The integration philosophy established by our founders has enabled thousands of property owners, realtors, developers, contractors, and lenders to obtain the best value in key environmental services without compromising on reliability and service quality.
With more than 18 years of experience in environmental fields, Matthew has worked in both public and private sectors. His areas of focus are ecology, environmental assessments, stormwater management, compliance with regulations, and overseeing construction projects. For three years, he served as a Natural Resource Specialist with the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality.
Joel is both an environmental scientist and a general contractor. Environmental Works scoped our sewer line as part of selling our home. They failed our sewer line. My husband is a contractor. After reviewing their video, he was suspect. We hired another sewer scope inspection company to scope our sewer. The second company passed our sewer line. After showing the report to the Buyers they passed it on to Environmental works who still said that the sewer line needed over $2000.00 in repairs. So the Buyers had a third company inspect the line and they passed it as well! The second and third companies DO NOT repair lines. They only inspect. Environmental Works has a conflict of interest. Their faults information almost cost us the sale of our $400000.00 home. If you have them scope your line, understand they will find something wrong so you can pay them to fix it.
Dave S.As a Realtor I'm probably in a position to recommend a vendor more than most people, so have had clients work with these folks multiple times. They are always my first choice for Radon, Sewer or Tank Locates. They always perform as promised, and at very competitive prices.
We just had our sewer line replaced by Environmental Works and very aspect of their work was outstanding. We had five companies give us estimates and they were the only one that noted we had two places in our line that would require them to hand dig to ensure the line was not pooling. And their estimate was more than competitive with the other four companies.
Barak S.I recently worked with Andy Truong from Environmental Works and we were extremely satisfied with everything. This company and especially Andy Truong is great to work with. They are professionals and they take care of everything. I highly recommend them!
Sincerely,
Barak
Alec G.We had a device put in our inner NE PDX (1923) house. They were professional and quick. The device is big, not attractive and it does make noise, a lot of noise (constantly). During the day the noise is not notable, but at night it matters. I believe the house is safer before putting in the radon device and I like that peace of mind a lot. But you should ASK THESE QUESTIONS BEFORE A PURCHASE:
Can I see the full device first?
How much noise is it going to make?
Can you demonstrate the noise level first while I am inside and outside the house?
Marshall A.I was recommended to Environmental Works and talking over the phone I thought everything was going to go perfectly.... Man was I wrong... First we had a 'miscommunication' on the scheduling of services. They thought I wanted to know the location of a buried oil tank (which due to exhaust vents I knew exactly where it was) but what I really wanted was soil samples to make sure the tank hadn't leaked. So when they showed up and I asked about the soil samples the tech was clueless. He said he was not notified samples were to be taken and in order to take samples they have to have Locate come out first.... So after talking to the manager (Dave), he said he could rush to have the soil samples done and they would be completed by Thursday (The day the building addendum had to be submitted). When the manager sent the contract it did not include a date when the results would be given, since time was of the essence I requested to have a date added the contract. The manager sent an email back stating they do not put dates in contracts but promised the results would be back by Thursday (Still have that email). Thursday came and went with *NO* call or email from Environmental Works. Finally on Friday afternoon *I* called multiple times to try and get the results. I reached the manager and I ask what happened to getting the results on Thursday. He stated, due to traffic and other things we were unable to get the results on Thursday. I asked, so why didn't I get a call/email from you telling me about the situation. He responded, why didn't you call us. Then I proceed to ask, am I going to be charged for this. He said, yes the services were completed. I said, but you promised me I would get the results on Thursday when I needed them. He said, it was not in the contract. After more back and forth, I told him I did not feel comfortable paying for services that were not completed when promised with no phone call informing me of the situation. Manager did not like that so I had to threaten contacting the credit card company to refuse payment, and he said unfortunately I cannot agree with you and if you refuse to pay I will not be sending results to you. Moral of the story is the results are still being withheld from me and Environmental Works *DOES NOT* care about making right with their customers at all... My agent and listing agent are both infuriated by the way I was treated and will be distributing my story to all their agents to make sure Environmental Works is not used anymore!
Worst company ever. They underbid to get jobs and then charge you after they start the work, where as a client you have no leverage, because your yard is torn and the sewer lines are disconnected. I bought a house and went with them for the sewer line repair. Estimator was clueless and under bid to get the job and then charged me 60% more than the quoted rate, I wish I would have never ever gone with such an unethical company as Environmental Works. Please stay away from these guys.
When I tested our basement area with a short-term test, the results came in around 6 pCi/L. This concerned me greatly since that particular area of the house was occupied. I called several abatement companies and received a few quotes and selected EW based on Yelp reviews, pricing, and warranty.
The installers did the work in one day and had the ventilation unit purring quietly, completely contained on the outside of the house with nothing inside other than an electrical connection. All communication with the staff was concise, timely, and professional.
We performed a 4 month long-term radon test after installation and the results came back as less than 0.4 pCi/L so I'd call that a success! Originally, I was concerned about noise or some bulky fan inside the house but neither were true. In fact, the fan is outside and extremely quiet.
Choose EW, you won't be disappointed.
Portland BDS required us to get a sewer scope done. ENW gave us a great price (including applying a coupon I didn't even know about), the guy was early, and he was very friendly. He did a thorough job, explaining everything I needed to know, and made the process enjoyable.
The City of Portland required us to get a sewer scope done. Someone recommended Environmental Works to us. Scheduling the scope was painless. Our man showed up on time, IN THE MIDDLE OF A MAJOR SNOW STORM!!! Also, it took me a while to remember where the main ""access"" was on our house, and he was VERY patient with us. Then, when we heard the total...we were shocked. It seemed too low a price for all the time and attention we had been given. We were totally pleased on all levels:)
