Enviro Plumbing INC was founded in 1992 in West Los Angeles and Santa Monica. We are a family-run business with a long history of loyal customers. I own a condo in West L.A. and my tenants called in the a.m. to say that their kitchen sink (both sides) was clogged. I emailed the other owners in the building and asked for any plumber referrals they might have. Most of the responses I got were not positive, except for one owner who recommended Enviro Plumbing. I called them and they said they could be at the condo within an hour or two max. They explained that I needed to pay a $124 fee up front, non-refundable but that if the repair was done they would apply the $124 to the work. I believe this is common practice since time and travel are expensive. The work was done, a recommendation for a new disposal was made (it's 15 years old so no surprise) but no pressure was made and it's something we can do later. My tenant reported that the work was done quickly and efficiently and that everything was now working fine. I'm happy with the service and would recommend them with no reservations based upon my experience.

We moved into a condo that is 50 years old.
I have leaky sink fixtures in Master Bathroom
and Shower. We are in a pandemic. Water
bills are sky high so I have these guys give it a shot since a neighbor in my complex gave them a thumb's up. First off, they are very pleasant. They show up. But they broke a stem on one of the double sinks. It took several times for them to get the part - now it sticks up - but at least it's not leaking. They asked me to give them a review. Hmmmm. They didn't really perform any work. They charged $125. for an estimate. They offered to fix my shower : but gave me a figure of $760. to turn off the water for the day. I declined that part of estimate and ask for a NEW estimate- because that is what management is for. (I pay enough here)! So, I just got off the phone with them and they offered to come back and properly fix the faucet knob which they broke the first time they were here. I said ""no thanks"": because they have been here 3 times already and we are planning on replacing - and I am trying to avoid anyone outside my household. THEN, they declined repairing the shower, at all. ""Too complicated."" I must say that the company that I called out one year ago did not charge me for an estimate - did not break something - and did not send me emails asking me to give them a review. This was disappointing and annoying and I cannot recommend them as they took too long to fix something that wasn't even broken and their extra fees seem excessive.

Dec 1, 2020 : had our Navien on-demand water heater replaced under warranty by Enviro Plumbing - Jesus Diaz was the plumber.

We were charged on our AmEx a procedure i distinctly declined due to we already had an indoor controller unit in our bathroom for the last 8 year. swapped the controller & plugged it in (like an iPhone). i offered to do it, but Jesus said it was part of the installation. the controller is just a small clock that can turn the heater on at various time. about the size of a deck of cards. you don't need it, but it's an option. they're cheap enough you can find them on Amazon or Walmart.

service not performed : INSTALL NAVIEN CONTROLLER IN AN OUTDOOR BOX = $467.96

3 weeks of emails back & forth with Daniel Thomas Beattie, owner of Enviro Plumbing. i even send him security video of me declining the controller to his plumber. what more proof do you need?

Daniel tried to offer a meager refunds for just the box not installed (maybe $60 refund) or reclassified the installation as an indoor one ($90 refund) .
we were charged $467.69 for a service that was not performed. why would we want just a few dollars back? it's like stealing our car but offering to give us back the spare tire! we demanded a full refund.

on Christmas eve we got a pre-lien notice in the mail. it stated that even though we paid Enviro Plumbing in full, it was to cover in the event of future or in progress services in case we didn't pay. what future services? we would never hire them again.

so i called the lien company & spoke to the agent on our notice - Katie Clark. she said it was unusual since we had already paid but there was probably some upcoming services. Nope. just a refund due back to us. so she suggested we get Daniel to write an email or letter that stated ""Unconditional Final"". it's not necessary, but an amicable gesture that everything is complete. she also said if he refunds our money that would complete it too because why would anyone refund money if they were to later claim they were owed anything? good point.

i emailed Daniel & asked for a person who could sign for receipt of the controller - FedEx Signature Required. he said he would rather pick up the controller in person after new years. we got a service order email. i emailed Daniel back to reiterate it was just to pick up the controller and i would not pay for any more services.

Daniel emailed back that he would charge me $378.24 for the service visit.
What!! it is illegal for a company to self-initiate a service call order without the homeowner's permission. the controller is in a box ready to ship via FedEx. we don't need a service call. cancel the visit & i don't want any of your employees to come to my house.

at 1:47 am i get another service call email. i immediately cancel it. then i emailed Daniel, the office manager Andrea Esquivel & my wife - kind of suspicious of you to reschedule a service order at 1:47am. i canceled it twice before the 8am (24 hour cancellation policy) so he couldn't charge me a late cancellation fee. i reiterate to him again - Do Not Come By the House, i am shipping it to you!

i took the package to the FedEx store. the FedEx person said the address for his business isn't an actual storefront, but a UPS Store #2230 PO Box number. i Google mapped it & sure enough it comes up as a UPS Store next to a Subway sandwich shop. FedEx said i can't ship it there as ""Signature Required"" . so i ship it USP store to UPS store.

when i mention to Daniel the FedEx shipping problem with his UPS P.O. Box. we got our full refund 2 days later.

i guess he didn't want it known he doesn't actually have a physical storefront in Santa Monica. if i would have known that in advance, i would have been wary of hiring a company that is working out of a PO Box.

i wrote a final email to Daniel confirming we got our refund & asked for him to email back with the ""Unconditional Final"" subject line that Katie suggested. it wasn't necessary, but just a kind gesture that this was all done. he wouldn't even do that. i wasn't going to write a review of our experience, but given how he couldn't even respond i decide maybe i'll share what a nightmare it was to deal with him.

I was very disappointed with Enviro. I 1st had a handyman run a 100 foot snake on a second floor backed up shower. He was not able to clear it, so I called Enviro and told them it was most likely a main line problem and needed at least a 100 foot snake. They sent a guy with a 50 foot snake. He couldn't fix it, so he called a 2nd guy who also couldn't fix it. They left dirty footprints and finger prints all over floors and walls and caused even more alarming water level backup in the shower. I hired another plumber the following day. He cleared it in 10 minutes, but before he started he pointed out the footprints and finger prints and said ""I just want you to know I didn't do this."" I called Enviro twice to request a return on the deposit I paid and have had no return call after a week.

If Predatory pricing is for you-so is Enviro Plumbing! I was 1 day out of Heart Surgery, & lost the H2O Heater. I was charged $2065.00 to replace a 40 Gallon Tank in an outside Water closet...easy access. I did try to get an explanation, & Itemized account, to no avail.

I've used Enviro Plumbing twice. I could say the owner is kind, professional. The tankless water heater in my home wasn't working and needed parts. There are other plumbers that would give you promises and wouldn't have the required tools or parts to do the job. I called Danny and he assured me they have all the parts and sure enough they did when the technicians arrived. However, I cannot say the same about the technician Manny as he was inattentive, unprofessional, and would try upsell services that was not needed.
I called Enviro again couple months ago for a leak issue under the kitchen sink and the experience was awful. The first technician didn't know anything and couldn't find the leak to fix it so they sent Manny, and the same thing all over again trying to upsell and repair a leak which I ended up doing it myself by replacing the faucet. Will never call them again.
I had called and left a VM for Danny to talk about the lack of service and professionalism, but did not ever hear from him.
