I've been having an issue with my basement laundry drain backing up when my washing machine drains into the basement basin sink. My regular plumber unfortunately retired or is soon retiring so I had to seek business elsewhere. I saw this company was offering a service to rod and ""clear"" drains with a camera inspection for $89.99. I called and made an appointment. The plumbers arrived a few hours later and looked at the issue, they rodded out the basement drain and showed that the camera found a lot of sludge. After the plumber let the basement sink run down the drain he offered me a hydro jet cleaning for $850 or pipe releveling that would have been probably near $4500. I declined as a could not afford that at all, he gave me some tips on how to keep the drain flowing for now. I did not see if the plumber filled the sink and let it drain under that volume if water to verify if the clog was clear. I asked him about that and he said that if the drain backs up again the same day then I can call the company and the owner would probably be considerate. I paid for the service in cash, and after the plumber left I decided to go downstairs and fill my sink up to let it drain before I did another load of laundry which after 10 seconds the drain began to overflow again and it did not go down for a few minutes. After that I called the company to report the issue and they said that they would have the plumber contacted immediately however the plumber did not call me back but rather his father who was the owner instead called me back and asked what the problem was when I told him of the issue he immediately responded that my son told you that you needed a hydrogen cleaning and you declined the service I told him yes because I can't afford nearly $900 for that service I called you guys because you advertised $89.99 to clear a line but the problem was really not fixed at all because the same issue was happening. He told me that he understands that he also understands that people don't want to get Services done and I corrected him and told him it's got nothing to do with not wanting to get Services done it's that I can't afford the service plain and simple because if I could afford $850 for a service why would I be contacting a plumbing company over $89.99. The owner stood his ground and said that there was nothing they could do and that I would still need to get the hydro jet cleaning done in order for the problem to be fixed however earlier that day I spoke to another plumber that's local and he said that there are other methods outside of hydrogen cleaning that you can get in there it just comes down to if you want to take the time and do the work to properly clean the system right the right tools. Unfortunately I learned the hard way and I understand how companies do business to get their foot in the door I am very dissatisfied that I was taking advantage of for $100 which is what I paid in cash and told them to keep the change. I have already scheduled an appointment with another plumber that guarantees much better work for a third of their cost with a 2-hour work window guaranteed to find the problem. I guess as the saying goes you get what you paid for, I myself how many manager in business owner and when my customers are having problems I do whatever I have to do to make it right and fix the problem at hand even if it cost me a few bucks extra to make it right because I am in the business for long-term relationships with my customers not short-term profitability.

They sent a guy over within 30 mins, and I guided him to the kitchen. I asked how much will it be, he said ""$180"" without even doing anything. I asked ""why that much when the lady that I spoke with said $89""

Then he replied, ""I have to drain it that's why""
I said ""That's so easy to do"" and proceed to tell me to drain myself and he'll charged the original price of $89.
I said get out, I'll have somebody else.
