Many of the plumbing products available today have advanced greatly, and our equipment now offers enhanced efficiency and accuracy.

Brian Walsh, the founder and owner, has a rich background in plumbing. Growing up in a family business in Ireland, I developed a passion for mechanical work. Shortly after my arrival from Ireland in 1989, I started a four-year plumbing apprenticeship at the oldest plumbing company in the valley and pursued the PHCC journeyman course in the evenings.

Eventually, I obtained my State Contractors License and established Emerald Green Plumbing Inc., which became successful almost immediately. We have experienced significant growth since then, adapting to new technologies while maintaining our commitment to personalized, neighborhood plumbing service.

Martin came over to replace and fix an outside faucet where one of our hoses was connected. Martin was professional, courteous, friendly and did a great job of correcting our faucet.

Brian and Martin do fantastic work, but unfortunately Brian's customer service is vague, condescending, and disrespectful. As a result, we will not be using Emerald Green Plumbing moving forward. To elaborate:

My partner and I hired Emerald Green to perform some basic plumbing tasks for our washer/dryer hookups: 1) lower 2x water supply lines (hot and cold) to an appropriate height, 2) replace both water valves, and 3) replace our gas line and valve. Martin came on 10/10/23 to complete this work, and it was done within a timely manner and without any catastrophic issues. Martin let us know that his work was ""warrantied"" and indicated that both the water and gas lines had been tested (see work order attached below). The total cost for the work performed was $680.

Shortly thereafter, I discovered that the hot and cold water valves were mislabeled - hot was cold, and cold was hot. Our house was built in 1947 and as such, the water supply lines are inverted with respect to the modern plumbing convention (i.e. hot on the left, cold on the right). Given that Martin had indicated that the work was ""warrantied"", and that the work order clearly stated that the water lines were both tested, I called Brian on the morning of 10/16/23 to remediate the problem by having them swap the mislabeled valves.

I explained to Brian how the water line valves were mislabeled, and he suggested I simply ""switch the hoses"" feeding the washing machine. I explained to him that I understand that this would ""fix"" the issue, however I reminded him of the warranty on the work that Martin had explained to me, and how the work order stated that the lines were tested. I also explained to him how we felt uncomfortable paying $680 for incomplete/incorrect service rendered. He acknowledged and said that they could come by the same day sometime between 12pm and 2pm to fix the issue. At no point did he indicate that this work would be an additional charge, or that it wouldn't be covered under the warranty.

That afternoon, Martin swapped the valves and they are now correct, however he then let me know that we now owe an additional $150? I was confused, and asked him how this could be the case, given the warranty on the work, the ""tested"" remark on the work order, and especially given how the install was incorrect. He told me to take it up with Brian, so Brian gave me a call.

I explained my confusion for this charge to Brian, given the warranty, the ""tested water line's"" remark on the work order, and our phone conversation earlier that morning, where we had discussed all of these things. He launched into a lengthy barrage of comments about how it's not the plumber's responsibility to check which water lines are which. To paraphrase, he said things like ""it's your fault for not letting us know which water lines were which"", ""the home inspector should have caught that"", ""we would test a kitchen/bathroom sink or shower for hot and cold but not a washer/dryer"", ""some older homes have their hot and cold lines reversed"", so on and so forth. I tried to respond to his remarks, to which he repeatedly cut me off to continue rambling, asking me to ""let him finish.""

I let him finish his remarks, and given what he had said about older homes, I then asked him ""if older homes sometimes have their hot and cold water lines reversed, is that not something that a plumber would be inclined to check, before making assumptions about which line is hot and which is cold?"" Before I could finish, he cut me off, stating that it was still my fault and that it was my responsibility to let them know such things. At no point did he address the supposed warranty, our phone call earlier that morning, or what is covered under the warranty.

I, again, reminded him of the warranty, how the work was technically incorrect, how his work order explained that the lines were ""tested"", and asked him why I was being charged and additional $150 to remedy HIS company's mistakes, to which he continued to defend his stance, at which point he said that he would make me ""a deal"" and split the cost halfway, only charging us $85 to fix their mistake.

In summary, Brian was vague, misleading, condescending, and disrespectful to me when handling an issue that could have been easily avoided with due diligence, respect, and an inclination toward providing decent (not even good) customer service. As such, he has unfortunately lost loyal customers today. I am saddened as we have been using Brian and Martin for some time now, but today is our final day working with them.

We had a leaky shower. It turns out that a leak in the shower is a more complicated thing than your normal sink faucet leak. Martin did a fantastic job. He installed a new cartridge, pressure regulator, handle, and shower head. Everything looks great and works beautifully! Martin was professional, answered all our questions (including those that didn't involve the shower), was attuned to all details, and above all was obviously conscientious, down to the color of the caulk he used. So many technicians just want to get the work done and be gone, but Martin really went the extra mile to help. Can't recommend him (and the company) enough!

I have had a poor experience with Emerald Green Plumbing, which Lowe's subcontracted to install garbage disposal as part of a sink install. Later we noticed that the disposal was leaking. We contacted Emerald to try to remedy the situation, as we were still under Lowe's warranty, who subcontracted to Emerald Green Plumbing.

This was approximately 3 weeks ago. In my opinion, we have been given nothing but the runaround since, in which each time we contact Emerald we are told that there is yet one more hoop to jump through with one more third party for us to contact.

Finally, Emerald arrived today to replace the unit but did not bring a unit along to replace the defective one. Even though, by my memory, they brought the unit with them during the original install! They didn't even look at the unit today.

I will update this review if and when Emerald ever honors its obligations with respect to the disposal that they installed.

So far, our opinion is purely negative.

The clean out from the washer in my kitchen was clogged. I called this company who I never used before and they were FABULOUS! They r parishioners of my church which is how I found them in the weekly bulletin. Brian is the owner who was very nice and accommodating to my schedule. He sent his assistant MARTIN, a VERY SKILLED, KNOWLEDGABLE, POLITE, CLEAN, WELL SPOKEN, PUNCTUAL gentleman. He went well above his protocol till the line was flowing smoothly. YAYYYYY, NO MORE water coming into the kitchen. A PERFECT job. If you need a plumber LOOK NO FURTHER than this company. It will b the BEST call u can EVER make for a plumbing company. Thank U BRIAN and MARTIN.

Brian came out immediately to fix a leak in the line feeding into my water heater. It was fixed in a flash for a reasonable price (let's be real, plumbers are not cheap though). What I liked is that he doesn't have that kind of business model that runs as a network/dispatch that pays on commission. He gave me a good education about my aging copper pipes and advice on how to get the most out of them rather than jump right into an expensive re-piping job. In short, he's a technically talented plumber and sincere person...no BS. I would hire him again.

Our family would like to commend Emerald Green Plumbing and its owner, Brian Walsh, and his assistant, Martin, for many years (at least 15) of the best in ""home rescue plumbing service needs"" for our home. Emerald Green Plumbing is outstanding particularly in the areas of customer service and maintaining a vast and thorough knowledge and comprehension of plumbing problems (any kind) and what it takes to fix them. From our own personal experience over the years, Emerald Green stands above other plumbing companies that we have used. They are very familiar and knowledgeable about the plumbing layouts and needs of the older homes as well as the newer to the most newly designed homes with designer kitchens and designer bathrooms throughout the San Fernando Valley as well as other outlying areas. Our family has resided in the Valley for almost 45 years and there has never been a time or a plumbing issue from simple to very complex that Brian Walsh could not solve, whether to repair or replace. Martin is equally as hard working as Brian and they have always gone the extra and many miles to get our plumbing issues resolved and in a timely way.

Just to name some of the plumbing work that Emerald Green has successfully repaired or replaced for us: Water heater, kitchen disposals, new commode installation, major plumbing from the front of our home out towards the street (having to go under the driveway, etc.), replumbing for washer and dryer going from inside the home to another location, ....there have been other repairs and new work, all very professionally done and with not just the right parts, but top of the line parts that worked and nothing had to ever be redone.

We are very pleased with Emerald Green and that Brian always takes the time to explain what our particular plumbing issue(s) is about and what is needed to correct it. He doesn't mind taking the time to explain details, does not get annoyed when we ask lots of questions; has a great attitude, and this goes a very long way with us. Other plumbers simply wanted to come in, diagnose, get the job done and then hand us a bill. We feel very blessed that we can call on him with great confidence for all of our plumbing needs because he and or Martin always know what to do. His company's service is reliable and trustworthy and we have always found parts and labor costs for various jobs to be within fair pricing limits. No matter whether planned plumbing is in the works, or an emergency call for help, Emerald Green has an excellent reputation for promptly returning calls and ready to help. If you want to have a plumber to work with who truly cares about your issues with your home and you want quality work to be done and someone you can trust who knows what they are doing, we highly recommend Emerald Green Plumbing. Brian Walsh and Martin will go the extra mile to make sure the right solution is in place to get everything up and running again for you. Thank you Brian and Martin for many years of outstanding service.

Had an emergency where the flex connectors under the sink in my bathroom failed suddenly on a Friday evening. Brian from Emerald Green arrived promptly for then appointment the following morning. He replaced the connectors and check all the others in the apartment. He explained, in advance what he was doing and what the cost would be.
I was very happy with the work and would highly recommend this company.
