Hello, my name is Matthew Evans. I reside in Roseville with my thirteen-year-old son Brenden and my two-year-old son Caden. I entered the HVAC industry in 2004. Before my HVAC career, I was a police officer. I founded Environmental Heating and Air Solutions with the vision of creating a robust business model to assist homeowners and business owners in understanding and managing their heating and air conditioning needs. Our goal is to equip customers with basic HVAC information and solutions that help decrease their bills with the most efficient, effective, and green products. I have worked in the heating and air field for a few years now and i agree with jarrods review. Environmental has proven to be an ethical company with good morals. The poor review about capacitors is from someone whom doesnt understand basic business principals. There is A LOT of training, and overhead that goes into these service calls and it is not cheap for these guys. In my experience EHAS is a quality company with good morals and they treat their customers very well. If you want something done really cheaply call a big company and you will get what you pay for, SERIOUSLY.

I have worked in the Heating and air trade for over 16 years including being a install manager. I work with this company on a daily basis, and I would without hesitation recommend this company to my friends and family. I see the quality of work the installers do on all there install's and that is hard to find. Their not in the market to rip customers off, especially being that a lot of there business is word of mouth. It is hard to find an honest company now a days. As for the previous review about price gauging of capacitors, this has always been an issue after the fact. People need to take in to consideration that its more than just the cost of a part, you have to pay a technician to diagnose the problem, pay for the vehicle to get to the job site, workers comp insurance, general liability insurance, overhead for the company, and a lot of other cost to run a company, plus now they have to warranty the part and labor and if its a same day service that does cost extra (with any heating and air company). .

nice folks, they were able to get to my property fairly quickly. Ducts certainly looked cleaner afterwards. The total came out to more than I expected, but I was in a rush and didn't get a second bid so I can't really speak meaningfully to their prices, just that I had a good experience overall and would have them bid on any future work I needed.

WOW! This company was truly a life saver.
It was 108 last Tuesday and our air conditioning unit stopped working. It couldn't have come at a worse time! I called three companies, two of which I will not name. The first two told me that I would need to pay an OUTRAGEOUS service charge for them to come out the same day. How awful is that? All I have to say is THANK GOD Environmental Heating & Air Solutions is in business! I called in and not only were they reasonably priced but they came out the same day and FIXED our AC. I was so afraid that whatever company I had come out would rip me off. That was just not the case with them. The tech was very nice, helpful, and even calmed me down. He assured me that everything would be okay and he could get it fixed before he left. HE DID!
Please don't go to anyone else. This company saved me, my family, and my pets from an extremely uncomfortable night.

why doesn't YELP have 0 stars or NEGATIVE stars? Eek! Methinks not is right for this company!

One of my tenants called Environmental when their AC stopped working suddenly. Tech Sean came out, initial diagnostic was $89 then they were told that capacitor had blown out and needed to be replaced which was $329 making the total to be $418. I have multiple tenants who live in the same complex and coincidentally another unit had the same AC problem and their bill was $155 from American River Heating and Air.

Initially, I called a local company near my complex : A Cool Air that day but they were unable to come out for repair. But their quote was $70 to diagnose and additional $70 for capacitor replacement w/labor which would have cost me $140 total. You can confirm that price on their website www.acoolair.com So when I received the bill from Environmental, I know we got ripped off BIG time.

I called Environmental and spoke to Ashley who then called me back an hour later and said her boss was willing to give me a refund of $79 because their technician was suppose to charge $250 for the part, not $329. I told her that wasn't good enough because a capacitor cost anywhere between $5-$10, at most $20. Do a simple google search and it's right there, and sadly cases of AC repairman ripping off innocent consumers with overpriced parts issues are so common, it's not even funny. Plus I have the bill from the other AC company where they did NOT charge me anywhere near $250, ridiculous! Environmental's markup is price gouging and they should be ASHAMED! They are so ignorant if they think consumers can be fooled this easily! NOT this time, NOT with me!

about 1pm, Matt the owner called and told me the best they can do is to reduce the cost of capacitor to $250. OMG, seriously? Offer me something better but no, he's sticking to his guns and very adamantly states that these charges are within industry standards. When I told him I have the invoice from another AC company fixing the same issue for $155, he didn't want to believe me and demanded that I fax him a copy. When I said no, he said that I was wasting his time. Then he somehow tried to justify their outrageous markup in comparison to Nike shoes being manufactured at $5-$10, but yet Nike stores sell them for over $100. Really? What makes Environmental the superior king of the AC business again? Shamelessly charging more than double and will CONTINUE to do so? Are there no other AC companies out there? WRONG! WRONG! WRONG!

I told him that if this is the way they choose to do business, then I will report them to BBB. Then he said to me that I can threaten if I want to, but he's NOT going to change the price. No buddy, it's not a threat. I gave you a chance to be HONEST, and do BETTER, but you chose to continue with the price gouging. So I really have no choice but to expose you so other consumers can be AWARE AND WARNED!

Since the phone call, my tenants have informed me that Environmental refunded them $104, making the total at $314 which is still double what the industry standard is. I'm more than happy to pay for what is fairly due, but NOT double.

I have filed a formal complaint with the BBB and am waiting for their response, as well as CBS 13 call Kurtis. I want to let everyone know how to avoid PRICE GOUGING from companies like ENVIRONMENTAL. I will update as soon as I hear back from them.

Called them when my AC went out on Sunday. Although they did not return my call by Monday morning, I called them and they had a tech at my house by Monday afternoon. Shawn was quick and efficient and fixed my AC unit for under $500. Had to replace a capacitor and cleaned dirty coils that shut off the system, etc. Love that it was fixed so fast considering the 100-degree weather we are having! Thanks EHAS!

Everything you've read is true. Our A/C unit stopped working last night. I called this morning - got a call back within minutes. Matt had Sean his field tech over to our house within 2 hours. Matt gave me an honest appraisal over the phone of what he thought might be going on with the unit, based on what I told him and said it sounded like it needed a part, which was a relief! Sean gave us by far the absolute best service we have had anywhere since moving to Sac 7 years ago. Our repair was very reasonable but that included the repair, topping off the freon (sp?) and doing something to improve the function of our unit so our cooling bill will actually go down! He also took time to explain everything he was doing, and also gave us some info on the insulation of our air ducts which we didn't know about. And to top it all off, we have one of those electrostatic permanent allergin air filters and Sean told us it was installed upside down and needed to be cleaned, he cleaned it for free and re-installed it properly - marking it so in the future we would see how it was to be placed. That is what I call superb service. There was no hard selling, just lots of useful information with data to back it up. That and the excellent service have made this company our new Heating and Air service folks.

Outstanding service. I called with some kind of leak coming from my AC unit and
They were able to get someone out to help me in the same day within a few hours.
Excellent response time. Someone named Ashley even called from the office to let me know when someone was on there way. She even told me his name so I would know who to expect.Ashley was very friendly and had great customer service skills. When Sean arrived he was very professional and explained exactly what he was doing and why. He was able to fix the problem very quickly and then explained to me what was wrong and how we can avoid the problem in the future. He was very informative and helpful. I will definitely be referring everyone to this company and will keep their info handy incase I need help again.
Fantastic service. I highly reccomend.

We had an York HVAC system that was on it's way out so we decided to replace it with a new Lennox system.
We were ready to accept one contractors bid but we had an appointment with Matt. I called him to explain that we had a good bid and suggested that he might be wasting his time. He said that he was pretty sure he could give us a better deal and would like to give it a shot.
Matt is a knowledgeable and professional business owner. Not only did he come in under the bid that we had been ready to accept but his bid allowed us to upgrade to a better system and still save hundreds of dollars.
On installation day, Kevin and Joe, arrived a little before 8am and went to work immediately. They explained everything they'd be doing and how long it would take. My wife and I took off for about three hours, when we returned all of the heavy lifting was done and everything was being tied together. An outside company arrived about 1pm to check the system and determined that everything was great. Kevin and Joe cleaned up, went over a few things and left. We turned on the AC and relaxed.

We've had a lot of dealings with contractors over the years, some were good and some were not, but none were as good as Environmental Heating & Air Solutions.
This is a first rate company with first rate personnel. Even though our system has been in for less than a day, I would recommend Environmental Heating to anyone.
