only thing I touched was the faceplate to repaint my kitchen due to the holes that was drilled into the drywall (which is fine, I have no crawlspace above my kitchen) to complete the project. They said we're done and walked out of my house while I told them thank you.
Have attempted to contact Tieson, the owner, to let him know that they completed the project and what was said. Cause sometimes people do deserve a second chance, I was going to edit my review and give them a better rating. But with how it went down when they were in my home and how unprofessional they conduct business at Epic Electrical.
I hope this review helps someone in the Spokane area to look at a different company to complete their electrical project(s).
Henry S.Totally NOT Epic! Found these guys on Yelp and hired them to do a simple pre-purchase home inspection. They quoted $69 for service (most outfits would probably do it for free). They sent out two guys and they seemed like they didn't even want to take the cover off the electrical panel. They gave me a quote for $10k plus to turn on electricity to already-wired out building and to replace the panel (which ended up not needing replaced). To top it off, they charged me an additional $20 for some gas fee on top of the $69. Sounds like a scam if you ask me. I give this company a huge thumbs down.
I recently had Epic quote the replacement of a couple sections of knob and tube wiring. I should have followed my initial premonition when I was told that the evaluation fee was based on the size of the house rather than a simple straight fee like most other electrical companies. I tried to explain that a smaller few should be charged since work was only necessary on a small fraction of the house but was promised that the person performing the quote would inspect everything and thus the fee reflected that. However I was swayed by their high rating on Google and other feedback sites and decided to give it a try.
As I anticipated, the inspection wasn't any more thorough than the companies who only charge 60-70 for the evalution. In talking to the quoter, the inspections are never comprehensive and the 2-3 hours described on the phone aren't common.
The quote came in very high but I was promised verbally that anything minor that came up would also be fixed. It appears that Epic's business model with their fix pricing is to add a huge buffer into the pricing to account for unforseen problems that arise. If you are willing to pay considerably more for the assurance that you won't have to pay more then this may be a good option for you, assuming of course that you believe them and get everything in writing.
My evaluation bill was the next example of the Epic business practices. When I set the appointment I was told that the cost based on the size of my house was 219. The actual bill was for 252 because it included tax and a separate fee for arbitrary overhead expenses. Neither of these additional expenses were mentioned in the verbal quote. The quoter mentioned that potential customers are regularly upset by these added undisclosed costs. 4% is also added to the bill of a credit card is used. Add, add, add seemed to be what could be expected if I went forward with the project.
I paid my bill with a check so that I could save 4% and express my frustrations as a potential customer and was basically told that nothing could be done and that's just the way that it is. Management knows but doesn't care.
Based on Epic's dishonest, and deceptive business practices, coupled with the apparent indifference of management to do anything about it, I refuse to support them with my business and am likewise providing my experience to others.
cass e.Great service! The electricity in half my house went out. Mike was here in less than an hour. He explained what he was doing, and he fixed the problem. Definitely give these guys a call if you have an electrical issue!
