Elkhorn was fantastic. Our hot water/radiator system was making terrible noises and wasn't keeping up with cold weather. I called and they offered to have a technician visit that afternoon to diagnose the problem (that day! -- unbelievable!). During Eric's initial visit, he quickly determined the system had too much air in it, blocking flow and causing the heating unit to fail. After attempting to simply bleed off the excess air in the system, it became clear there were other systems problems and he scheduled a longer visit to purge and repair the system just a few days later. After a single visit with repairs of a few failed components we're back in business. Many thanks for great work!

Elkhorn quoted me a system then at the last minute said the venting could not be done and they needed to talk to the engineers at Trane and to give them a few weeks to a couple months. I never heard back from them. Now the prices are higher and it looks like they are no longer Trane Comfort Specialist anymore. I refuse to do business with companies that do not honor their commitments.

I called 10 different companies to get bid out for a whole home humidifier and only three of which actually scheduled an appointment and showed up of those three two tried to sell me a $20,000 furnace.

These guys showed up quoted exactly what was asked for and not a thing more or less. They made a couple of polite suggestions about a few better cleanliness standards for the furnace maintenance and even offered to clean it for free and show us how to do it ourselves.

This is exactly what you want from a service provider.

As a fellow service provider I raise a glass to these folks for doing exactly what we are supposed to do... what the customer tells us to.

I had a great experience with Elkhorn heating. My wife and I decided it was time to replace our HVAC system, which is about 15 years old. Another HVAC company had recently completed an annual inspection and cleaning of our two HVAC systems. Before deciding to replace the one system, I wanted to get another company to perform an air flow/pressure test. Called Elkhorn and spoke to Gary, the owner. After talking with Gary, I scheduled an appointment. Gary actually came out and performed the test and provided additional information about our system. I appreciated all the extra time that Gary spent with me to explain other concerns related to installing a new system. Within a couple days Gary sent a line by line item quote for a new Trane system. One great thing about Elkhorn is they do all of their work and do not contract anything out. If you are looking for a new HVAC system or servicing of your system I recommend giving them a call.

The company representative had given us a very competitive estimate & we chose Elkhorn. Matthew & Justin just completed installing a new Trane air conditioner. They were prompt, polite, reliable, & swept up after installation. We couldn't be happier & will use them in a few months to replace our 18 yr old furnace.
We chose Elkhorn because of their professionalism, fair pricing, & ethical business practice. We will use them as our electricians as well going forward. Very happy family in Highwoods!

If I could rate them zero stars I would. Terrible, rude customer service. They will sell you an expensive product, and they are great to work with when you are buying...but when something goes wrong they are awful. I'll never do business with them again.
