Neighbors had flooring installed and it is coming up. They have called and texted and are not getting any response. Brought in by Home Depot. Do not use!
We went through Home Depot to replace 3 bathroom countertops with Silestone , install new faucets and sinks and re-tile the bathroom floors with ceramic tile and replace toilets. Epic was the company Home Depot assigned to handle everything except the countertop manufacture and installation and they were excellent. It was clear that the teams took great pains to make the process as comfortable for us as possible: both the plumbing team which ripped out the old countertops and sinks and faucets as well as the team which handled the floor tile and toilets replacement were very courteous and considerate and kept to the schedule they said was needed to do the work well. The outcome was of outstanding high quality. We highly recommend working with Epic through Home Depot.
I wish you could give a 0. Just tripped on a tile that sticks up on my bathroom floor and was once again reminded of the horrible remodel job done by Epic Kitchen and Bath. Eric of course made a list of items to come back and repair but I never heard from him again! I had to pay someone else to fix the chaulking around the tub and the floor tile. This person asked me who had done that horrible job.
Don't do it.
If you go with Epic you will be the general foreman of your project. You won't be told all of the general foreman functions, you'll be kept in the dark, and mistakes will happen. You may have a job and you'll have to take time off to wait around for plumbers, electricians, and inspectors (when you paid Epic/Home Depot to perform these functions).
Another yelp reviewer - CJ - seems to have had a similar experience with Epic's lack of communication causing easily avoidable delays. My cabinets arrived Friday March 1, which also marked the first Epic no-show. Epic started construction on Monday. They returned a cabinet and door that were the wrong size and damaged. Epic worked for a few days and then just stopped construction without informing me. After about two days, I realized that no one was showing up for work and reached out to Epic. Epic told me that they couldn't proceed until the countertop was installed. When were they going to tell me that? At that point, Epic had finished about 25% of the project and could have done a lot more to provide me a livable space. Epic told me they were going to return yesterday and no-showed again.
Today is April 16 and I made contact with Epic. The re-ordered parts will be at the store for pick up this week. There's one last item and Epic told me they will not resume construction until early May, when that last item arrives (a panel). I could have a kitchen this week, but we're waiting for a panel! This ordeal isn't over.
PS
Epic charged me $1,000 for two permits. A permit cost $122 and I had to wait around for the inspector. Too much of a mark up.
I was promised a 3 day install and the ordeal went on and on. The contractors are rude. I had asked them to install a water line and the project manager was arguing me why he didn't want to do it. Will never hire them again!
I loved this company. Some of these other reviews are more directed towards Home Depot but Epic themselves were great. I would definitely hire them again .. maybe directly through them next time!
Where to begin (because the ordeal isn't over yet unfortunately). Went through Home Depot like the other reviewers for a kitchen remodel - new cabinets, countertops etc in early October 2017. Epic was highly recommended although somewhat pricey. The cabinets were delivered in early November 2017. Installation proceeded about two weeks later or about a week before Thanksgiving. Had stacks & stacks of boxes in my living room for two weeks and it's a very small house. An inconvenience but manageable I thought at the time. Two of the custom Thompson cabinets were apparently measured incorrectly. One cabinet was the largest to be installed. When I called Scott at Epic after Thanksgiving he said ""these things happen"" and told me that the new cabinets needed ""7-10 business days"" to be built and delivered. At the very latest that delivery should have been on December 12th, 2017. It is now January 6th, 2018. I called several times after Dec. 12th and left messages and finally talked to someone else besides Scott. The new promise was that the cabinets will be delivered and installed on January 8th. I'm not holding my breath (no cabinets have been delivered for the installers to install). Meanwhile I've had no kitchen sink or dishwasher for almost two months. Epic apparently did not notify the granite countertop company that the countertops could be installed - and therefore the plumber could then install the kitchen sink, garbage disposal & dishwasher. I finally had to hire a plumber separately to do what Epic should have done two weeks earlier (Epic was notified by HD and I was reimbursed for the plumber costs). I was originally told ""three days"" for most of the remodeling to occur - which of course is ridiculous. It is now going on three months. Maybe I was naïve (or just plain stupid) to pay for everything up front. Oh yeah - the backsplash & flooring were supposed to be done by Epic as well. I hired someone else to do that too since this company clearly cannot be relied on to do the job. Very disappointing!
I hired Epic Kitchen & Bath through Home Depot for plumbing job in connection with vanity top replacement in my bathroom. Brand new faucets were installed unsatisfactory, despite the fact that 2 guys spent a lot of time. the plumber (Mike) refused to fix, left with the words 'I am done, call my boss' . We had to call the owner of the company who sent the manager. The guy came with the attitude, he finally fixed the problem but reluctantly, after some arguments.
We did not like this attitude, we will not hire them for future work.
Extremely unprofessional! They do not return calls or keep appointments. They are very rude. Definitly would not reccomend this company. Home Depoot no longer works with them. I wonder why?
Like another gentleman here (Travis), I had Epic contracted through Home Depot. They installed a vanity in my dad's bathroom. They were so professional, courteous and extremely prompt and efficient, not to mention knowledgeable. I will definitely hire them independently for further work! I have been so disappointed by so many contractors, Epic is definitely a breath of fresh air!
