We were referred to Emergency Plumbing Services through our home insurance company. While we didn't have an issue with how our garbage disposal was working, it was making a loud noise. They sent our Jay, who is the best!!! He had come out before to clear the garbage disposal and even went outside to make sure it was cleared all the way. He is very professional, honest and so helpful. He explained what we had to do to get the item out of the disposal as they didn't carry those specific tools. I would highly recommend Jay and EPS as they have always taken good care of us. They showed up on time and called a half hour before coming out. Scheduling has never been a problem with this company. Highly recommend them!

Timing was good but I had called them to a rental unit ,actually that's who the warranty company dispatched. The plumber left the home without communicating to the tenant or landlord what the next step was. He left the toilet stopped up. Still waiting for the warranty company to resolve this. I Would NOT RECOMMEND this plumber to anyone!

We called Emergency Plumbing Service chosen by Home Warranty Company during the weekend. No callback until Monday. The plumber was knowledgeable and skillful and he inspected and fixed it right away.

I'm amazed at the number of fake reviews that some classless, shameless and worthless people write on yelp these days under assumed identities.
As a real consumer myself, I know that most competing companies try their best to provide good quality services. Their survival depends on it.
Yet some shady people out there use this and other websites as a blackmailing tool. Demanding discounts in exchange for a positive review.
My bet is that the time will come when people will not be able to believe a word they read in this forum thanks to the freeloaders.

Wow. Wow. I was also referred to them by our home warranty company like other reviewers. I set up TWO appointments with them, and waited around for them for the FULL FOUR hour window while I had to stay at home with my two kids (2 and 4).

Both times the plumber flaked out and did not come within the prescribed time period.

When I called the company to ask if they would be willing to give me a discount, the owner said that it was my fault (apparently the first time, the plumber rang the doorbell once, even though there were three people in house waiting for him and no one heard it) and that it was my problem. No discount, no apology, just discourtesy and rudeness.

Unless your time is worth nothing and you like being called a liar, I would avoid this company like the plague.

I had the displeasure of working with these plumbers as part of a home insurance claim, and from that experience, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

The plumber they sent out seemed like a nice guy, but continually gave bad estimates. Since the insurance company will take their recommendation as the word of god, especially over a lowly peon like myself (there is no way I could ever understand the intricacies of plumbing on my own). It took me three concurrent estimates from independent plumbers (all of which agreed with me) before they sent out a second opinion. Finally, the second opinion ruled these guys were wrong and I was able to proceed with my claim.

But there were other problems with these guys. The office doesn't seem to know what their plumbers are doing, or where they are. I called requesting a simple estimate for just hourly work, and it took more than two days to track down the plumber -- because, somehow one specific plumber was the only person in the company to tell me what their hourly rate was. I was constantly chasing them around to provide information to the insurance company. In general it was just a pain to work with them.

Their plumber was wrong, and that was a pain. But he was a nice guy about it, and was happy to call and explain his reasoning/answer questions. Something like that can be forgiven. On the other hand, the supervisor, or whomever was training the receptionist, was extremely rude, unprofessional, and in general seemed to be a despicable human being that somehow is lost in the concept of customer service. If he could wrap his mind around such a high brained concept as ""being nice and respectful"" , it would perhaps reflect much better on the company, and not make him come off as as a lonely old man on a power trip because he probably goes home to a surely cat and TV dinners.

Jay, the plumber that was sent out was super knowledgeable, and a very nice guy. He explained what he was doing every step of the way. He was very meticulous in his approach to the job. Needless to say Jay left a very good impression.

EPS came out very promptly when I needed them. I had called a couple of plumbers I had used in the past one asked me to text him my info & he never called back as promised (this morning). The other company was booked 2+ days out & couldn't get to me when I needed them. EPS sent Jay right away.

I would highly recommend Jay to anyone!!!

A Test of Patience

This is my first time dealing with this company and given a choice, I would never choose them on purpose. They were forced upon me by my god-awful warranty provider, First American. As hard as I tried, I could not convince FA to assign me to someone else. The plumber, the guy who does the real work, was friendly and competent but some the office personnel are the biggest bunch of arrogant ignorant snobs I have ever encountered.

Here's what started this tirade. Warranty did not cover some pieces and parts to bring the my water heater replacement up to code. With $400 of out of pocket expenses, I tried asking for detailed explanation for what I'm spending my money on. It was like pulling teeth! Every little item, I had to ask 3 times for a layman's explanation because they either assume that the whole world knows what he's talking about or they are in a hurry to get me off the phone. After a short time, I just got the feeling they want me to just shut up and pay the money. Every damn item, I was given a line of ""this is a required part to bring it up to code"". THAT WASN'T THE QUESTION, DAVE!!!!

I also tried to ask how to pay that $400. More teeth pulling! Do I pay the office? Do I pay the plumber? They said to pay the plumber. After more questions they finally said to pay when the work is done. Then I had to ask what form of payment is accepted. After a blank moment of silence on the phone, I rephrased the question. Do they accept credit cards? Cash? Check? Chickens? or What? FINALLY, he answered cash or check. This is a prime example of their lousy customer service. Instead of freely and clearly giving useful information, you have to pry it out of them.

Appointment scheduling? Almost doesn't exist. For any visit, you have to set aside pretty much the whole day. They want a 4 hour window even to just stop by for an estimate. ""it's policy and within the guidelines of the contract"". More snobbery. What I thought was supposed to be an 8am appointment turns out to be an appointment from anywhere from 8 to 11. Oh, they were doing ME a big favor by providing a 3 hour window instead of 4. They do NOT communicate clearly and get huffy when you call them out on it. It's YOUR fault, not theirs. My 8 to 11 window . . . I got a call a 10:35 saying he hopes to be here in 30 minutes. You just know that they are purposely delaying my service because I complained to the office earlier. So I lost a FULL day of work. After the job was completed and the plumber left, I noticed a smell. I'm assuming that this is a new burner smell and might be normal. When I called the office the next day to get expert advice, I got Dave instead. He didn't seem to even understand my question. Smell? What possible smell? Then he pretended to know something and answered ""maybe 2 weeks for the smell to go away"". He didn't have a clue. He did ask if I wanted a technician to come look at it. I declined because I didn't want to take another full day off work again because they can't seem to control any kind of schedule.

I don't see how a company can stay in business treating people this way. I want to give them a negative 20 stars. This company has absolutely NO bedside manner. We (me and First American) are paying them to treat the customer like trash. ""Just shut up and give me your money. We don't have to explain anything."" I will never ever endorse or recommend this company to anyone ever.
