Brian Walsh, the founder and owner, has a rich background in plumbing. Having been raised in a family business in Ireland, I always had a knack for fixing mechanical problems. Shortly after my arrival from Ireland in 1989, I started a four-year plumbing apprenticeship at the oldest plumbing company in the valley and pursued the PHCC journeyman course in the evenings.
Years later, I earned my State Contractors License and launched Emerald Green Plumbing Inc., quickly becoming busy. We have experienced significant growth since then, adapting to new technologies while maintaining our commitment to personalized, neighborhood plumbing service.

Had an emergency where the flex connectors under the sink in my bathroom failed suddenly on a Friday evening. Brian from Emerald Green arrived promptly for then appointment the following morning. He replaced the connectors and check all the others in the apartment. He explained, in advance what he was doing and what the cost would be.
I was very happy with the work and would highly recommend this company.

Martin came by within only a few hours after we called to install a new water heater. Very fast. Was impressed by the time it took to install as well as his professionalism. It was a good experience compared to previous experiences with both Home Depot and Lowe's trying to get a new water heater installed in a reasonable amount of time. Will use them again

I understand that things change or come up last minute, however it's the lack of communication that prompted me to post this review. This plumber wasted our time for hours by stringing us along to change our faucets, he confirmed 3 times the day before and on the day of the appointment, said he would come an hour before the appointment, did not respond to phone calls or text during the scheduled time, said he is busy with another job and did not show up, highly unprofessional, avoid wasting your time with this company. The other reviews must be friends/family or paid for.

Emerald Green Plumbing is always my first call for any plumbing problem I have. Brian has installed a shower, a disposal, water heater, toilet, and fixed a number of drain issues at my house over the last five years, and every time, he responds to my calls promptly, arrives on time, and executes perfectly.

I recently learned about Emerald Green through Lowe's when I had to have a new toilet installed in one of my home bathrooms. Having engaged plumbers for more than 30 years I was not expecting the quality of expertise and customer service they provide. The owner, Brian Walsh, runs a 5-Star+ business. They picked up and installed a new toilet within three days and the plumber, Martin, was punctual, polite, quiet, fast, and a perfectionist. I've had doctor's who aren't as good at their jobs as he is. He came back today to install a toilet in another bathroom and take away the old one. Martin showed me the toilet was only soft-blocked and said he could simply clean and reinstall it, saving me time and money. I took his expert advice, and his honesty saved me more than $600. I can't recommend this company enough. (I also recommend Lowe's in Burbank for their plumbing department's customer service.)

Janet and ""Peace"", seriously? This company is supposed to be responsible for a water heater that was installed EIGHT years ago and a disposal that YOU purchased which they happened to install?
Here's the bottom line...you get what you pay for and with Emerald Green you get EXPERT service. I've had Brian troubleshoot a drainage problem that two other plumbers were perplexed by and today Martin would not stop working on a slow hot water issue that other plumbers told me I would have to re-plumb the ENTIRE house to fix (he fixed it by literally SUCKING the mineral deposits up and out of the filter of the kitchen faucet). Martin is the kind of employee that any business would be blessed to have working for them!
How often do you have to hire a plumber? Once every year or two? Don't be ""a penny wise and a pound foolish"", spend a few bucks more and get the job done right.

After using Emerald Green for a couple of large jobs and a couple of small jobs I finally get around to a review. Whenever I drag my feet on a review that means that I'm undecided, indecisive, and still mulling over the situation. Right now I'm torn between 2 or 3 stars. With regard to plumbers: Meh, I've experienced better, but meh, I've also experienced worse.
Emerald Green advertises in church bulletins as a local parishioner who gives a 10% parish discount. I've seen his ad in several parishes... so I wonder, which parish is he a member of? I once asked and really didn't get a coherent answer. I never asked for the discount so I suppose it's my own darn fault for paying too much for plumbing jobs.
The good: Brian has a charming Irish brogue and is quite a chatterbox... maybe even to the point of being perceived as a ""fast talker"". After discussing a job and the price (seems to generally be on the high side, but since plumbing jobs really aren't amenable to ""shopping around"" it is hard to really say) I always feel like I have to count my fingers after the handshake. His crew did very clean work on the re-piping and the interior walls looked just like they did before. I was fearing a lot of chopping and patching but there was none of that seem. During that job there was some property damage from a crew members accident and Brian took care of the repairs completely and to our satisfaction.
The not-so-good: A few years after a re-plumb job there was a need to turn off water to a faucet... and I quickly learned that the shutoff valve was plumbed flat against the wall so the pipe has to be pulled back to turn the shutoff valve. That isn't right and seems like the result of lazy workmanship or an attempt to not use a couple more elbow fittings. Both water heaters installed by Emerald Green eventually needed major repair - thermostat/gas controller replacement. One failed so soon that warrantee service took care of it. Fine; no problems. The other failed about 8 years later. Called Emerald Green for service and l;eft a message... no return call. Called the office and the receptionist started the gilling, ""is this a Lowes water heater or one we installed; we won't service a Lowe's water heater; are you sure we installed it?"" This, twice. And when the did come out for service they didn't have the part on the truck, couldn't get one from their supplier, and basically left us on our own to find the part. (I found one in one phone call and had it overnighted. But why don't YOU have a better network of suppliers?) After installing the part the cover to the water heater could not be replaced -- the gas line had become so deformed that it won't fit anymore. I don't think this is right, and I also think this is another indicator of the inattention to details.
The really perplexing: One of the water heaters installed by Emerald Green is a Whirlpool... just like those sold at Lowes. The other site has an American Water Heater brand installed by Emerald Green. Why couldn't you look up in your records to verify that you installed the water heaters instead of the grilling on the phone and the resulting confusion/concern/consternation?
The best: Emerald Green's young plumber, Martin, is a very charming and nice man. He seems very honest and hard working.
The bottom line: I'm not totally dissatisfied, but not totally satisfied either. There are just too many small things to make me really think that next time I may call someone else. Seems like too small of a shop to count on for emergency service despite the ads bragging about 24-7 emergency service being available.
What a shame since I like supporting small business. But to keep up with the big companies with fleets and people actually returning calls promptly you need to give us reason to keep calling... but it's just not there.

Brian at emerald green has been a plumber at our building for some years . I had heard a very negative review of him from a fellow homeowner, who even went so far as to tell the building management she refused to ever let him work on her home again. Until now, I didn't get why. Brian responded to my call to come repair a brand new, very expensive garbage disposal that he had installed less than two years earlier. This was not your garden variety disposal from Home Depot that cost $175, this was a super duper premium version that cost over $400, so naturally I was upset it broke down after less than two years, with very light use. It was clogged , draining slow, I had to jigger it to get it to drain, slowly, and the disposal itself was not even going on. To my surprise he charged me $125 for a visit that took him less than ten minutes, and when the same drain was slow and clogged the NEXT DAY he refused to come back and take care of it, insisting he would be charging me for ANOTHER service call. Brian is clearly ripping people off and not standing by his work, and also clearly not doing proper repairs in the first place. Buyer beware! Never again!

Brian is an ARTIST! Not only did he fix a very complicated plumbing issue at my home, but he put everything together so that it didn't look like the mess that it was before he started the job. The whole system looks and feels better than ever before. He clearly explains the issue and does an A+++ job. I will NEVER use any other plumber again. He is truly the best.

I have used Emerald Green Plumbing on and off for about 10 years. They are always extremely professional and get the job done the first time. It's always extremely fast as well. I never understood why other plumbers take so long to do the same work.
Brian is so nice and genuinely cares. And he has a wonderful Irish accent!
The prices aren't cheap, but they also aren't really any more expensive than anyone else. But you're getting quality work!
