Elite Plumbing's outgoing voicemail message says that they're located in the USA, a "Christian nation". They couldn't be bothered to read US history and learn that we were specifically created to *not* be a Christian nation; I have no reason to believe they'd be any less lazy when doing a plumbing repair.

The message also says that people who do not speak English are not welcome to do business with them, so I will do business with plumbers who are not racist, and leave Elite to corner the ignorant mouth-breathing segment of the market. Anywhere my grandmother would not have been allowed to patronize will not get my business.

That said, I hope they make a great deal of money... and spend it on the Remedial Civics class they so obviously need.

I am a Business Development professional in the Houston area. I called the company with the hopes of earning their business, as opposed to getting a quote for their services. When listening to the general greeting on the voicemail system, my jaw hit the floor. I was literally speechless. I am paraphrasing, but the greeting essentially said, "We are a company based in the United States - a Christian nation - the land of the free. Here we speak English. If you speak Spanish or are unable to communicate in English please hang up."

I scarcely no where to begin. Never in my life have I encountered a business that would audaciously discriminate this way. Last I checked, money spends the same no matter what your first language is. Who cares what a person's first language is. i would think that if you want to grow your business you will do business with anyone that has the money to spend and can afford to pay the amount quoted. I find this to be morally repugnant and thoroughly unprofessional. I understand a business has the right to refuse business. But, I also have the right to report the company for discrimination. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau about this.

As an aside, if you continue to listen to the greeting it gives you a list of names and extensions. One of the names is Juan De Leon (sp?)...think about that.

I was hoping to have Elite Plumbing quote a project requiring some new piping/finish and called at roughly 5:30pm on a weekday. I expected them to be closed, so I was hoping to leave a voicemail.

As I call in, an automated message picks up *this is only after hours* and says: "Thank you for calling Elite Plumbing Corporation, we are based in the United States, a Christian nation- land of the free and home of the brave" ok..... where is this going?

The recording continues- "Here in America, we speak English and only English. So if you are unable to communicate in English, please disconnect now."

You have to be kidding me. Are you serious? You are basically saying that any non-native English speaker has no chance in doing business with your company. While I can communicate in English, and it is my first language, I refuse to do work with a company as ignorant as Elite Plumbing. A large population of the country speaks English as a second language, and an even bigger population in the construction industry speaks English as a second language..... Please, I urge everyone to call after hours to hear such a shocking recording.

By the way, for the record- people that speak NO English most likely wouldnt even call- or understand the message. So what level of accent is acceptable? What youre saying is that if you even sound foreign, youre out of luck.
